  1. Its honestly pretty scary to think that they're driving business to the point that TV execs may be having ultimately existential conversations about the company.
  2. Raw's biggest disadvantage is that its 3 hours so it takes longer to fast forward through it. Given Bryan's absence, for my money the better show these days is usually the one that dedicates more time to Bayley & Sasha. They're the one consistently entertaining act in the company this summer.
  3. It'd really be a shame if a few, or even all, of them got sick.
  4. I still don't get how a 5 man unit of relative midgets chucking up 60 3's is supposed to fare well in a 7 game series against a team with size that can also shoot. Its maddening. Bring me Lakers/Clips and winners vs. Bucks. LET'S DO THIS.
  5. Not quite the topic but for me the biggest problem is that with two hours of weekly television its almost impossible for NXT to serve as kind of developmental brand. By the time someone's called up they'll arguably be overexposed and certainly slotted. Its almost as though a wrestler needs to be kept off TV entirely to have a clean slate on Raw or Smackdown.
  6. Oh I got the gimmick and that reference. Just didn't pick up on his name used in that context.
  7. Unless I read it in the WON at some point and forgot about it, I didn't find out about this one until just now.
  8. Anyone ever bought wrestling tshirts off redbubble? They've got some fun looking ones for Kawada and wrestlers you can't find elsewhere, though obviously far from official. Curious as to the quality and sizing. Are these going to ruin the rest of my laundry or is it a decent shirt? Never bought off here or PWTees for that matter so don't know what to expect from such outlets.
  9. If only we could direct COVID to those most in need.
  10. I'm not as high on Cesaro in general as many seem to be, but while I think of him as a good worker I find it hard to distinguish his work in tags from what he does in singles. For purposes of this discussion I'm drawn to names that distinguish themselves in that format whether it be the Bucks or even a Roderick Strong this century or a Morton, Eaton or Kobashi from decades past. Those are names where they not only excel in a tag setting but their performance varies to fit such a match.
  11. Apparently Oliver Copp is releasing a new version of TNM. That might be worth a look.
  12. Why do many talents seem to have blinders on as to just who they're dealing with? This isn't a company that has a history of doing the right thing by talent or employees and yet they seem surprised or disappointed to find themselves in such a situation.
  13. That's my initial read as well, as if you think KENTA, White & Ospreay are making it back within a couple months there's no reason to hot shot this. After nearly a decade of delivering both booking and in-ring I'm more than willing to see how this plays out, but despite his KOPW match with Okada a couple years back and a few other moments generally built around the G1, Evil's felt like someone with a firm ceiling below the top level. I certainly prefer him to Sanada who always comes off to me as the most blase, by the numbers name in NJPW except when he's in with Okada. Consider me curious.
  14. Thanks, didn't realize he still resided here. Hopefully they're able to bring in the big names for October.
  15. Is KENTA ill or hurt? Sidelined out of COVID-concerns on his part? I don't recall if his absence has been addressed.
  16. This week's show was an absolute home run. From top to bottom basically every segment was really strong with the 8 man tag and Taz's promo the clear standouts in my book. Hell, I normally can't stand Joey Janela and though this match was really good. Just a terrific 2 hour television program. Oddly enough I've watched NXT first the past couple weeks because I was more interested in Sasha/Io and Cole/Lee than anything in AEW. Next week is a bit of a toss-up between Io/Nox and Mox/Cage so we'll see who comes out ahead in my house.
  17. Times like these I wish we still had a like function.
  18. This eye business really feels like peak Death of WCW. I can't argue with those pointing to all the movie matches as more of the same, but at least there's an argument that they're trying (and already overdoing) new ideas given the empty arena situation. But this? I've got no idea how to defend or spin it.
  19. I'd imagine it depends on the expense involved with editing them to meet any Network/legal standards, but that's just a wild guess.
