It was a close fight, it may have looked different live (Dave often says his opinion who wins changes based on if he was seeing a fight live or on TV) but I felt that giving GSP anything more than two rounds was a gift. That doesn't take away that Dana came off as the white MMA version of Don King last night.

GSP did a post fight promo clearly showing the effects of head trauma from the beating he took, and Dana was basically all "aw, he's fine he'll be back for his next fight" that really made him look bad in our Concussion Aware climate.

Well that's by far WWE's biggest problem. People complain about creative, but clearly they have people who come up with good ideas. The issue is that they get changed around 100x a day before each show. It seems like Vince doesn't have anyone to tell him when something doesn't need changed around, and he's constantly second guessing things.

The actual bump to the buckle seems safe, what scares me is the guy delivering the move really can't see how close he is when doing it. There were a couple times watching ROH TV I thought I was going to see someone's neck broken.

I agree that Gabriel seemed custom made to be the next Jeff Hardy "high flyer with a bit of danger the girls like", and they even seem to sort-of push him that way at times. Not sure why they never went all out with it. I guess the emphasis on less car crash type bumping would be the reason.

What's depressing is if WWE takes anything away from people's reaction (which is a big if in itself), they'll probably assume people are just mad Bryan lost and miss the point completely. I'll admit I really would love to see a potential Bryan-HBK match, but it's just really a turnoff that in 2013 it seems like WWE is now just Hunter and Pals Run Wild. Even when Vince comes back to kick off their big WM angle for control of the company, it's still going to be reruns of shit we saw over and over again. In fact, I would submit to the court that the most damaging thing to pro wrestling in the US has been WWE's idea that the company is the draw rather than the wrestlers. Not only does that fly in the face of over a hundred years of history, it guarantees you'll never create new stars because you've established they are just interchangeable parts.
