  1. This was very indie. You have ECW guys going against other indie guys. Some of it is alright with guys like Flash and Whipwreck Other stuff not so much as it gets botchy and bad. They go into the back area which looks like a wedding room and Balls Mahoney helps out Chetti for some reason. The ending run isn't good and this was just too long for my tastes. It's amazing that MCW still does the Shamrock cup to this day.
  2. Trying to think who Khan is. Whoever he is, he's not bad. They try hard but this was no Dragon/Spanky/Rocker or anything. I think the woman with Derrick was his fiance. Might be wrong at that.
  3. For Grimmas I'm going with a AAA match with some Japanese women wrestlers
  4. Watched this for the Secret Santo project. It's amazing that this took place in New York so soon after 9/11.I thought everything in town was shut down. Anyways, Low Ki comes out with the American Flag looking like UnderTaker when he was announced as a partner on Lex Luger's Survivor series team. They start off quick right off the bat. I's amazing seeing Low Ki able to adapt to whatever opponent he's in with. Rather it be a brawl with Homicide, a indie match with Billy Reil or a high flying affair with Red. Red is so fluid with his moves especially that ddt. The thing I notice about these early Low Ki matches is how hard a time he has in hitting the Ki Krusher. It takes a while but he hits a good on off the top on Red. I was afraid Red was going to kick out to make it real indie but he doesn't so that's good. Really enjoyed this match.
  5. Marcus Alexander Reil. Nice touch. I liked Billy's promo at the beginning. Ki goes the mark pretty easily but seems to have problems with Berk. Especially during the finish where he was having a hard time getting him up for the Ki Krusher. After the match, Billy moons the crowd. A very indie segment indeed.
  6. For Migs: I picked one of my favorite lucha matches ever that took place in Japan featuring Ninja Turtles and Robin vs Black Terry, Jose Feliciano, Texano and Ricky Boy
  7. So how does Tenyru go from being Hayabusa in FMW to having a match with him in WAR? Fun match with both guys going full speed. I liked how Tenyru kept being shocked Hayabusa would kick out of his moves untill finally putting him away. This kinda felt like a RAW match.
  8. I was also at the MLW show. I thought Pentagon/Fenix was the best match because I've only seen them live at CZW and it was good to see them 1 on 1. Pentagon is a presence about him that few in wrestling have. I can't explain it. The main event was good but dissapointing. It didn't feel like a deathmatch as it was mostly like last month's tag match without Darby's insane bumps. Was expecting more blood and gore. Ki/MVP was alright but the finish killed it. It's never good when the crowd chants "bullshit" after the match. Rest the show was weak. I'm not sure I'll go back to MLW. I hate the venue as it's too small and the standing room only section sucks.
  9. Man this is one sleazy place to book a barbed wire match in. Love the atmosphere of the fans being up close to the wire around the ring. Onita coming in as the master don vs a local guy like Takagi is a good story for this. I liked that they worked the match as a regular match with barbed wire around. Takagi even forgets about it and grabs the wire. Eventually, they start using with the wire. Very little blood in this and it turns into a regular Onita match. Good stuff.
  10. After a few minutes it was pretty obvious Diner was Apache. Having said that, he was still his awesome self. I liked how he didn't change a thing. Good match with Crazy Max bringing the rudo offense including sumo doing my favorite move of sumo chops to the groin of Tiger Mask Speaking of Tiger Mask, he did a awesome triangle for the finish and the guy sold it great.
  11. NintendoLogic picked this for me for the Secret Santo project. I'm not the biggest NOAH fan so I've never seen this but man was it awesome. Morshima right out the gate goes after Ikeda with Lariats. The first couple he hit are brutal. I was surprised at the ref bumps in this as I didn't think NOAH did that. They go to the outside and use chairs and even the ref takes a chairshot. Ikeda does a DVD through a table and gets his comeback. He throws a bunch of punches and kicks and finally gets the win and the title. Good story and awesome match. Glad I watched it.
  12. Weird match as the rudo minis seem to be working like tecnicos till the third fall. Never heard of the other guys but they looked good. One went out on a stretcher with a shoulder injury and another did a dive where it looks like he injured his leg. The brawl at the end doesn't make sense but it was heated so that's nice. Good match.
