Then someone should have told Paul that HHH was taking his wife to Motorhead concerts, lol.
-
Everyone would be better off pretending that gimmick didn't exist. I was falling down a JCP rabbit hole a while back and he popped up in I think 85 and he looked even worse than he did in the WWF.
-
If you read between the lines, it seemed pretty apparent that his inability to convince Vince Sr to keep the belt on him triggered a depression in him that seemed to grease the skids into drug use (well...*more* drug use I suppose, seemed like everyone was doing some level of drugs at that time).
-
Yeah, it's not like CMLL has some insurmountable problems that need fixed. Literally all it takes to turn things around there is for someone in charge to give the slightest of shits about putting on an entertaining card. Hell, they could just not go out of their way to fuck with people's money in a part of the world still taking a beating from covid and it would improve things there. Instead you have real estate millionaires acting like it will break the bank to pay non poverty wages.

Didn't Billy say (in his book or something) that the karate gimmick was at the height of his drug use? I would assume that probably explain his rapidly aging appearance and his charisma disappearing. Dude was like the Rock, Dusty, and Hogan rolled into one and a few years later he was like a jobber in a 70s kung fu movie.

Some post show hijinx from Punk, Christian, and Kaz. Christian making "I wasn't disappointed" jokes makes me think he lurks on PWO lol.
-
I guess they are doing this to have Jericho on every show to add star power, but all you need is Excalibur and Taz. I suppose if you really want a 3 man booth you can put Henry out there as the World's Largest Beth Phoenix and just have him read off random factoids.

Mark Henry seems miscast as an announcer, he's great as the guy in the middle during those side by side promos egging both guys on.
-
That was a really good show, Friday continues to be the night of the A shows.
-
lol Happy Corbin just jacked Cameron Grimes' gimmick.
-
I suppose having Bianca battle through three others made her look heroic or whatever, but it's just such tired WWE logic that the former champ has to beat jabronies who've done nothing but lose (and Liv) to get a rematch. Paul and the Usos' interactions are golden.

Time to watch Smackdown, if it popped bubba KawadaSmile this much it has to be good.
-
Oh shit a Miro/Eddie program!
-
So Bucks/Lucha Bros is gonna be balls out, Punk/Darby will be great just for the atmosphere alone, and Kenny/Christian will be a great match (even if it wasn't the one we wanted for this show). All Out looks to be pretty solid no matter what else happens.
-
Fenix is so next level great it's scary. A Bucks/Lucha Bros cage match is gonna be BANANA.
-
Man I want to believe they won't, but with their track record....woof
-
Hunter really got a pass for his Nazi-adjacent imagery mainly due to "oh he's just a Motorhead fan", which is ironic because Lemmy would frequently get side eyes over it (at least in that case, Lemmy would just insist he is a WWII memorabilia enthusiast)

It sure doesn't look like the old Nu Metal logo, that's for sure.
-
Also it sure seems this rift in the Dark Order with guys not happy with Evil Uno as the defacto leader sure seems like they are building up to have Bray fill that role.
-
Vince will throw Smackdown a bone occasionally, but it just seems implanted in his brain at this point that Raw is always going to be the A show. Even if the quality says otherwise.
-
Also Mistico II recorded a goodbye video sitting in the stands at Arena Mexico before he let CMLL know he was leaving, which is hilarious.
-
The only reason Rush and Dragon Lee didn't shit on CMLL after they were let go is they didn't want to make things harder on their brother who was still there. Wonder if that will change now.
-
Yeah, I'm saying he would have known the due date (maybe not the exact date but close enough) when they started heating him back up. Once you know how far along a pregnancy is you can do the math and figure it out. I knew about halfway through when to expect the birth of my kid, and while it's not always spot on, it's close enough to give your boss a heads up to not start booking a major PPV around you.
-
Yeah it's not a "WWE is fucked" situation, they just are trying to please both masters at the same time which is made harder by being run by an old man with the attention span of a 5 year old with ADHD. Any other company in the world would love to have the problem of juggling multiple billion dollar TV deals, it's just that you know WWE is going to find some way to bungle that's what they do now.

What I don't get is clearly the plans were to do Kenny/Hangman, but then Page went out on paternity leave. Did he just not tell Tony until two months prior that he had a baby due? That's not something that sneaks up on you.
