  1. A bit more talking from Elizabeth than the usual. She sure does look good looking though. Savage is in the Rumble and doesn't matter to him if he is going up against enemies like Jake or friends like Hogan.
  2. Was alright but didn't feel like the quality match to end a big dome show. Action was good but in the end felt a bit too short as far as a match. Wasn't bad but needed a couple more minutes to lead into the finish.
  3. I liked it. It is annoying to watch Scott Steiner hit big moves and not go for the pinfall though. I did enjoy the Rick blocking Muta's Hand Spring Elbow move and hitting the German Suplex. I always like seeing those ridiculous type moves being countered. I agree the ending didn't seem right as the pinfall happened in the background. Didn't seem like the crowd liked that finish.
  4. I was not expecting the Boss Man match to be as good as it was. I'm not down on Boss Man but I was not expecting him and Vader to be throwing bombs and tossing each other around like that in the Stampede match. One of the things I love about the Yearbooks is coming across a match I haven't seen and really enjoying it.
  5. I have seen very little of Duggan outside of WWF/WCW so am not very familiar with his Mid South stuff. So this is pretty much the best Duggan match I've seen. I was surprised to see Duggan could bring it to this level at this point of his career. After Duggan beat Austin earlier in the year it was enjoyable to see Vader beat him good at the end. Vader versus both Duggan and Bossman were two very nice surprises for 1994.
  6. Picked up the Blu Ray myself and really enjoyed as I had not seen a bunch of the matches included. One thing that stood out to me though was Midnight Express vs. Rock n' Roll Express match from 6/13/90. Before the match starts, Bob Caudle mentions a conversation he had with Robert Gibson regarding the sign language. "He told me one time that his parents were deaf and dumb and he uses that sign language to relay his feelings to the fans." I had to replay it about five times to make sure what I heard.
  7. Loss, I want to give you ***3/4 for your imagination. Mine was lacking as I was just seeing the back of people's heads standing in front of the camera.
  8. Good match. I figured it was for the title. I liked Buddy doing all those spots trying to convince the referee that Dirty White Boy was hitting him with cheap shots. Looked at it more that since Mark Curtis didn't witness these supposed cheap shots he couldn't disqualify DWB. But they helped Buddy as they were getting to DWB as cause him to be off his game early in the match. Agreed that they could have done more with the match though.
  9. It started promising and I liked the match up but wasn't as good as I was expecting. I just haven't got use to rounds system as to me it seems to slow down to momentum of the match.
  10. The Dome match from January just seemed bigger and more exciting to watch. I had a very favorable view of that one. This is still a good match but didn't feel special as was just another tag match.
  11. This felt like two different matches to me. I could barely pay attention to the long mat work at the beginning of the match and was ready to fast forward. Then second half is pretty incredible to watch. I really can't remember going from one extreme to the other on my viewing experience of a single match while watching it. Wished they just trimmed some of the earlier mat work down in time.
  12. I have to agree with Loss on the latter half of the year dropping off a bit. There was still plenty of good stuff to watch but the year peaked around July. I had high praise for WCW in the first half of the year and it may have been my promotion of the year with AJPW. But once the Hogan show got in full force it became really frustrating to watch it. Outside of the Rhodes vs Stud Stable stuff there wasn't much going on in WCW. If WCW had remained consistent it would have helped boost the rest of the year. Overall there was still plenty of variety for the full year and found the yearbook to be very enjoyable to watch.
  13. An agent from Los Angeles is insisting on his man getting a shot at the SMW Champion Dirty White Boy. They are not revealing who it is. Dirty White Boy will sign an open contract and give a shot to whoever it is. We see a strategy session between Jim Cornette and Rock & Roll Express. It’s not very civil as Cornette wants Gibson/Morton to listen to him and how the way he wants them to wrestle. Gibson says something that I couldn’t understand. Cornette reminds us he wants the Rock & Roll Express to win and he gives his word of honor about no double cross. Boo got upgraded from living in a dog house to the boiler room in the Candido’s apartment. Tammy is very evil here threatening to toss Boots in a sack and throw it a river. To save his cat, he must get rid of Cactus Jack. Tammy takes Boots away from Boo. No more poems for a visibly upset Cactus. Feels he underestimated Candido at first. Puts over the upcoming falls count anywhere match. More intensity from Cactus and best promo so far in SMW for him. New Jack advises the Rock & Roll Express to not trust Cornette. New Jack has really toned down his promos towards the end of the year. They don’t even do the disclaimer anymore.
  14. I loved this game. Two button mash up. Had some intense fourplayer games with friends. I remember they had these super finisher type moves that were hard to pull off. Like Doink would do a field goal kick. Graphics sure have come along with in video games. They look pretty awful in the actual game footage.
  15. Dundee admits to being a bad guy at one point but has changed over the years. Dundee can’t remember Bowden’s name. Seemed legit that he couldn’t. He thinks Gilbert is a walk follower. Gilbert and Bowden come out to interrupt. Scuffle starts as Dundee has enough of Gilbert talking trash and slaps him. Gilbert pushed Randy Hales at one point who slid across the floor.
