  1. Beefcake had a pretty solid run as an over star from 85-90, especially of course the Barber years. Definitely a HoF guy by WWE standards
  2. Worked shoot stuff like the Twitter war can work because when done sparingly it feels real. WCW did so much of it in a short period of time that nothing stood out and all it did was confuse viewers and turn them off

So is Lee vs Dijakovic. It was a top to bottom great show, like most weeks lately

Holy fuck the pop for Sasha and Bailey returning to Full Sail sounded like the Sportatorium at the peak of the Von Erich's Beautiful moment
  5. Episode 60 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-61 June 4, 1983 (WCCW 75) This territory is so friggin' hot right now. Hot feuds, hot talent, and hot crowds mixed with top-notch TV production equals a great product. The only glaring weakness is the commentary. Always the God damn commentary... Oh well, this week the boys look at: -Chris Adams kickin' some ass, but still stuck in the curtain jerker -Kamala vs Johnny Rich: Replace J-O-H-N-N with T-O-M-M and this would be a killer match -David Von Erich and Bill Mercer ride horses together...um...yeah -Kerry Von Erich vs Michael Hayes, and it's not even the main event! Because... -David vs Garvin for the held up Texas heavyweight title IS the main event!
  6. Please let that exist
  7. That's who I'm interested in seeing. Is the Comiskey Park footage with Heenan and the Sheik new? Edit: Never mind, it's on YouTube. Surprised I haven't watched it before. Or maybe I have lol
  8. Episode 59 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-60 May 28, 1983 (WCCW 74) The boys are back in Big-D, and they welcome Bill Mercer's shiny new mustache to the show! Will this finally be the right look for Bill? Could be. In addition, the boys want to talk a little wrestling, including... -Chris Adams' struggle to find relevance in the territory -The "Captain's Match". Um, Okay -And one hell of a main event, with the Freebirds taking on Kevin, David and the Iceman!
  9. What did Paige say exactly?
  10. Really good show other than Corbin/Strowman. Main was great
  11. Actually four separate runs. He left in early 83 and returned in 85 Early 60s Early-mid 70s Early 80s Mid 80s
  12. Cool. Thanks for finally solving that mystery
  13. And yes, based on what I've seen of him around that time he was still pretty good
  14. Yeah, but he was fucking Lou Thesz
  15. I dunno, I found the 9/1/73 card on Wrestlingdata and it lists Thesz vs Valentine https://www.wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=shows&show=158040
  16. WWE dating something wrong is as much a certainty as death and taxes
  17. Oh man, that Valentine vs Thesz match could be awesome
  18. One of the most underrated top stars in wrestling history IMO. He was also huge in California in the 60s. Definitely one of the greatest draws in the history of NYC wrestling. As for matches, the one that dropped on the Network vs Blackjack Mulligan, his first title defense at MSG, is a great representation of how over Pedro was in that city. Just crazy nuclear heat. In the early 80s he had great matches at MSG with Patera, Slaughter and the Texas Death with Muraco, but he also had plenty of stinkers during that time. He also rocked the iconic, one of a kind, two-toned orange trunks night in night out. He must've had dozens of pairs lol. RIP
  19. Oh yeah, anyone like yourself who has been following us since the Titans days should love this one
  20. Here are the two shows. The first one is mis-dated, it's actually from May 6, 1965
  21. World Cast What If...?: WWWF 1965-1966 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-what-if-wwwf-1965-1966 This episode is dedicated to former WWWF Champion, Pedro Morales. RIP Pete is at the SCI Rumble, so Kelly and Johnny decide to watch something about as far removed from that as you can get, WWWF TV from 1965 and 1966! On the docket tonight: May 6, 1965 Washington, DC Cowboy Bill Watts vs Thomas Marin Chief Big Heart vs Tony Newberry Argentina Apollo vs Bob Boyer Steve "Mr. America" Stanlee vs Chief White Owl January 27, 1966 Washington, DC Arnold Skaaland & Antonio Pugliese vs Angelo Savoldi & Tony Altimore The Beast (w. Bobby Davis) vs Pete Sanchez Ron Etchison vs Smasher Sloan Some highlights include: -Wrestler Bio-A-Go-Go (Eleven in total!) -How many Native American gimmicks in one territory is too many? -The state of the WWWF in the mid 60s -Johnny Sorrow's American Facts, 1965-1966 edition -And much, much more!
  22. I would also like to know this. The worst thing about watching WCCW chronologically and being in early 1983 is knowing Mercer and occasionally Lowrance are basically as good as it is ever going to get in the booth
  23. Just heard this. I'm at work, so I'll comment more later. Huge star during his peak years in the 60s and early 70s

  25. These two matches back to back were the most fun I've had watching wrestling so far this year
