  1. I loved it and what it was building to, but I also immediately thought it would sour the mouths of fans who largely bond over hating WWE shit. You absolutely have to do a heat segment once in a while to really jolt a program, but since WWE does it nearly all the time it poisons the well for anyone else.
  2. Andrade/PAC being off the PPV is a bummer, but bumping the women's battle royal to the main show might mean we get someone like Ruby showing up.
  3. I thought they were fine as background fodder in the Bullet Club, but then I wasn't watching NJPW on TV every week to burn me out on them.
  4. In rare case of social media being good, Daffney was live on Instagram looking in bad shape and talking about suicide and Wrestling Twitter mobilized to alert the local PD. She apparently moved recently so no one seems to know her exact location but seeing everyone working together to try to get her help was a great thing to see. Hopefully it has a positive ending.
  5. I love how they built up how effective the cage is, so you know the Bucks are effed at the PPV.
  6. A lot of guys either being cut or leaving because they no longer fit the mold of the Vinceavision version of NXT are gonna end up being another reason AEW is going to have the "cool place to be" vibe.
  7. He wasn't good at them from the start like he was with pretty much everything else, and quickly got the idea it doesn't matter since he was getting over anyway.
  8. I dunno, he sure won't go to AEW but I wonder how much more he can take and just pulls a Shane and goes off to wander in the woods or something. The one thing that has remained consistent with Hunter are the stories of his ego and his crazy level of insecurity. I don't know how he puts up with his current gig which seems to not amount to more than being a punchline.
  9. Saying Hunter wouldn't be bigger than CM Punk is some real in-the-bubble thinking, IMO. Again, not saying I want it to happen but getting the guy who was running your opposition to join the team would be the biggest FU they could give WWE. Come to think of it, I do kind of wish for it to happen just to see everyone's head explode, and trust and believe if that did happen *everyone's* head would explode on all sides of the argument. Hell at this point, it might be the preferred move for him instead of just sitting there getting cucked as Vince moves in and starts running his baby.
  10. Honestly, him to AEW could be this generation's version of Hulkster jumping ship. Not saying I particularly *want* that to happen, mind you. I can just picture him doing a promo on Dynamite like "no one knows about that organization up north more than me, BROTHER".
  11. After reading about Broski on his podcast talking about Hunter making fun of him and saying creating the Internet title was something that would get him beat up by the boys 10 years ago, this news is all the more delicious. Dude's getting it hard from karma right about now.
  12. Vince's first creative idea for new NXT will be to have Hunter in a clown gimmick as Clyde McTinyPenis.
  13. I'm guessing FCW NXT, which actually wasn't all that bad.
  14. Also this has to be the most spectacular flameout we've seen in a long time. Uncle Paul getting so publicly pantsed by both the competition and his own company has been amazing to see.
  15. LOLHUNTER aside, how the fuck is Vince going to have the time to produce yet another show? I know NXT is taped (for now, USA is pissed about that), but adding another show on a 70 something year old who's notorious for overwork doesn't sound like a solid plan.
  16. That injury was gnarly, but I get the impression they're just working.
  17. Considering she got herself in a position where Nia could have pulled her shoulder apart like a chicken wing had she chosen to (and Jimmy Smith even pointed it out on commentary which I'm sure got him an earful), I'm guessing no.
  18. Could you imagine Park/Mox? Or Park/Eddie? Or Park/Mox/Eddie trio?
  19. I just realized something just now posting about Rush in the lucha thread. Andrade made it clear he wants all of his family in AEW eventually and that includes Rush, who he considers a brother. You guys know what that means if he pulls it off? Yeah, you'll get the original Ingobernables in AEW, but it also means there's a very good chance Rush would want to bring in the guy he made a lot of money with around the horn in Mexico. The guy who would complete the "wrestling on TNT and all is right with the world" vibe like Tully, Arn, and Sting. The biggest star in the history of Nitro. LA PARK IN AEW. GIVE THE CHAIRMAN HIS THRONE BACK COACH TONY!
  20. Rush has had a bad knee for a while, but him suddenly needing to get surgery right now (when he dropped the title in a way that made it clear he could have won, and would have been expected to put over the new champ since his contract is up at the end of the year) is a move that somewhere has HBK doing a slow clap. Now can be healed up just in time for his deal to end and bring the OG Ingobernables to AEW. He just "that doesn't work for me, brother"d his way out of ROH.
  21. Drew Mac deserves GOAT status just for normalizing Scottish accents for Vince.
  22. WWE needs to use this wedding angle as the jumping off point for IndDex to have an Addams Family "weird ass married couple who are madly in love with each other" gimmick. I need to see Indi as Morticia for....uhh... scientific reasons.
  23. I actually do like his wrestling, but his entire personality with this "cool Kyle" gimmick is like, industrial sized dork-assedness.
  24. Also, and this needs to be said every time he's on TV, Kyle O'Reilly is a fucking dork.
  25. Charlotte has a history of slapping people in the face when she thinks they aren't cooperating (she did it to Kairi not knowing she was concussed AF) and she did it to Nia right before it looked like they were about to have a hockey fight. Bryan had a pretty good breakdown of what he thought happened and it makes sense: 1. Nia, either on her own or because she was told to, decided to work more like a monster because she was going over. In the process, she does what she's known for and nearly drops Charlotte on her head. 2. After the above happening and Nia deciding to basically no sell a pin attempt, Charlotte was clearly pissed at what she had to think was Nia either being sloppy/trying to big time her. She takes the opportunity to deliver a slap that looked like it had some zest on it. 3. Nia tagged her with some not-shoot-but-harder-than-worked punches, ie the Brock Lesnar "Calm the Fuck Down" Special. Charlotte didn't seem to get the memo and looked like she was going to square up and Nia had a "is this b for real?" face and the next few moments were just them half trying to do a cooperative match and half on defense in case shit goes down. In hindsight, putting the sloppy worker in with the worker who gets pissed to the point of slapping face if things don't go to plan wasn't the best idea. In another era, Bill Watts would send Meiko a plane ticket to Orlando along with a Disney Pass that just happened to have Nia's training schedule on it.