  16. Godwinn showing off his slop. We eat slop all day long and are no different than his hogs. Silly but funny. Godwinn plays his role as good one can. Lord Alfred doing the voice over for Left Guard deodorant. Fatu and Sionne dressed up in tuxedos. They are impressed with the smell and then starting randomly eating a deodorant stick. Another silly segment but aided with Alfred’s narration.
  17. This is some triangle round robin match up between the three teams. First match is just the ending with Kong’s team winning. I’ve only ever seen Reggie Bennett at Barely Legal PPV where she did a run in. Toyota and Inoue charge in for the next match. Kong whips Toyota pretty hard with a chair. Toyota spends close to ten minutes at the start getting twisted in submissions. They don’t hit the finish clean but it wasn’t the easier type of roll up to hit off the top rope. Third match seems the best of the bunch as more action. I thought we would get the three way tie but Toyota and Inoue end up winning two matches in a row.
  18. Tough act to follow the last match. Love Hansen’s no sell of the Kawada kicks. Great body language when he just keeps walking at Kawada. There was a camera angle when Kawada is hitting Baba in corner with kicks and barely looks like he is touching him. I know you take it easy on the boss but it really can stand out in a match where Hansen and Kawada are so much more physically believable. Match was okay but wasn’t feeling Kawada getting taking the pin. I guess they are building to future happenings in 1995.
  19. Check out Johnny Ace in this match. Williams and Ace keep Misawa in their corner of the match putting him in various submissions. Kobashi will come in and try to break it up but this justs irks Ace and Williams to punish Misawa more. Misawa is in the ring for the longest time as Kobashi just remains on the apron. Kobashi tries to interfere more but gets a german suplex. Misawa takes on both Williams and Ace before Kobashi gets back in the ring. It is around 15 minutes of match show time before Kobashi makes an official tag in. Ace kicks out of the moonsault which surprised me. But then Ace gets the upper hand and has two very believable close two counts only on Kobashi. Had me there. Misawa tags back in and Ace kicks out of a couple moves but losing to tiger driver. Excellent match where Ace looked very impressive overall. Quite the improvement since his Carnival match earlier on set.
  20. As predicited Kevin Sullivan turned on Cactus in their tag match. Not sure why Cactus would even bother tagging with him. Cactus is very proud that Mikey did what he said he would and kick Sullivan’s ass if it happened. Mikey of course took a couple chair shots to the head from Sullivan for this.
  21. Michaels and McMahon on commentary talking up a big surprise guest on the Kings’ Court. Lawler rips on some ringside fan. Lawler’s guest is Shawn Michaels who goes on about him responsible for Diesel becoming multitime champion the past year. So Diesel is feuding with both Backlund and Michaels at this point but he would end up facing Hart instead at Rumble. Hakushi’s name is up in the clouds which get darker and darker. He’s on his way to the WWF. Very basic vignette which Vince just mentions he is from Japan.
  22. I think this is actually an eight man tag. I’m not clear who got pinned in the first fall but Aguayo’s team celebrates. Second fall has some funny comedy from La Parka including a nice little dance in the middle of three opponents. Rudos get the victory in the second fall. The third fall is pretty crazy as the referees have lost complete control of everyone. This just becomes an extended brawl and some of the guys go into the crowd. La Parka gets his masked all ripped up and he gets bloodied. No big comeback in for him though as he taps out in the end. Third fall was pretty good though stuff was confusing for me at times on who was eliminated.
  23. Not saying they were dogging it or anything but it seemed a step below for me. I just think it is unrealistic to go all out in multiple matches one night with dealing with fatigue and avoiding repetition. Maybe in a 10 hour show these matches really stand out compared to the rest but in the yearbook setting I didn't find them to be too special. But again, I'm slow to pick up this Joshi stuff.
  24. Announcement that Randy Savage will be joining us live on the show. Was Saturday Night actually live on a occasion? They have a weird Savage message over Bischoff and Heenan talking. Hogan versus Butcher will be the most important night in wrestling. When Hogan is chilling at home looking at his and Butcher’s bikes he noticed something. There wa a little butcher with an ax trying to chop off Hogan’s head. This was premeditated! Savage in WCW doesn’t feel right. He’s here to take it to the limit. Savage is here for one reason and one reason only to confront Hulk Hogan. Hogan is not here now though. He will be at Starrcade to see Hogan.
  25. Cactus doing some wrestling. Headlock takedown. ECW fans would be booing this. We do get the Cactus clothesline. Candido grabs a crutch from ringside fan and uses it as a weapon. Tammy leaves ringside and returns back with Boo. Accident collision with Candido and Bradley leads to Cactus victory. Pretty good match between the two. It was nice to see a wrestling match from Cactus compared to the rest of the brawls he’s been in on the set.
