Observer site has a story up about FTR's option year coming up in 2027 and WWE having "preliminary interest". The story also mentions FTR looking to get paid closer to the level of the top guys in AEW, which they surely deserve, but I can't see this as anything other than them smartly playing the game to get the maximum payout. I can't imagine two guys who literally bleed tag team wrestling wanting to go back to WWE, especially after they just nuked their tag division.

Yeah this may be the best one they've done so far. C&C/FTR, Will/Joe, Mox/Kyle. and MJF/Darby were all great and Takeshita/Okada was an all timer. Athena/Mina was good (the crowd was meh because Athena is seldom on AEW TV and Mina usually loses), and the 4 way women's title match was good once it got going, and we finally got Stat/Shida to brawl after dragging it out for no obvious reason.

He doesn't always go full speed these days, but when he does he's still top level in the world.
-
Takeshita/Okada followed that up with one oft he greatest matches I've ever seen, holy shit.
-
That was fucking crazy, and of all the people involved I wasn't expecting Big Stoke to take the flaming table bump.
-
Opening with FTR vs Cope/Cage, they aren't fucking around tonight.

Animal's widow has been on social media calling that episode bullshit, so something's going on there.

two things stay with me from that (other than the obvious) 1. Lawler's face when he came back to the announce table. Him trying not to say what he clearly wanted to say (he just saw a guy die), while trying to hold it together was haunting. 2. When announcers are trying to put something over seriously and people call it the "Owen voice", it always feels a bit icky.

Why did the WCW Georgia Dome show sell so many tickets?
sek69 replied to Kadaveri's topic in Pro Wrestling
WCW was probably at their absolute peak at that time, that's most of the reason. Factor in that Atlanta was more or less their home town, all the signs were there this was going to be a sellout. -
LOL not them accidentally revealing Cathy Kelley is doing the interview barefoot so she wouldn't be as tall/taller than the Miz.

Honestly, Talla Tonga might even end up as something since he moves better than most WWE giants (a fact Wade even brought up on commentary). His biggest problem is he's just super green, people forget was just starting his career when the family left New Japan to go to WWE.
-
I know some folks aren't keen on Tama Tonga, but he deserves better than this MFT shit. Him and Nakamura could probably be having a fun little midcard feud, but instead he's stuck playing the second banana to the Temu Tribal Chief. They should have just kept him and Tanga Loa as the G.O.D. and let them do their thing, but instead they kept the other brother because of his size and both are in this dead as fuck faction.

Chelsea's tweets are more like a wink wink in character thing than anything else, it's mostly her being herself but in a way that nods to her character. Meanwhile we also have Becky Lynch copying Trump's style of unhinged tweeting both online and on TV for heel heat, which has always been surprising and amusing to me considering who she works for.

To be fair, she did the Cactus Jack deal because she got booked in a hardcore match. The joke was someone who normally does a Karen gimmick going full Cactus.

Willow getting hurt sucks, it's like being a top woman in AEW is cursed at this point.

I'm a mark for a superheavyweight that can move, so I like this Mason Rook guy.

At least pro wrestling is honest about what it is lol

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
sek69 replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
AMC+ is doing a deal where you can get a year for $29.99 in case anyone has morbid curiosity about TNA (like me lol) -
Mark Briscoe might be my favorite person in wrestling right now, him just walking into the Conglomeration's promo and just unleashing some crazy Mark Briscoe shit while everyone fights for their lives not to corpse got a pop from me.

That was the terms they released him on while awaiting sentence, he's going to jail for sure now the only question is for how long.
-
Cuatero got sentenced to 12 years and 8 months for attempted femicide. With credit for time he already has served in jail he still has 10 years left. Good riddance, and I hope Stephanie Vaquer has an excellent steak dinner with the finest wine tonight.

I love when AEW has shows in different venues like this, Darby and PAC throwing each other in sand traps gave me fun memories of WCW Spring Break shows.

A yearly showcase of NXT talent is a pretty cool idea, not sure if doing the first one in a rebuilding year is ideal or not.

All the lucha sickos just shouted at their TVs at the claim of this being the first 2 night Triplemania.

Love seeing Danhousen being able to show he can work in the ring here.
