  1. Another good Dynamite imo, I like how they aren't just pushing Mercedes into the world title picture straight away since there's actually storyline reasons to pair her off with Willow right now.
  2. I don't think there's anyone as good as making their opponents look good as the Bucks.
  3. I assume that's going to be the direction after Mania.
  4. Having videos of main roster guys putting over Trick vs Melo as a huge deal makes this feel even bigger than most NXT main events.
  5. The Mania build is obviously getting all the hype but Stand and Deliver is looking pretty solid as well. Trick vs Melo, Lyra vs Roxxane, and the build for the tag title match have all been very good. Dragunov vs Tony isn't doing it for me just because i don't buy Tony as an actual threat, but Dragunov never disappoints so I'm expecting the match will bang.
  6. Indeed. Sometimes bookers (and fans like us) get too wrapped up in trying to reinvent the wheel when the tried and true stories work for a reason.
  7. Somehow I don't think it's a coincidence that once Vince was out of power suddenly WWE suddenly has been having some of the greatest babyface performances in decades. Not saying Uncle Paul is perfect but he's letting people cook which most of the time that's all you need to do when you have the level of talent they do.
  8. All that was missing was Cody saying "MAKE IT GOOD"
  9. Punk asking Drew what paragon of virtue named him the chosen one was interesting on several levels.
  10. I love that Punk seems to just be shooting this whole segment.
  11. Rock could have easily coasted for this run and no one would have really blamed him, but him going all out heel has made this 100% better.
  12. Happy birthday to my kid, and Cody is selling the hell out of this angle.
  13. The US had an economic decline in the 70s and that didn't seem to destroy any wrestling territories. I'm sure houses were down a little in some markets but it was also probably the biggest the NWA was in terms of success.
  14. Funny enough he main evented the GCW show I watched last night against Matt Cardona.
  15. My go-to is how when World Class was hot, the Sportatorium was packed to the rafters and young me wanted to go there so bad. Didn't matter that it was a piece of shit old barn, the atmosphere was amazing.
  16. What I don't get is that it didn't seem to be doing the usual tailspin we'd see in Dallas and in the AWA. As a fan it was like one day Watts just said "fuck it", sold everything to Crockett and peaced out.
  17. He's been doing this since he was 14, and he's gonna be 50 this year. Has there been anyone else who's been so consistently good for so long?
  18. ...and what better person to hire than someone so extremely punchable as Russo?
  19. It's mindblowing that Ospreay is just as money on the mic as he is in the ring. Dude has charisma for days.
  20. Heel Okada is so amazingly great.
  21. As someone who was a big Freebirds mark as a kid, the Terry Gordy episode hit pretty hard for me. I knew he wasn't the same after the plane incident but seeing how bad it got was a rough watch.
  22. In my mind Becky got to visit the White House and meet Biden and the President of Ireland was a reward for convincingly conveying interest in a feud with Nia.
  23. Also rip to all the mormons wondering why LDS is trending on twitter.
  24. Yeah I thought it seemed fishy that "reports" about people being unhappy about Rock being allowed to say cuss words. Now I can buy Fox not being happy about it, but anyone who's ever played sports (which most of the people in WWE have) know the star QB is going to be able to get away with shit the punter couldn't.
  25. Angle was pretty good, but a lot of people in the biz were marks for having a legit gold medalist in their ranks.
