Saw the CMLL vs AEW tag match from tonight. It was a fun match, specially because the crowd was incredibly hot. We need more Mistico vs Claudio. Mox looked like shit, lol. And they booked Danielson vs Blue Panther in a singles match FOR NEXT FRIDAY
-
That shouldn't have made me laugh as hard as it did, lmao.

You trying to use Coli emojis here never stops being funny And I have no clue why Rock didn't go with "High Chief" like his grandpa. It would add much more to the coming friction and feud with Reigns.

Cody being as over and the best babyface WWE could possibly imagine in this day and age Is what has allowed Rock to cook with his character. There's no Vince micro managing nor an overall fear of their main babyface (Cena) not looking strong against him. Fans rejecting Rock vs Roman for this year's Mania was the best thing that could've happened to them. It forced Rock to drop the lazy "Dwayne Johnson, social media jaggernaut" act and at the same time it let him know he could have fun being a heel doing whatever the fuck he wanted because Cody could take it and come out looking stronger. And the Roman side of the ecuation Is still untapped. That part of the angle r starts once WM finishes. I just hope we don't lose this version of Rock soon. Even if he just shows up 2-4 times the rest of the year, I don't want him going back to Dwayne for the Reigns feud.

Replacing the Hardy's with MCMG soundd like right move.

AEW TV - 3/13 - 3/16 - Big Bu Dollar Signs Ine Dollar Signs

Oh for sure, but my point is that Dragon probably wants to have that test first instead of waiting till after him and Ospreay do dumb shit (to our delight) for 30 minutes in April, lol. -

Considering Ospreay is probably gonna be the most dangerous one Dragon is gonna have this year, make sense he wants to have the Shibata one out the way ASAP just in case. -

i get that, but at the same time, there's more prominent matchups than that one to chose for a main event spot for a show like this one. -

The start of the show had a slightly higher start (it's been in the mid to high 900's since late January). The Young Bucks continue to be ratings death. Okada gonna have to do some heavy lifting with their carcass. Main event did horribly as expected too. It will take a long ass time for a match like that one to not make AEW fans chance the channel. -

The only number that mattered was the attendance, which was at the very least 7.7k paid (probably ended up at 8k) and close to 10k total in attendance. Ratings were never going to move for something that was never advertised. This is not 2021 anymore, AEW is cold as fuck when it comes to weekly TV, they were not debuting a new show and even the not announced return of Punk was better promoted with waay more wink wink silly stuff (plus, him coming back after 7 years + all the drama during his time out was bigger than Mercedes simply debuting in another company). -

Ospreay's promo level as a face is a welcome sight for this show. -

Wardlow is worthless as a heel. And without his streak he was worthless as a face too. -

That entrance theme is ass but I gotta give it to them for making such an easy thing to chant (C-E-O) over in less than a minute -
Gedo's had the book for 18 fucking years. He's 8 years past the point of letting someone else try new ideas.

Danielson vs Taylor was really good, loved the story. Would've liked Dragon to try the head stomps to make it full circle though.

WWE TV - 03/04 - 03/09 Dom vs GUNTHER is my type of bullshit
Jmare007 replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I think it's cool as fuck the crowd is so into the angle. As entertaining as Rock is -to the point he gets cheered no matter what he says- they all are fully behind Cody and Seth. It really is a home run of an angle. -
I never liked Kelly's play by play. I actively looked for the japanese commentary for New Japan shows because I couldn't stand him, lol. He's a non screaming version of Joe Tessitore to me.
-
Yeah, Tsuji seems like the one that could make the most of an out of nowhere title reign. But Shota could also get the belt and at least have a short "sink or swim" type of run were he at least learns some stuff. It worked with Jay White. It's just deflating how uninterested New Japan is in building these young guys. They are acting like they have years to pull this off when reality screams otherwise. It also feels way more aggravating when acts that don't really deliver in the ring and have a bunch of middle of pack wrestlers are getting the spotlight.

This felt like the best "reset" episode of AEW TV I've ever seen (following since mid-late 2021). A lot of good video packages, promos to either start programs or build up to next week. And even the big debut came with not only an immediate heel turn (that suits Okada perfectly btw) but also a big match set up for the future in Kenny vs Okada in U.S soil. Plus you end the show with the tease and set up for AEW Dynasty in Danielson vs Ospreay. Now I wonder how they handle Mercedes debut next week. Would be funny if Britt comes back to set up that match from the get go.

That sounds like 2025. If anything, the money program for the belt this year is gonna be Swerve vs Ospreay.
