Watching SD now, and seeing Heyman come out with dark hair again made me think he's the Shang Tsung of WWE
-
So this is something.... Not only for obvious "holy shit Mistico in AEW" reasons, but also for a CMLL guy appearing in a promotion that regularly features AAA talent. Rocky must be the sweet-talkingest mf on the planet to keep getting these promotions to work together.

I'm all for dunking on millionaires/billionaires, but 99.999% of the time they've done something to warrant it. What has Tony done, short of not being the greatest booker of women's wrestling *? Try too hard to be the anti-Vince he ended up letting his guys run the roost because he didn't want to be seen as a hard-ass? If it comes out TK and his dad are avowed anti-semites, then fuck them to outer space. I'm not going to bash someone just based on assuming things based on their ethnic/religious background. *Wasn't Kenny booking the women's division back when AEW started? Has that changed or does no one want to say there's something Mr. Seven Stars isn't good at?

I'm wondering if CM Punk, he of the pro trans rights and reproductive rights t shirts, would be petty enough at AEW to sign with the company who does annual blood money shows. Also I'm sure WWE did the math after seeing the last couple years-long trainwreck, and decided whatever money they would make with him wasn't worth all the additional headache and bullshit that goes along with it.

You're used to people telling you to knock it off making wild unfounded accusations? That must mean that happens a lot. I get that tensions are high right now, and if nothing else AEW should get heat for going forward with this angle in light of world events. It comes off as being entirely in the wrestling bubble and unaware of what's happening around you.

I love how the announcers were trying to frame it as a callback to his promo from a while back about being bullied at school, which would be fine if it wasn't also explicitly established in that same promo WHY he was being bullied. That's kind of gross to even imply that, there's literally nothing to suggest that either Khan has ever done anything to suggest they have any negative feelings about Jews just because they are Muslims. Tony in particular strikes me as the type who doesn't even think about those kind of things because he spends all his time playing IRL Football Manager and TNM. Plus even if Shad would happen to feel that way, there's really nothing to suggest he has any role with the company other than being the slightly bemused dad happy that his son's rasslin passion ended up being a nice little moneymaking side hustle.

NXT was a pretty fun show in ring, but I've never been a fan of how WWE on one hand wants NXT to be seen as on the same level as Raw/Smackdown, but they also send folks down there to run over the NXT crew.

Looks like Mox is possibly more injured than he is letting on since he got replaced by Orange.

Once again it's apparent that folks either forget (or were never around to see) what it's like when there's two major national promotions on somewhat equal footing. The normal way it goes is while sometimes there's some overlap, normally one swings up and the other swings down. WWE won't be on fire forever, and interest will dip at some point. AEW will have someone or something catch fire (there's too many talented people there for it not to happen at some point) and interest will rise. The cycle will likely continue forever until either the sun dies or TV networks stop offering billion dollar deals, whichever comes first.

Looked like Cody landed on his own head on the finish and got hurt for a minute, but by the end he seemed fine. This match is going to have so much meat slapping it's going to be fined by the FCC
-
So wait, people actually thought FTR was leaving based on the way they lost the titles? It seemed clear Cash was hurt after the Aussie Open match and they were just doing the deal when the Bulldogs dropped the titles and he was playing the role of Dynamite Kid.
-
If the women's match ends in Jade booting Charlotte's face off, it's the show of the year for me.
-
The crowd waking up to go crazy for Carlito is making it 2-2 in the "things I wasn't expecting" department
-
Each day Montez isn't main eventing is a crime against pro wrestling
-
The Street Lashleys looking like the coolest MFs on the planet
-
Damn you WWE for reminding me I miss Bad News Barrett.
-
Well I certainly didn't expect Cody's first WWE being the tag titles, but that was a fun opener.
-
They just showed Jade arriving on the pre show and meeting Triple H

Once again we have Seth vs Nak in a match that while the build was pretty solid, doesn't have very much doubt as to the outcome. LWO vs the Lashley Profits has some intrigue as far as who's Rey making a phone call to in order to have a third guy. Orton's supposedly been at the PC maybe he's returning? Even if he's not 100% yet a trios match where he can come in and just do a couple things wouldn't be too taxing a return. The women's three way will probably just be reduced to however they plan to set up the Jade reveal, which if that's the case kinda sucks since it seems like Iyo's run with the title has been taking a back seat to everyone else in the division. I get the feeling the Cena/Knight vs Bloodline and Judgment Day vs Cody/Jey are going to end up being angle advancement towards what I suspect will be a big Survivor Series match.
-
So I guess Bloodline/JD vs Cena/Knight/Jey/Cody/Sami/KO for Survivor Series?
-
The crowd reacting to her saying that was amazing, they all acknowledged her as well.
-
He can talk, but I suppose they don't feel it's good enough.

It's funny how quickly most wrestling fans forgot that people going from company to company was what made things better. If someone was getting stale, they'd move to a new promotion and get a boost just from being in a new environment. Now everyone's so tribalistic someone jumping to a new company is seen as a traitor the crazies. Dynamite was a fun show, and I'm wondering who will end up being the one who attacked Jay White.
-
Not that beating Dynamite isn't something they're interested in, but they've been trying to gas up NXT so they can get a fat new TV deal for it since USA is only going to be carrying Smackdown now going forward.

Becky needed 11 stitches on her elbow from that match, which doesn't sound too bad but I imagine that would suck on a bending part of the body.
