  1. Flair seems like a safe pick, but you never know who's having a bad day. I'd say the same for the All Japan greats, but have seen enough people who aren't familiar with them that may pass for that reason.
  2. Somehow I remember FoF being a nice time to check on food during PPVs of that era but there's been enough positive feedback here I actually want to see what I think now. Never really loved Barbie but Meng was always fun.
  3. Agreed. It probably needs to be a new face, or something closely approximating one like a freshly turned heel. Though I don't know what babyface on the roster even has that potential right now unless you build up Cesaro as his good buddy and set things up that way. Unlikely, but probably the only way to do it if you're trying to max out the potential of someone on the roster.
  4. Speaking of Cena rehabbing the US Title. What makes sense for him dropping it at this point? Hold it through Mania? As much as the world title is still the big belt and more important, winning this will do more to make someone outside of the usual crew.
  5. Bachelor and Bachelorette? Waitress / waiter? Why can't we just stick to the rasslin?
  6. I sure as hell hate it. There seems no rhyme or reason when he goes to it other than that he has to go to it every time out, and it never means anything. Plus he exaggerates the rebound in a fashion that leaps past comical into parody.
  7. I enjoyed the main event quite a bit and thought they built the near falls very well. I even popped for Rollins's superplex into a falcon arrow. Not at the level of either Cesaro match but another solid outing from the Summer of Cena. That nose was gruesome.
  8. Pretty fair. He'll sell, but usually with a wink & a nod or so over the top like he was shot. Compounding it is that his offense, which has become almost more five moves of doom-ish than anything else going on these days, ramps up to full speed at comeback time without anything he did underneath mattering at all. This guy has nosedived since the Rollins feud around Summerslam.
  9. Yeah leaving aside the Mania match what they put together wasn't bad. I just don't think it rates at all compared to what was going on in Japan or the NWA. Can't speak to other US offices though. Just doesn't feel like that era of WWF produced a ton of high end work.
  10. Its a pretty terrible year for WWF. Worker of the year there is like winning NBADL mvp.
  11. I watched a bunch of random Bryan this weekend. A few new matches as well as a couple I hadn't seen in a while and came away thinking he has to place top 5, at worst, on my ballot.
  12. Where is this available? Been hoping to check it out but haven't come across it. The absence of Suzuki has definitely been a loss in njpw this year.
  13. Part of that is being wrestling.
  14. Can anyone familiar with it skim this playlist and let me know if its missing anything important RE Final Conflict? https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL595E9941A3B9850C
  15. That's pretty funny. Last night I went out of my way to check out Dragon Gate's recent big show specifically because I did not want to hear anyone speaking English at me via any medium. Had enough of that nonsense at work. Almost halfway through the show and its been a breeze.

  17. Yes. It would get some backlash at first, but if used right attention to the time limit and time limit draw could do wonders to mix things up. Yes, and without hammering it home beforehand by hyping a time limit. You could even introduce it by bell ringing at the 10 or 20 minute mark of a match to introduce the concept. The key is mixing things up and not relying on the same tropes hour in and hour out.
  18. Yeah, apparently a slight change in the impact or had it happened to someone with weaker neck muscles and we'd very possibly be discussing a real tragedy.
  19. Amazing. TNA is like a any law firm / bank / fill in the blank company that has people jazzed for their upcoming career only to want out. Except it doesn't make money or compensate anyone.
  20. I'd add the Akiyama matches from 2/27/00, 4/11/01 and 7/27/01, vs. Takayama from 4/15/01 (legit MOTYC in my eyes and even better than the Kobashi match the previous year) and 9/23/02 for early decade work.

  22. Thanks. Plugging some highlight matches into a youtube playlist I can run through soon enough. Zero patience to put myself through the whole thing but I'm game for the greatest hits.
  23. Entirely possible. Its not just how many up and down the card, but where they're mixed in.
  24. Can't imagine anything other than a babyface Rusev with the booking last night. Intriguing.
  25. That Brock/Taker brawl was spectacular. Made the most out of a common angle and the match feels like a huge deal now . Throwing a little shade at it, its very clear from looking at who was involved in keeping them apart that the only people on the roster that matter are Reigns, Orton, Cena, Wyatt (and Harper), maybe Rusev for some reason. Anyone else I'm missing? Everyone else was out there as part of the job squad keeping the main eventers from getting their hands on each other -- Cesaro, Ambrose, Owens, etc.
