  1. Now that's a well dressed referee! Really enjoyed this one as I loved both guys fighting off being put into the barbed wire. The count down really added to things. But what put it over the most was the past match conference with both Funk and Onita. I was amazed with Onita when the camera got right in his face. Him just holding back the tears as Funk praising him heavily.
  2. The horse was very cooperative during this. Funk's facials at the ends were really funny.
  3. Totally felt like Muta was dogging it here until he got to do his stupid running the whole way down the ramp move. Hogan was trying to get something out of this match but Muta just didn't seem to care. Probably the worst Hogan match in Japan on yearbook and not really his fault.
  4. When it to the point where Hase was throwing those suplexes and then smiling about it, I was begging for Fujiwara to submit. So when that actually ended up being the finish I was cheering for it. It did seem like Hase submitted early because the referee's position blocked his path to the ropes.
  5. I find Hogan in Japan to be so much better than Sting in Japan. It really isn't close. Sting seems to be almost the heel in this one with the sympathy on Norton. They get good blood but still felt like a bit of a cheap finish with the doctor stoppage.
  6. I really liked seeing Hokuto still having issues with her arm and selling it during match. Made the match for me that she continued doing that based off previous match.
  7. I liked this more than you guys though I'd view it as passable instead of downright hating it. I think it was better than their Summerslam match. For whatever reason they just make bad opponents for each other. Michaels is trying to out do Perfect on the overselling. This series is good evidence of Hennig being much better in AWA than WWF. Agreed that it was totally overbooked with the random stuff going on in the end. Twenty minute time limit is pretty dumb too for a IC title match. I must have really disliked the Summerslam match to get through this.
  8. I did like Rude taking shots at Dusty who was holding back Dustin during this. The more I watch Rude he just comes off as some guy who can really handle himself in a fight. Thought he was going to kick Dustin's ass here even with Rhodes being fired up as he is.
  9. Obviously Flair is great on the mic but his own talk show doesn't feel right. I think everyone is out of their comfort zone during this. Vader in his wrestling gear sitting down on a couch didn't feel right. Very cheesy all around.
  10. Ken Patera, Jesse Ventura & Bobby Heenan vs. Hulk Hogan & High Flyers (3/13/83) Loved it. The crowd heat. Heenan being such an asshole. Just thought everyone played their part in the match great. I had this as my immediate number one the first time I watched since it was on earlier discs as was just blown away by it. After multiple viewings it just solidified it's position and ended up being an easy decision for me at the top.
  11. Harley Lannister: "Drinking and lust, no man can match me in these things. I am the god of tits and wine."
  12. Thanks! My number one finished in top 25 even though I was only person who voted it that high. I nailed the number two spot! Some of my other picks look way off from the average.
  13. It might not be people's best Havoc match but I'd throw out Hogan versus Flair from 1994 in cage match. Flair's career on the line, Sherri flying off the cage, the post match stuff. Plenty of discussion points.
  14. What a tease for no list with the results yet! This was my first set since WWF to submit a ballot so looking forward to listening to this and see how my picks matched up.
  15. This is pretty much exactly how I feel about modern day wrestling. I've struggled to put it into words and I think you have done a great job saying it. I feel like I see this all the time in WWE matches. And this isn't me bashing them but it's the only product I've really seen for last few years. It's not to say I don't enjoy a good match but "rehearsed" part of stuff can be quite distracting for me. There is lots of stuff like Orton hitting multiple clotheslines, ducking a guys clothesline and powerslaming him as the guys bounces back off the ropes. This isn't just Orton. Only giving an example. Feels like a good portion of roster is doing this type of stuff.
  16. I feel like I've given Joshi a solid chance and I do come away from matches thinking the are excellent. I don't hate Joshi but most of the time I feel indifferent to what is going in the ring. There is just a disconnect for me where I find myself not being able to be emotionally behind most of the performers. The blood doesn't bother me and I completely recognize the wrestlers as great athletes. This quote from NintendoLogic is pretty accurate about how I feel. No heavy time put into GWF? What about IRS tax tips? We didn't get to see the Dragon Master in Memphis so I was hoping one of you could give me a detailed background on this guy! I'm shocked that Loss did not give us his thoughts on Jason Hervey. Only so much time to talk about a full year. Really enjoyed the conversations about WWF the most including Childs ready to join up with Slaughter in the war against Hulkamania. The Roberts stuff was great discussing his year as both face and heel. Loved the audio being included of Earthquake squashing Damien. I felt like Flair leaving for WWF probably could have been a whole show in itself. Another fun show and I like the ideas for future shows based on wrestling in specific cities.
  17. Just a great pair with Dutch interviewing Sullivan. Mantell feeds Kevin questions and Sullivan gives those crazy responses. Them sitting down in the ring is such a nice touch to Sullivan's bizarre behavior.
  18. Brian Lee isn't helping SMW defending themselves against Tammy's lawsuit.
  19. Before all the NWO spray painting! Oh, Smothers calls Dirty White Boy a Yankee.
  20. Totally noticed that too. The studio crowd was really into this. Really good match and loved all the wrestlers coming out to ringside and getting into the action too. I didn't mind the interference but more that it looked weak with Jarrett getting tripped up and then pinned. Though a match as good as this did deserve better.
  21. Sherri is pushing it trying to wear that outfit in the ring. Good promo though even with neckbrace on.
  22. Felino trying to climb the turnbuckle and just randomly doing a header on to the floor was funny. These dives looked dangerous. Liked the Casas/Jericho interaction.
  23. I love me some photoshop! That first picture of Kennedy assassination with Super 8 cameo is epic!
  24. Please continue Yo-Yo. Great stuff. As far as wrestlers played by actors. Ving Rhames could totally play Ahmed Johnson. You're going down! With a pair of pliers and a blow torch.
  25. It's a garbage finish to get counted out in a "retirement match". Jake beating up Sagrada was fun though. So long Konnan. That had to be an actor they hired to put in the crowd who was crying at the end.