  13. My Pick for NintendoLogic is Rey Mysterio vs Mr. 450 from WWC La Hora de la verdad 2/27/2016. This is the handheld version. The TV version is clipped.
  14. Decent match. Hero looked better than he did the previous match and Kid is a good oppenent. It's weird to see a Hero match that is not dominated by strikes. Ian is unintentionally hilarious in his post match promo. He bashes the crowd for not cheering enough. Could you imagine HHH doing that at Full Sail or Gabe doing it at WWN? Then he says this is the final show since under 100 people showed up on a wednesday in some backyard in Indiana. Can't beileve he's been saying the same thing for almost 20 years. How very Bert Prentice of him.
  15. This was better than the other Shoot match. Kickboxer dominates by trying to break Hi Zaya's arm. He also throws some nice knees. The finish was weird with the run ins and the choke out finish. I guess that counts as a knockout. Good match.
  16. Fun match thanks to the crowd and the Outlaws doing a great Bill Dundee/Buddy Landell impersonation in making the babyfaces look good. Rock of course is over like hell but doesn't do a lot in this. He doesn't have to because this is all about Cactus preparing for the end of his career. It's matches like this that you notice how awesome a tag worker Billy Gunn is. He doesn't get credit for that. Only thing about this match that made me sad is seeing Cactus try to walk around the ring with his bad knees.
  17. Man they were pushing the Dudley's hard as bastard heels. They did a good job at it, way better than ECW did a couple years earlier. Good match with Bubba seeming out of it and Edge/Christian taking advantage. Bubba puts BB through the table and the pop for it is not as much as the others were. Nice cameo from Bryan Danielson as one of the EMT's.
  18. Nice tv match. Benoit getting Rikishi up for that Northern lights suplex was insane. Rikishi was really over in Feb. 2000. Probably the most over he ever was in the company. The finish was weak but I guess it made sense given the storyline.
  19. This was my pick by Soup23 for the Secret Santo project.I feel like I've seen this before but don't remember it. I liked the start of it with AJ's arm getting screwed up. Aj makes a come back with that Moonsault DDT thing. I think it was Xavier Woods that said AJ could never hit that quite right until he hit it on Woods. The one to the outside was the one that looked the most clean. Both guys miss dives to the outside and the Crowd doesn't seem to care for the most part. I liked the finishing run from AJ attempting to hit the styles clash and Punk being innovated enough to use the ropes to stop it to the way Punk hooked on the Vice. Good title match overall that told to a good story and while it was long, it didn't feel long like a lot of IWA MS matches do to me.
  20. Psicosis took a lot of this which surprised me. The leg drop from the balcony to the floor through a table had to suck/ Especially with those Japanese tables. The rudo run ins were very AAA like but it didn't go on too long and misfired on the rudos. Fun match with Tiger Mask looking good.
  21. Good to see Hijo del Diablo. Still going strong in IWRG to this day. Fine match with Shu and Dandy setting the pace. The second fall was a little long with the rudo beatdown. I'd like to see a Shu/Dandy one on one match.
  22. Thought this was a little long but the Dandy beatdown of Antifaz was real good. He tears his mask and punches him right in the face multiple times in the corner. Really liked the finish with the double knockout.
  23. This was weird as it was two heels vs the babyface and most of the action has the two heels fighting each other. Pound is pretty generic and not overly exciting. Khan is ok and takes a big bump to the outside through a table. I was reading about Pawluk in the old 2000 observers talking about how he could be the next big thing in Stampede but it never came to be. He was really green. The post match was hilarious with Pound going after Diana and Harry Smith making the save with the worse cane shots i've ever seen. Not very good but interesting to see.
  24. I'm pretty sure Flash had a developmental deal in the late 90's. I'm guessing that's why he stayed in Memphis for so long. The match was alright until the finish. Flash almost injures himself with the springboard dive with the chair. The ref bumps were ridiculous but not as bad as Walking Tall Jim Cornette. I get that he's the boss but showing no fear to Flash during the interview was awful. Is Dinsmore a heel during this? It sure seems like it.
  25. That is one sleazy building. I guess Rev pro was basically a backyard indie at the time. Anyways, This was good even with the interference. Dragon gave TARO a beating. I especially liked when he did the wheelbarrow and slammed TARO's head into the wall. It's good to know Super Dragon was always awesome even back in 2000.
