  1. Zoey Stark beating Toni Storm on the Takeover pre show was unexpected, it looks like WWE sees something in her so that's promising at least.
  2. Yeah there's no reason for AEW to do anything major this week, it would be like releasing a new movie when the next Marvel blockbuster is coming out.
  3. Funny thing is this is the one week they're likely to lose the ratings no matter what since they are going up against a PPV quality NXT show.
  4. She could be doing the Ding Dong Hello skits to keep her on TV so it would be easier to heat her up for whatever feud is next, but I suppose that's why I'm not making the big bucks booking WWE and they're keeping one of their best stars on ice.
  5. It's more than not having anything to do at Mania, Bayley hasn't had a match at all since February. She said there's no injuries so they've had the person who was the star of the women's division on the bench for month since they apparently can only book so many women's programs at once.
  6. Man, the Titus thing just....I dunno. It doesn't upset me because the guy does a great deal of work with the community and by all accounts is great person, and he deserves to be honored. It's just how much this smacks as a make good by WWE for using him as a meat shield so they can trot the Hulkster out in public, It guess I'm mad at how they can make everyone side eye someone getting honored for genuinely good works because they just MUST have a racist be the co host of their biggest show.
  7. It was always my understanding that Baba created the PWF and its title to be the #1 "homegrown" sanctioning body like how New Japan had the IWGP.
  8. Yesterday was the most nothing-happening Wrestlemania go home show I can ever recall. I don't know if the whole Peacock thing is distracting them or what, but it seems like there was the bare minimum of effort put in to...practically everything other than making sure Drew gets cheered,
  9. Oh don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with being vegan, it's just there's an overlap between the militant vegan mindset and anti vaxxers.
  10. So it looks like Bea Priestley is WWE bound. She announced after her match at the Stardom PPV that it was her last match there. She's leaving Japan and didn't say anything about what US promotion she's headed to which everyone is assuming to mean the one you're not allowed to mention you're headed to (WWE).
  11. I would assert that people underrate Aries because his best work came in places not many people were paying attention to, largely in Impact. Back then his most publically annoying trait was being a walking stereotype of the Irritating Vegan, which looking back we should have known it was going to lead to what he became since that tends to be a gateway drug for the anti vax mindset.
  12. I know they're working an angle, but it reminded me how Lana is at the top of "she's been doing this for so long, how has she not gotten any better at it yet?" list.
  13. Factions are a good way to get more people included in angles and storylines, and since AEW has a lot of people and not a lot of TV time it seems like a good way to try to get as many people in the mix as possible. People who stop watching AEW (or any promotion really) over there being too many factions seems like a mythical being that no one has actually confirmed exists. It seems like the wrestling version of people on Twitter who have young children who suddenly have in depth political opinions (or wrestling reporters who talk to their barbers about Bad Bunny). It just doesn't seem to exist IRL.
  14. Yeah Tamina seems to be very well liked by the other women, and she seems like a generally nice person IRL as well. It kinda sucks that she gets her dad's past attached to her as if she was helping him cover up the murder as a 6 year old.
  15. Yeah but...I wouldn't say shit to Brock's face though. Yeah he'd face consequences but I don't think whatever settlement I'd get would be worth the probable lifetime pain and paralysis lol.
  16. I love Daniel Bryan getting vicious and taking everyone out, but it also made me a little mad because it means they still remember how to make a strong looking babyface but for some reason largely choose not to do so.
  17. I would think this particular title is so the people on the New Japan Strong show have something to do instead of only having tournaments?
  18. There's zero chance AEW is going to be mentioned on the WWE Network, and even if it does it will get edited out. Austin's a good interviewer and would know it's something that has to be mentioned, but I don't see it being aired on the show. Maybe Austin will release the "Snyder Cut" version on his own.
  19. Anything could happen, but I would bet against it going the WCW route if for no other reason being the guy in charge has specifically noted WCW as something he learned from in terms of not following the footsteps of.
  20. It's a cool name in a vacuum, but considering his gimmick it comes off as a little tryhard: "he's a psycho who's probably a serial killer, and he's named after that serial killer from TV and the doctor from Halloween! It's GOLD Jerry!"
  21. Well I certainly wasn't including you in that group, but go on I suppose.
  22. Yeah an the WWE stans are always quick to point out "THEY PICKED THEIR NAMES" as if they were the ones who made the list they have to pick from.
  23. Who cares if a name s better if you can't own the rights in perpetuity! Can't let the talent feel they can have any ownership of their likeness, dammit!
  24. I suppose watching the last decade of WWE has caused me to have a higher tolerance for crap, but the not good stuff in AEW seems easier to bear. I suppose a lot of it comes from most of AEW's misses coming from trying new stuff that doesn't always click, which makes it easier to take.
  25. Aries seems like every bully you run into in school who talks all kinds of shit then cries when someone gets tired of his shit and decks him.
