I loved his cup of coffee in ECW (him vs Al Snow is a wonderful sprint), is the rest of his body of work like that? I know about as much about Puro as I do about subtlety.

Little Known Facts, Speculations, Scandals and Wrestling Trivia

From first hand knowledge I can confirm that Jimmy Del Ray introduced Rob Van Dam to Marijuana. If I remember it correctly it was in Puerto Rico, and RVD was umming and arring and worried about the effect it would have on him and his body and Jimmy said "I won't fucking hurt you, it won't fucking kill you, so just fucking smoke it!". Van Dam never looked back. -

After Orig Williams, Danny Boy Collins was probably my favourite British wrestler as a child (Third being Tony St. Clair after watching him win a tournament dispatching of PN News and Drew McDonald 30 yards from my house all while wearing a pair of hot pink trunks that 1990 Lex Luger would have been proud of). He always seemed to put in a shift on the EWF/Flesh Gorden shows on Eurosport in 1991 or 1992 or so, always seemed quality on Reslo, and even now one of the more respected names on the current British circuit says that now Brookside's in America, Collins is the only trainer he'd recommend. So it's nice to see you're coming around to him, and that I haven't been wrong to have thought him ace all these years based on childhood enthusiasm. Now for the same for Orig. -
The Rugby World Cup is Pro Wrestling

If Pro Wrestling ever makes a vignette for a gay wrestler if it's half as good as this it'll be awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUoHcwR6FwU -

The REAL World Cup Final is played tonight in that 4th rate stadium Twickenham in the 9th rate city of London rather than the 10/10 Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. Finest stadium in the world that. Especially when we sing with the roof on. It's like Danielson's The Final Countdown as 70000 people follow my signatures lead, Alun-Wyn Jones, in blasting out Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau with wonderful tone and ptich. So yeah. Excuse my anglophobic xenophobia after, and certainly during, the game. -

Head injuries and concussions are in the Welsh media recently due to the many major concussions suffered by George North who's not even 25, and Jonathan Thomas has retired today due to epilepsy he blames on head injuries suffered playing the game. Personally, as much as I would let him fuck my arse raw, I can't see George North playing for too many years and living past 40. His last concussion put him out for 6 months. If he picks up another big one I hope he calls it a day for his own safety. I actually often wonder why head injuries in Rugby aren't under the microscope they have been in Wrestling, the NFL and NHL. -
What about Hardcore dance? I'd met many a scouser pilling their tits off and ready for war when I'd be on the door in Mersey View and the time I worked in Wigan Pier.
-
Add another one for dance msuic not being emmfeminate right here. You come to the UK, and all the bald, Mcat sniffing, sted heads are gurning to hard house rather than slayer.

Wrestler awareness of things not in their bubble
ButchReedMark replied to Loss's topic in Pro Wrestling
Could time be a factor here? What with the travel, hotels, working out, cocaine and hookers, and spending countless hours at the arena, maybe wrestlers just didn't really have the time to find out about what was going on elsewhere? -
Without exaqggeration Graves and the Kids are the best announcing team in the WWE. What a really fun little show this is.

Yeah I did. I actually provided William Regal with a copy of it straight from the production company, Antena. I was in shock that Dave Finlay had Chihuahuas. His daughter Tara Bethan and I have mutual friends, I fancy her. She acts in Pobol y Cwm now. I'd be very interested to see Orig's matches from India and Pakistan which they talked about in the doc. the doc was also handy for introducing the world to Mason Ryan's nickname which everyone calls him of Barri Ten Foot, a good Welsh nickname that. I like to think CM Punk called him that too. They're all brilliant in the eyes of a Welsh child. In the eyes of a discerning viewer from New Zealand however, there's probably none. I, and everyone else here, loved watching Orig more because of who he was in Welsh culture more than any real ability. Honesty? There probably won't be any matches of his that tape exists of that you'd find decent. I liked his tag team with Steve Jones yr Caerdydd, or William Regal of Blackpool if you'd rather, though. At least I did as a youth anyway. I've requested some uploads from Psycho. Unfortunately he didn't have Otto Wanz jobbing to a phone book in Denbigh in a misguided attempt to break the world record for ripping them up, but hopefully he's got the Mic McMichael vs Kung Fu match I've asked for. It's dreadful. I love it. -

Lee Bamber who commentated is possibly the UK's most respected MC, and is also the Play by Play man on LDN's Ill-Fated Reboot Of World Of Sport. Watch it here, Karl Kramer is in the opener - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLZC2_02gug Also, how can you give up on Our Orig? He's our Martin Karadagian! A Welsh speaking, head of the druids, champion of Welsh language youth movements who half inched a WCW ring and is the folk hero of folk heroes! -
I don't drive, so I'm possibly one of the only people in wrestling fucking stupid enough to rely on public transport to get from show to show. And this is in rural Wales which has terrible travel links (4 and a half hours to go 50 miles on a train in one case) so I occasionally dream I've missed my bus/train, or the train pulls into the station but the doors don't open so I can't get off and it pulls away with me on it and I miss the show.

Karl Kramer's still going. Very good big man worker, wrestled on LDN's ill-fated attempt at a World of Sport reboot a year or two back which I *think* is on Youtube. I worked on a couple of shows with him and he had a cracker against Big Dog who goes about 30st in a bodyslam match in Llanrwst. There was only about 4 bumps in the whole match but I loved it. Although Krammer cut possibly the worst promo of all time before the match in the ring. -
When I was 14 or so I had a dream about Curt Hennig grabbing a mic on Nitro and announcing his retirement by singing the words "Where is Barry (Windham)?" to the tune of the fucking awful "No Matter What" by Boyzone and also off some shit musical.

Has he ever done the convention circuit in earnest? Even after this he could make a shitload out of that, wrestling fans forgive anything for people they like (Benoit for the HOF for example), Q&A sessions like Regal and Foley and the like do, combine that with what'll surely be a massive amount for a shoot interview, and that'll keep him going before this is forgiven/forgotten/he shows contrition on Oprah and is back on WWE TV in a couple of years.

Often forgotten periods of a wrestlers career...

Raven wrestles in generic trunks and boots on WWE Heat in 2003. -
Funnily enough a lapsed fan was just asking me about it all on facebook and said "How can they Benoit Hogan? Hogan is wrestling? He's everywhere"
-
Every single mention of him on the WWE website, including as a hall of famer has been taken off WWE.com, taken off Tough Enough, taken off everything completely. Apparently the National Enquirer has footage of him going on a massive racist rant which "He can't come back from" So yeah, he's done. And even more annoyingly I can't wear any of my several Hogan shirts again.
-
I've got a really bad habit of fast forwarding to finishes sometimes when I watch wrestling I've recorded.
-
But can Shawn still go? We don't know as he's not wrestled in 4 years.
