Oh man, this 1000x. His reactions to Goldust's antics were the best.

Fun fact I found while looking on WWE's corporate site: The only person on the board of directors who didn't have a photo on their bio page was Kevin Dunn.
-
From WO.com: Should be interesting what this means in terms of the power structure of the company.

Apparently another tidbit that came from that guy's blog is that the Usos got their legs cut out from under them because Vince doesn't understand hip-hop culture. Guess that showed them to try to go outside the approved WWE Samoan stereotype.

I never got the impression he was cribbing from Jericho, just that he was trying to create a distinction from his goofy mid carder persona and his more serious main event champion one. Which now that I think about it, is what Jericho had to do as well so I see where the comparison came from. What other choice would someone like Miz have though? He wouldn't have a prayer being a main eventer being the fedora wearing chick magnet.
-
Then they fast track a guy like Mason Ryan up to the main roster because he looks like Batista, while Daniel Bryan is made to look like a goof who's afraid of girls and he doesn't even get his entrance on TV most weeks despite being US champion.
-
I never understood that mindset, even a little. I wonder how much of a role Miz's success played into that. He's clearly a huge fan and used that as part of his motivation. Also seeing how the wrestlers who were hired during the "no fans" period clearly had no passion for the business, and either quit or just gave up until they got endeavored probably played a part too.

I think that is by far the worst thing about the main WON crew these days, they clearly aren't paying attention to stuff. Not only do they end up getting mad/complaining about wrong things, they then get twice as mad when the proles dare to point out what they missed. Well Bryan definitely, Dave doesn't seem to have enough interest to get mad in the first place or be bothered to go back to see what he missed. What's worse is that it's the exact attitude that makes it hard to refute when people like Bischoff go on rants about sheet writers getting things wrong and then not owning up to it.

I hope whoever decided to have Lawler deliver the line last night about Vickie attending the birth of her next boyfriend truly appreciated the irony.

Macho Madness Returns To WWE.....At Least The WWE All-Stars Game

Today's Herb update mentioned that THQ not only insisted on Hogan being in the game, but that he'd be one of the guys on the cover. Also: Really? I mean, I'd like to hear more about the controls before passing judgment on it as a game, but to say it looks terrible doesn't seem accurate. -

That video even got picked up on game sites like Kotaku where it was framed as Savage and WWE making up after 16 years. What was more surprising is the overwhelming response of "I missed that guy, he was awesome" from their readership. If WWE was half as in tune to the pulse of the "WWE Universe" as they think they are, they'd bring him in for an appearance on Raw. I'd imagine the roof would blow off the place for a moment like that. -
Considering McCool gets to skip houseshows to take care of Taker, the idea that she doesn't get special treatment is laughable. You pretty much never see anyone allowed to miss a show unless it's a main eventer out filming a movie or trying to protect an injury.

This. Still the most douche-chill inducing thing ever on WWE TV, especially her looking like she was coached to say how grateful she was to Vince.
-
Vince would just throw Bryan's papers in his face and walk off in a huff after 5 minutes anyway, so it's a moot point who would fare better in a debate. We've seen enough of Vince in environments he doesn't have 100% control over to know he loses his shit the moment anyone even slightly goes after him.

There's an article in the new Nintendo Power that pretty much gives away Hogan being in the game too, so that makes the current list of known legends 1. Rock 2. Savage 3. Andre 4. Hogan 5. Bret Plus Howard Finkel announcing and JR and Lawler doing commentary. -
TNA trying to prove they don't need Heyman is like breaking up with someone you already got dumped by. Also it's kind of funny the Hammerstein show was the motivation for this, since RAW didn't really start to take off until they stopped taping there every week.

Watching The Giant's WCW PPV debut match vs Hulk Hogan on WWE 24/7, and I can't help but marvel at how that whole period where Hogan had his mustache shaved off and was dressed in all black has been almost completely forgotten by history. Even more so when you consider it seems like it was more or less a test run for what ended up being the Hollywood Hogan gimmick.
-
I always saw it as Vince trying to distance himself from his past. Funny thing is that despite that, he seems to have a fondness for Southern-based gimmicks. When he was an announcer, he always seemed way more excited to see Hillbillies and rednecks more than anyone else. Who else would have come up with a gimmick like Jimmy Wang Yang and kept it around as long as they did?

If Linda's even somewhat considering sticking with politics, there's no way Jeff gets hired back anytime soon.

I always heard that guys were booking their own stuff in ROH, and yet everyone lost that ability for some reason when Pearce took over. Maybe because Pearce wanted to book like ROH was a 70s NWA territory?
-
I thought it was pretty much exposed when guys who were booking their own stuff left ROH that Gabe really wasn't capable of coming up with very many compelling storylines. Individual 5-star matches, definitely. Angles/storylines that make people want to buy tickets and DVDs, not so much. I'll admit I didn't read all of the Facebook slappyfight, but it appears Gabe got butthurt over Mitchell pointing out what you would think would be the obvious.

I would think the Hardys' biggest obstacle to a return to WWE would be their inability to enjoy whatever substances they chose to partake in without YouTube somehow ending up involved.
-
I think it's partly that and also maybe partly due to WWE editing out that line at least a few times when it was aired on a couple of DVD releases. When you watch it now the line sort of stands out since your brain is subconsciously used to it being gone. Personally, I thought it was one of the great announcer performances in WCW ever. Loss already covered Tony being disgusted enough to use mild profanity (which from him had the effect of an f-bomb), and Heenan finally being vindicated but not being able to enjoy it due to the enormity of the situation. Even Mean Gene looked like he wanted to fight someone in the post match interview (which may have been legit since he had to stand in the ring while it was getting bombarded with trash).

That Shawn Michaels/Jeff Jarrett match from In Your House
sek69 replied to Loss's topic in Pro Wrestling
I thought that was pretty much the worst kept secret of the era considering Shawn didn't even try to convince anyone the knee injury wasn't bullshit, and that his drug usage was well on its way to becoming legendary. In fact wasn't that one of the things that drove Bret crazy, how everyone just seemed to accept the official story as true? -
So does WWE have some sort of criteria on which to base if second generation wrestlers get to use their family names? Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr get to keep their famous names (minus the Jr, but that's another Vince quirk) but Joe Hennig and the Rotunda brothers don't. Then you have the Harts: Harry gets to keep his last name and while Natalya doesn't have a last name like most of the women, they mention her father all the time. You could go back further to guys like Carlito and Primo, who didn't have a last name until they started teaming together. Considering half the roster in FCW is second generation, it should be interesting to see who keeps their name and who doesn't.
