Sami entering through the people was good shit.

What a deflating end to one of the best title runs in WWE (non Roman division). However not all is lost, Uncle Paul finally replaced those stupid looking tag belts that stayed around way too long.

Based on teases it seems like they are going to bring back the Wyattverse with Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy. I suppose they could bring back Braun along with Rowan, and I'd assume Alexa would want to be a part of this too (plus news came out she's hitting the gym to get ready to return). I'm not sure how to feel about it to be honest. Clearly there's a brother's desire to keep his idol's legacy going, and there's no longer endless meddling in creative.....but it's going to be tough to not come off as a TV show trying to keep going after the most popular character left. It seems Hunter was a big fan of Bray as a person and a creative mind so he's probably going to all he can to make it work, and I really hope it does.

I appreciate TK showing the footage just so we could see Joe bringing the "ah shit, here we go again" energy. Dude barely reacted to chaos breaking out only a few feet away.

Stephanie Vaquer retaining is interesting, but then CMLL seems to be paying more attention to their women's roster.

Really nice to see Bayley getting her flowers, she always seemed like the forgotten one of her generation even though she's the best worker of the bunch.

Yes. Even if the product hadn't caught fire, the TV would have been 100% better just for the lack of announcers speaking like aliens who haven't quite mastered human grammar and nausea inducing camera cuts.

It immediately made me think of JYD stuff when I heard they were going to do it, considering the motivation for both was clearly "promoter pissed about losing their top draw". Also I think people keep forgetting folks were mad at the fake Diesel stuff even before the "reveal" since it was clearly going to be bait and switch bullshit no matter what happened. WWF was making the fans not tuned into the backstage news think it was actually going to be Kevin Nash and Scott Hall showing up, to the point of having respected and trusted announcer JR be the one to make the announcement. It wouldn't have been obvious to those fans that JR was setting up a heel turn

Matt wearing a SCAPEGOAT shirt in case you were still wondering if this is building to an angle with Jack.

A large part of how ECW got built as the cool alternative was Paul E, either directly or through proxies, cutting promos on TV about how WCW and WWF were all a bunch of pussies and I expect this is what Tony is going for since he was an ECW mark.

Wrestling companies taking shots at each other is a tale as old as time and it's part of the fun IMO.

Jericho, Hook, and Shibata is right out of the WAR random six man team generator.

They actually did a good job of making it make sense for them to show the footage in the context of their match vs FTR. They had to deal with their buddy being a dipshit during their biggest show ever and it makes sense they'd be distracted in storyline because of it. Plus it set up FTR cutting a fire promo in response that put over their match as an even bigger deal and surely had some real feelings attached to it as well to really add some flavor. I still don't think they HAD to do this, but this was the best possible way they could have done it.

Did not expect to see Edge go full lucha either.

It's not Bryan's Final Fiesta of Dream Matches, but Edge vs Penta is sure not something I'd ever expect to see happen.

I mean how many times have we seen promoters be petty to the detriment of their own interests? Looking at you, Uncle Eric. At least if they use their pettiness to build business, that's a positive even if they didn't have the purest intentions. Tony was pretty pissed at the statements Punk made in that interview, it's almost like Punk thinks they'd never show the footage so he could just say some bullshit and get away with it. Also Meltzer noted that while he might not have put it on TV, Vince would have 100% reacted the same way pointing out when Punk made his famous claims on the Cabana podcast he immediately got sent videos and pics showing he didn't have the giant growth on his back he claimed to have.
-
Maybe Smackdown? He was apparently telling people over the weekend he signed with WWE. I wonder if he's bringing Zilla with him.
-
Jack was doing Young Bucks spots in his latest match so it seems like this is going to be part sticking it to Punk and part actual storyline advancement. Also Meltzer noted that people both inside and outside of AEW saw the footage and everyone agreed Punk should be fired over it so whatever it shows is probably not going to look good for him.

So Bron cut a promo after the show stating he's done with NXT at this point so dropping the tag titles tonight was his blowoff for now. Here's hoping he cuts a promo where he says he's going to start using the Steiner name again. I actually am a fan of the AOP, unfortunately they are stuck with the heatless and useless Kross for the foreseeable future.
