Because Toni Storm put it on him. TK's dumb ass probqbly wasn't expecting the Jericho question to be asked before he has solo time. He actually took it off after he answered the question and then had to address the issue in two separate occassions.

HHH won. Every wrestling fan wins. Thank you Endeavor (for now?). PS: Can we edit the thread title? WWE been on the upswing for 2 years now and been getting nothing but awesome news for what feels the last 4 months, lol.

Lol, what? Lee was out 4 months after Full Gear 2022, and since he returned in March he's had like one or two matches each month. This year he's only had 17 matches total in AEW, and only 3 of them were singles matches that went past 8 minutes. I guess the Swerve match was initially booked to make another big injury angle to let him go rest again, but let's no act like Keith hasn't been given time to heal. If dude needed surgery and didn't get, not sure what you want AEW to do? We don't even know if they knew the extent of his injury.

If anything, I was gladly surprised that Joe won clean as whistle. In kayfabe, it makes the most sense that he did, but I was certain that if they pulled the trigger on him, it was going to be via Devil fuckery. Sooooo happy Cole and MJF wont have the AEW Title involved for their feud. Nah man, let Danielson get a month to heal after Okada beats him on Thursday and just go straight to Joe vs Swerve for the belt. I'd even do it on a special Dynamite in February so they can have a big title change on TV again, don't wait till Revolution and risk Swerve losing his momentum due to TK's booking.

The whole tournament, plus the post match promos have been uploaded to Youtube by AEW. Absolutely wonderful.

And it's not over, these damn promos man...

I agree, at least with her I'd be interested to see were they take the angle even though I have no faith in Tony being able to book something compelling.

Danielson vs Eddie was dope, specially if you watch it on FITE so you can hear Dragon being an asshole in the first commercial break and them slowly working up the strike exchange until the came back from the break. I lost it at BD screaming "BUM" at every strike he hit in the final sequence The final angle was as uninteresting as expected. Even though he's lost all the momentum he had 6 weeks ago, I'd still take Joe getting a cheap win and a short title reign to put Swerve over than MJF defying all odds again with a "separated shoulder". The fact we still have to wait for this Devil horseshit to be revealed is painful.

I don't know why people want Swerve downgrading to be the new de facto ROH champ. He shouldn't be winning the CC. He got protected as all hell, is still massively over and is gonna get a nice W over Keith Lee on PPV before going for the main belt, which is the thing he should be doing.

With one eye, Danielson made the absolute most out of this tournament. Classic run by him. And Eddie...can only imagine what's he's gonna do tonight, can't fucking wait.

TK better pony up the money for the first 25 minutes of Dynamite to be commercial free. People without FITE need to witness this coming match uninterrupted

Eddie vs Andrade was great after the commercial break. We getting Eddie vs Dragon III I was hoping Kingston could finally get his W over Danielson on PPV but live on Dynamite will have to be enough.
-
García vs Brody was really good too and it was the perfect example of why a tournament like this can work on a bunch of levels. Both are eliminated but both are more over than when they started and in the case of García, he finally has a real connection with the fans after more than a year of never really getting there with the crowd.

Loved Claudio vs Danielson. My favorite part was in the first half were they teased the giant swing a couple of times, with Dragon finding cool ways to avoid it and the Claudio finally doing it by just being too cotdamn powerful. The early hesitation on Claudio, who progressively got meaner and more violent -even headbutting Danielson's eye- to the point of that final exchange of stomps to the head was something that feels very fitting for two BCC members facing each other. It was dope seeing and hearing the crowd go on their feet for the final few seconds, kinda shows that the CC concept really worked, they wanted to see Claudio win and advance.

I mean, I don't think New Japan has gained anything significant out of that relationship. AEW wins most of their interpromotional matches -at best they can get the payback W, and most of the time it's not even in Japan, Okada beating Danielson is gonna be their biggest win in forever-, they very rarely lend main event talent for shows, they actually sign wrestlers that were important for New Japan and they haven't been able to come up with a useful excursion either. New Japan Strong has been the one that has gotten to rip some benefits but they are such a small operation that it doesn't really matter. At worst, they should sit with Tony and revise what the fuck is point (for New Japan) of having that working relationship.

I don't think that's true. An argument can be made that it hasn't made a significant difference on the positive side because every trend for the quarter hours has mostly stayed the same, but the CC matches do gain a little more viewers or lose a little less than the segments or matches that used to take place before the tourney. In the case of Collision it has actually reversed the trend of main events always losing viewers too (at least the ones that have Danielson in them). I also think the difference year to year isn't that significant either. At the end of the day, it's pretty natural for a company that has been cold for the past 18 months to have worse ratings than before.

Swerve has such a momentum that he completely eclipsed Joe's. I never though MJF would lose the strap in his hometown but Joe was looking like a good stop gap before Swerve could get it. Now it feels like they shouldn't go past early February without Swerve becoming champ.
-
I get why Tony feels so strongly about WBD but I've never understood why would he (as a businessman) attached himself so tightly to a company that every 5 years or so is going through a merger and some type of internal fuckery that more often than not ends up reshuffling plans put in motion by management. Now there's rumors of a Paramount merger and who knows what's gonna come out of that.

AEW TV - 12/13 - 12/16 - Look In My Eyyyeee, What Do You See?

I mean, he's said countless times he isn't retiring. Shit, depending on how his body holds up in the next 10 years, wouldn't shock me at all to see him back in a regular basis once both his kids are teenagers, he's truly insane about wrestling -

Another awesome promo from Danielson, that's 4 from this tournament alongside 4 dope matches -
I hope we get a 5 way tie at 9pts for the Blue League, just to see how the hell they explain the tie breakers . Or maybe they just do a 5 way elimination match for the semis lol.

Kenny out indefinitely and now SRS reports this I'm pretty sure TK's booking would've made sure to kill Mercedes' drawing power rather quickly, but not even having the chance to at least take advantage of a couple of months of good ticket sales thanks to her, plus a couple of interesting matchups is gonna hurt.

Basically everyone that follows AEW agrees that 1) Swerve should be their world champ ASAP and 2) the Devil storyline has no possible good payoff, which is gonna hurt even more than usual considering it's a mystery angle that has ran for 3-4 months at this point. And still, I have very little faith Tony's booking will let 1) happen at an appropriate time and continue to push 2) as a huge angle even though there's no way to make it compelling or even have a good reveal. -

Yeah, even if they have a rematch in the semifinals it feels like an unnecesary way to protect Mox. A draw would've been fine. I read that TK confirmed that the TC champion will defend the belts throughout the year (basically replacing the ROH champ) and now I don't want Swerve to win, but that L to Mox doesn't serve much of a purpose anyways. -
So there are legit semifinals so everything I posted goes out of the table, lmao
