Yeah that looks like his sister who was doing a backstage interviewer gig for MLW, who always makes me double take because she looks so much like him.
-
That was wacky, and I'd understand if it wasn't someone's cup of tea, but it was fun and I liked it.

This being the main event means Miro has to be turning here, I hope?
-
That was a fun if not a little messy tag match

She has before, I believe.

Bringing out the AAA title is a next level troll heel move considering Kenny won it from Fenix.

That Pinnacle/Inner Circle brawl was great, Sammy murdering Spears probably babyfaced him for life.

Well since I was posting in the wrong thread like a doofus, I'll reiterate here that I'm OK with this since it seems AEW is adding more young guys to the mix and that Olympic boxer dude looks like he could be money.
-
QT THE DESTROYER OF RHODES I'm OK with this being the kick off of QT leading a bunch of young ass kickers, that Ogogo dude the Olympic boxer look like he could be a star. Also LOL at Red Velvet in the "this was obviously written before Brandi got pregnant" role.

Jade is one person who got screwed by the pandemic by being absolute money other than being completely green, and there's really nothing that anyone can do about it since there's nowhere she can go to get extra work.

Basically gender swap Karrion Kross and Scarlet.
-
Dave did mention that once travel gets back to some semblance of normal there was plans to have more cross pollination of AEW and New Japan.

With Daniel, it was because he was too open and honest when he mentioned he had post concussion type symptoms at one time and it spooked WWE doctors. Edge I believe had another surgery on his neck that wasn't an option at the time when he retired that improved his situation (not that I think he should be taking bumps now). Christian got iced for too many concussions so I wonder what changed with him.
-
He's facing Kaz, so I'm sure the match itself will be good. Honestly I'm still wondering how Christian got cleared after being on the no contact list for so long. Say what you will about WWE, but they usually don't mess around with head and neck injuries.

Also this might be the week Miro finally murders Kip, so there's that to look forward to.

I don't know if it will necessarily die, but I doubt it will be the highest segment of the show. There's always a curiosity factor when someone who was in one promotion for a long time has their first match in a new one. Kenny/Good Brothers vs Lucha Bros/Laredo Kid will be a banger for sure, and cubsfan pointed out the irony that there will be more AAA champions in this match (Kenny and Laredo) than what was on AAA's last taping.

Yeah, from an outsider's perspective it seemed like Baba ran a smooth ship and kept whatever turmoil that did happen under lock and key. That's good for the company, but I would imagine it's a boring subject for anyone looking to write a book or do a podcast about. I would imagine there's a lot of "X wanted to do something wacky and/or get more power in the company but Baba got word and squashed it" that went on.

Is the knock on George Scott for 88-89 run unfair?

He wasn't entirely wrong since it was still a major source of income, but the tide was quickly turning from making money on live shows to making money on TV and PPVs. Neither one was a thing in his heyday, but he clearly didn't get with changing times either. -

There's also the issue of Cornette, who when he's not rolling in the mud being a troll is one of that era's top historians, not being a fan of the guy. It's understandable since him not seeing value in the Midnights would hurt Jim's bottom line as well, but it's something that doesn't always seem to be taken into account by people who read his opinions in a history context. -
They mentioned in the press release they expect higher ratings on Tuesdays due to piggybacking off the momentum of RAW which is such a WWE thing to say for multiple reasons. I mean, what else are they gonna say and all,. but LOL none the less.

Very true, the role of a booker changed a great deal in the post territory era. Not the least of which being the need to get talent over and keep them that way longer rather than the territory way of cycling people in and out to keep them fresh. Who knows how well the great bookers of the past would have been able to manage in an era where everyone stays around for years (or decades if its WWE) rather than a short cycle. -
Yeah that belt design is a solid no from me, dawg. Not sure why they couldn't just update the design of the previous one to have it say World Championship or something. It looks like one of Jeff Hardy's custom belts.

WWE will 100% go after Jungle Boy ay some point just because his dad was a big star in the 90s and that's their target demo lol.

I watched Wrestlemania 3 last night. since I was feeling nostalgic and that was the show that cemented my WWF fandom at he time. It was interesting looking at it in a booking/layout aspect to see how poorly agented it was. There were at least three matches with a "heel does the Stevens/Flair flip over the turnbuckle spot" nearly back to back, and nearly every match with the heels winning had the same "babyface attacks the heel and looks like a poor loser" spot afterwards. I'm also pretty sure Jimmy Hart took more bumps than anyone on the show since he got manhandled in every match his guys were in. Plus in light of the editing Peacock was doing, it was interesting to hear Gorilla describe Alice Cooper's leather jacket as "something Adrian brought with him out of the closet" which was both homophobic and dumb considering it looked more like something Adrian would have worn prior to the Adorable gimmick.

So per Andrade and then Charlotte, she was taken out of storylines before she got COVID because one of the WWE mandated tests indicated elevated hormones present with pregnancy. They did their own at home test to make sure and it came out negative, but apparently she got COVID not too much later. Already the conspiracy theorists are speculating WWE pulled a fast one on her to cost her a Mania spot, and while that sounds crazy it's also pretty hard to fuck up what one would assume was a lab tested specimen to show pregnancy hormones that weren't there.
