I'm surprised El-P doesn't know about Three Men and a Baby given that it was a remake of Trois hommes et un couffin.

At the very least, he should have come to the ring in a Hawaiian shirt and Detroit Tigers cap. Then again, that may have been a bit too on the nose even by pro wrestling standards.

Baszler/Yim is worth going out of your way to see.

Ospreay's match with Fale should let us know how serious they are about pushing him as a heavyweight. To be honest, though, I'm increasingly convinced that the junior division is an anachronism. It really struck me when I watched KUSHIDA's match with Tanahashi. The IWGP heavyweight champion was barely larger than the former junior ace. And most of the company's top heavyweights are his size or smaller. Plus, current New Japan is more of an entertainment-based product, so there's no real need to try to maintain sports legitimacy. They should do away with the division or at least significantly lower the weight limit.

The problem is that Austin is such an iconic figure and the stunner is so closely identified with him that anyone else who uses it is going to come across as lesser in comparison.

I'd be shocked if Batista did one of the Saudi shows. He's enough of a star that he doesn't need WWE, and he's perfectly willing to tell them to stick it when what they're doing doesn't work for him. Plus, he seems like the kind of guy who would turn down Saudi blood money on principle. And even if he wouldn't, it would go over terribly in Hollywood.

This is going to pale in comparison to Ric's actual birthday party last Friday, which seemingly every celebrity you imagine would celebrate a wrestler's birthday attended. Also, there was this:

Who is more important for pro wrestling history?
NintendoLogic replied to yesdanielbryan's topic in Pro Wrestling
Think of it this way: how different would wrestling be today if they had never existed? With that in mind, the correct answers are Misawa, Jericho, Angle, Hardy, and Edge. -
Mance Warner is wrestling LA Park on Saturday, so I decided to check out his match on the latest episode of Fusion. He could stand to be a bit less overt in wearing his influences on his sleeve, but it's pretty cool seeing a guy working a Bunkhouse Buck tribute gimmick in 2019.

The mistake is thinking that these trolls are expressing genuine opinions rather than simply getting their jollies from hurling anonymous abuse at celebrities, particularly female ones. The lesson as always: social media was a mistake.

The Mayweather match is the Misawa/Kawada of celebrity matches, but I have no real use for Show otherwise. The main issue is that the dominant but vulnerable monster doesn't really work as a weekly TV character. Either he's too dominant and kills off his opponents or he's too vulnerable and loses his aura. The ones who made it work, like Andre and current Brock Lesnar, were special attractions.

For what it's worth, his MLW bio says that he refers "to himself as the 'base god' because of his ability to use his body as a gravitational base to counter his high flying opponents to his advantage." So they are making an effort to maintain kayfabe.

Hey, don't sleep on Bray. After all, he ended up with Jojo. I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. Anyway, I'd say Seth Rollins is the hottest guy in the company. Nobody else can match his combination of tall, dark, and handsome.

"WWE MAKES HUGE CREATIVE HIRE, BIG NAME FROM THE PAST RETURNING" as the clickbait headline is the Internet equivalent of Gene Okerlund hyping the death of a 45-year-old former world champion on the WCW Hotline. -

Per Dave on the F4W board, he and Vince got into a shouting match over something (Dave said he heard two different versions of what the issue was and that he'd probably know for sure a little later). Vince sent him home and decided not to bring him back. Arn has apparently been Cena's personal agent for a while, so it'll be interesting to see how Cena looks when he comes back. -
Hulk Hogan Biopic in the works; Chris Hemsworth is playing him

I don't want it to be comedic, though. I want it played completely straight without even a hint that Hogan's accounts of his past don't quite add up. The only comedy should be unintentional. -
Bianca Belair's "undefeated is a mindset" gimmick is zero buys. Minimizing and making excuses for losses is a quintessential loser heel trait. That might work for Miz or Curt Hawkins, but not for someone you want the audience to get behind and see as a star.

I'm sure he's not coming back to let everyone know that the treatment didn't work and he'll be dead soon. But if it's good news, why not just say so? -

Here's a crazy idea: maybe the dropoff in ratings is because the show is bad. As for Roman, if they just wanted to give good news on his progress, a normal company in a normal industry would do it in a press release. Doing it in a way that creates the impression of ambiguity makes it come across as a ratings ploy. -

I want the exact opposite. I Hogan works the producers into believing his tall tales and depicting them in the movie as the unvarnished truth. I want to see Hogan wrestling in front of Elvis in Memphis, beating Antonio Inoki to death in the ring and then reviving him with CPR, partying with John Belushi after Wrestlemania 2, slamming Andre and then visiting him on his deathbed the next day, the whole nine yards. -
To be honest, I think they should just call both of them up without resolving the whole DIY saga. They keep adding layers upon layers, and there's no way they'll be able to pay it all off satisfactorily. Better to let people fantasy book their own conclusions than deliver something that will invariably disappoint.

Didn't Sting say he suspected Flair didn't want him to develop beyond a certain level because they had the same match every time they worked together?

The main thing that worries me with Dream is the prospect of him breaking down physically before he hits the big time. He really needs to tone down the bumping.
