  1. The whole point of Vince interviewing Melanie was to make it clear Brian was doing drugs so the company could claim it wasn't their fault. Probably the most disgusting thing he's ever done.
  2. Yeah Kim was known to be Brian's #1 advisor/confidant, and as the episode showed him and Dave were the only two people Brian wouldn't ever try to work (mostly because he knew both would call him on his bullshit). Eric was basically the human version of dril's "I'm not owned" tweet in this episode, and JR just crushed me when he was talking about Brian Jr saying he has a lot of his dad's good qualities and hopes he doesn't get his dad's bad ones.
  3. Woof. It's not like there wasn't AEW footage of Brian Jr. on that very same documentary. Plus Maffew (the Botchmania guy) has said his issue was with YouTube's content system and that AEW has been helping him out with it.
  4. Also there's a difference between a 2002-2004 Raw promo where the champ says the challenger is a nobody and then completely flattens them in the match to prove to the fans they were a nobody, and one where the champ says the challenger is a nobody then in the match the challenger takes it to him and beats his ass until the champ has to cheat to hang on. One completely reinforces to your fanbase that the challenger is a chump and the other reinforces that the champ took this guy lightly and had to resort to cheating like a little bitch to win.
  5. I just saw it as Kenny being a douchebag heel who thinks he's 1986 Ric Flair. To me it seems like he's trying too hard to be unlikable and he's coming off like a geek at times.
  6. Maybe I'm old school but I always prefer regular teams to have names instead of just "Wrestler X and Wrestler Y". Yeah Dirty Dawgs is kind of a dumb name, but then again so is Dolph Ziggler.
  7. I love how it seems like Ziggler & Roode seemingly went into business for themselves by naming their team the Dirty Dawgs since WWE looks like they are going out of their way not call them that.

    AEW Dark Megathread

I could imagine the combo if RT'ing far right politicians and apparently having heat with someone they clearly are investing time in is not going to go well for Shanna's prospects.
  9. Man, watching the Pillman ep now is just devastating to see how fucked up his family was yet how much he loved his kids. JR talking about going to Brian's funeral thinking about how this should never be a part of his job was powerful stuff. On a lighter note, it was hilarious to see Eric still believing he was in on the work 23 years later with the whole release deal. To be fair, it 100% comes off that he completely believes what he's saying, but it was funny to see literally everyone else who would know (Kim Wood, Dave, Jim Cornette) basically say "yeah that mf got worked".
  10. Yeah I get what he's saying, but more eyeballs were on the Impact belt with Nakazowa wearing it than any of the last dozen actual Impact champs. As long as they aren't throwing it in a trash can on Dynamite they should be happy with it.
  11. Well Blood and Guts largely delivered what was promised even with the Jericho pillow bump. The PPV was built on seeing shit get blowed up and didn't deliver so it seems like that would be a difference. Also next week's show is so ridiculously stacked I don't see how anyone would skip it based on one bump.
  12. He was trying to use the Pillman deal as an example of someone who made their decision solely based on who gave him the most money, and may have had regrets about it later on. I think that might explain the "Did he buy a Humvee" line. If I'm doing the usual read between the lines Meltzer translation, it seemed to me like he was saying Bryan went with the money the last time he signed and maybe he was second guessing that choice now.
  13. I mean, that's kind of what is happening tho. If people were mocking Jericho's obvious blading/spot calling I would say that's fair game for jokes. Mocking the same kind of bump that Shane does in every match seems a little disingenuous to me. If anything I would make the case if they were going to do a bump off the cage spot, literally anyone else in the match would have been a better call than Jericho.
  14. Could it have been shot better to not show as much of the crash pad? Of course. What I don't get is all the snickering this one got when every Big Bump in WWE/NXT also has an obvious crash pad that normally is just as visible. It just seems like a lot of it is people trying to take a minor blunder and bad faith it up.
  15. I was thinking more LMAO at the person who seemingly tries to kill herself with dangerous spots in every match she's in trying to clown on someone trying to be safe.
  16. I still want a Netflix series where it's Mox and Kingston going around just being bros, and occasionally stopping to murder people.
  17. Dusty was his dad, and Ric Flair was his favorite wrestler as a kid. We should be lucky he doesn't walk around with a crimson mask 24/7.
  18. All in all, that was a fantastic War....uhh.... BLOOD AND GUTS match. The NXT ones are fine, but double ring/cage with weapons and no blood will never not be lame to me, and this match delivered everything I was hoping to see.
  19. All the commercials sucked, but if they run this again on a PPV at some point it will instantly get praised for not being interrupted.
  20. No one's gonna confuse this with the version that NXT uses, that's for sure.
  21. Kenny has to face someone he can beat since he obviously has plans with Impact and AAA (Andrade at TriipleMania).
  22. OK, I lol'ed at Nakazawa being Kenny's personal belt carrier.
  23. Breaking news: Britt continues to be awesome.
  24. You can't set up two rings near Arn without him feeling his oats, lol.
  25. Add in the WWE #ForTheBrand stans that will turn on him just for having the gall to work somewhere not WWE, that number will probably be closer to 50%
