  1. I would say at least part of the answer is Japan's public transportation system (even back then) makes it easier for fans to attend shows in the city as opposed to outlying areas. G
  2. The funny thing is Hulk started getting booed pretty quickly after starting in WCW but of course his ego wouldn't accept it. Then they did that "dark side of Hulk Hogan" deal where he wore all black and was basically a prototype Hollywood Hogan, but that didn't last long either. Of course there's also them having to do the angle where Eric Bischoff was presumed kidnapped by Hall and Nash and not in the booth for Bash at the Beach because he was backstage making sure Hulk didn't change his mind over doing the turn.
  3. Apparently Rhea got the rona and that's why Liv was out there solo tonight.
  4. Huh, unifying the tag team titles too? Are they really going to end the split this time?
  5. It's odd seeing commercials for a spring football league that probably won't last more than a year or two during Raw and Vince somehow isn't involved.
  6. MVP is not only 100% right in storyline, he's also blowing Lashley away on the mic. Rough night for Big Bob.
  7. KO gonna fuck around and end up getting this Ezekiel nonsense over out of sheer will
  8. The heirs to Ric and Dusty battling it out
  9. I will say Veer has the best hair in wrestling, it's like prime Kevin Nash level.
  10. Rey must be rethinking staying with WWE to help his son's career at this point.
  11. Well it could easily be that Vince signed Cody and while he was coming up with a plan Seth demanded a match so Vince could kill two birds with one stone. Makes storyline sense and it puts over Vince which is the main goal of WWE.
  12. cubsfan speculated on the luchablog that Park probably realized he was on the way out (and going to be asked to to jobs) and decided to leave with a bang. The old "what are they gonna do, fire me"" play. The video of the whole deal doesn't look particularly violent other than one of the Parka kids absolutely blasting Hammerstone with a chairshot to the back, (which by the way he no sold despite it legit lacerating the back of his head, holy shit) there really wouldn't have been anything a fan would have thought of as amiss. Brilliant move by Park and proof that being an old school carny crosses all international borders. Dude got to lay out the guy (Fatu) he was matched up with on the next taping and probably be asked to job to, got fired when he was probably going to be let go soon anyway and as such didn't have tp do any jobs, and can go back to Mexico where promoters there won't give any shits that he upset some gringoes.
  13. Plot twist, anyone who made it the whole 7 hours won the tournament
  14. Yeah J Cup 95 was probably the first tape I bought, and I remember thinking "wow who's this Otani guy" since he wasn't the one most people raved about.
  15. Man this is horrible, Otani's been a favorite of mine ever since he was the first WCW cruiserweight champ. Wrestling really needs to stop with the moves to the turnbuckle already. Every time I see one they're just daring something like this to happen.

Sammy absolutely seems like a Randy Orton type who can be a babyface if need be but is normally a million times better as a heel.
  17. Fightful stated NJPW is able to get visas for foreign talent again like they could pre-COVID so barring any disasters G1 this year is probably going to be bonkers.

The people had no reason to give a shit about Yuta when the PAC match happened, since as stated he was just the dude in the with Best Friends. To see the reaction he gets now is a master class in how to elevate someone in a short period of time.

Moxley's "what the fuck got into THAT guy" reaction after the match was great. Yuta's transformation into a violence machine worthy of William Regal has been magnificent.
  20. In a vacuum, it doesn't really make much difference but it's just stupid to change people's names because the boss has a hard on for complete control. It's one thing to give some recruit in the PC a goofy new name, doing it to an established wrestler both in and out of the WWE system just comes off as insulting to fans. Especially when the crowd is chanting WALTER and both announcers have to claim they really are saying GUNTHER. It just makes everyone involved look stupid as hell.
  21. Even AAA would be a good get, a lot of the old Triplemanias were pretty great.
  22. The low key golden goose IMO is if they somehow get CMLL involved. They have zero interest/ability to do anything with their library, and would probably be interested if the check was big enough. It would be an absolute game changer in terms of lucha history,
  23. Not to mention it was already exposed that WWE was paying to get access to fast national ratings, then releasing then to friendly Twitter accounts...but only on weeks AEW was down (which is how the whole thing got exposed).
  24. Yeah Park's usual MO is to piss off promoters and the local Lucha Commissioners by doing stuff like brawling in the crowd when told not to. Apparently Park has some long lasting resentment about how he was treated in WCW and was trying to teach his sons to be tough guys or something. Also lucky for MLW that Davey Richards was there who works in the ER for his shoot job and was able to help the guys who got busted open.
  25. He also competed in the 1968 Olympics in the same weight class as Bob Roop, which kind of blew my mind when I read it.
