  1. I feel like Tony/AEW really had something with Cole and MJF. The All In happened and that angle stopped in it's tracks and transitioned to "they are BFFs, tune in what funny fuckery they'll be involved in every week with Roderick Strong and The Kingdom" and after that PPV everything has been dragging. Cole getting injured was the nail in the coffin but even by Grand Slam, that angle was no longer compelling or can't miss. I actually like the idea of giving MJF a bunch of people gunning for the belt at the same time but it doesn't really feel like he's in any real danger. And the "Devil" mystery has been 4 weeks of literally nothing. It sounds like something that should work, but it really isn't clicking right now. Callis and his family has also moved at a snail's pace and a guy like Takeshita was never really able to follow through his momentum from 3 months ago. Everything else in AEW relies 90% on match making and match quality. And stuff like Miro and his wife, Skye Blue going to the ¿blue side? and Santana/Ortiz are not angles that can carry a TV show. I'm ok with watching fun matches but considering Danielson is not gonna be on TV long -dude is made of crystal at this point, sadly- I don't foresee TK being able to keep me as a watcher and sometimes PPV buyer once Dragon finishes his contract in 2024. I'd love to be proven wrong.
  2. That makes more sense, it was just too coincidental to have happened in the tag match. Him being back "later this year" seems like a lucky break -no pun intended- then.
  3. Is OC the most successful gimmick of the 2020s in the U.S and Japan? I don't want to include México as I don't follow lucha but man, the way Cassidy has been able to integrate his very unique style and character and become one of the most reliable workers in a national promotion is the sort of thing that should count on his favor I think. Dude got better each year and did it in "hard mode", so to speak. Seems to me he'll end up a very viable candidate to enter a top 100 by 2026.
  4. I agree, just out of nowhere remembering you had an easy angle and big match at your disposal (Kenny wanting to keep his record) feels like really bad planning on TK's part.
  5. If the injury is real, letting Dragon go to WK to fight Okada, were the story is Danielson being pissed off about getting shit broken every time they face each other, seems like another injury waiting to happen. Don't picture Dragon working a safe match when the story calls for him to be unhinged. Edit:specially when both injuries happened with things he's done his entire career and not because of working hard or reckless/risky
  6. Danielson/Claudio vs Okada/OC made me want to watch a singles match between Cassidy and Claudio waaaaaaaaaay more than a rematch between Dragon and Okada, Any wrestler that can do stuff that reminds you Castagnoli is most likely wrestling's GOAT base is someone that we need to see him face off for 15-20 minutes uninterrupted. I think Rainmaker might be one of the few people Danielson doesn't have much chemistry with, hopefully they prove me wrong for their inevitable rematch at WK.
  7. Ook then...
  8. Not sure were to post this but WWE announced a Germany PLE 1 week after All In 2024 at Wembley. I truly wonder if ticket demand is huge, they upgrade to a football stadium and all hell breaks loose.
  9. I just hope it's better than the Andre doc. Simmons hyped that one up so much and it ended up being a cool WWE Network doc produced by HBO.
  10. I think most of us still called them or perceived them as TNA and never as Impact Wrestling so I don't think this change is that big of deal. Them trying to put more money into it is way bigger news.
  11. CMLL thrilled with AEW. They made another press release were they praise the company and wish this was a first step for a long term relationship. Even went out of their way to say Luttheroth was treated well.
  12. Yeah, pretty crazy how he's still a difference maker in certain markets.
  13. LMAO, the only thing that happened was you saying Christian was a key/central/pillar figure (or whatever word you use) in the Attitude Era. No one who is serious in PWO has ever argued that Christian isn't a great professional wrestler and certainly I haven't seen no damn argument about Edge being better than him. The only thing it means it's "he's Edge but we can't say that name. Remember he's the Rated R Superstar too?!?". It's a gimmick he can't pull off in 2023 and even if it was possible, Copeland at 49 years old, with a wife and kids, ain't gonna be the one doing shocking shit on TV to get some ratings. I understand why he's promoted that way, they want the familiarity of the name but it quickly becomes an empty nickname. And so far, it's been pretty evident fans do not care to tune in, nor buy tickets, to watch Copeland in AEW so the Rated R stuff ain't making a lick of a difference.
  14. Most of PWO already knew that. You should try this shtick on Twitter if what you want is people arguing with you
  15. Only think I can come up with is that when they ran the segment down before the show there was no interaction between the two. And when Ricky threw that little shot, the veteran didn't like it. No matter how you slice it though, Copeland comes out looking terrible. I don't think the vanilla midget line means anything in 2023 but it just shows terrible judgement from a guy that's supposed to be the reliable veteran.
  16. Btw, PnP is a nice feature but seeing the fans helping Danielson get up so he could be the 10 count and not being able to hear Nigel undoubtedly lose his shit on commentary is a cotdamn crime.
  17. Christian vs Danielson was fucking great. Best outcome too, though I gotta wonder if it was Ricky just being a little shit or if he's actually gonna get a third match with Dragon.
  18. Yeah, I also think TK didn't expect Dynamite to do better than NXT last night either but he wanted to put on a fight and I'm glad he did. I'm happy he cares about this shit. What I believe he completely oversold in his head was the impact Edge could have in his product though. My impression is that he truly thought there was going to be a spark with Copeland in AEW, and there wont be one. The matchup with NXT is whatever, they had to move days, WWE is hotter than in two decades probably? and they put every single needle mover possible except for Roman in their developmental brand. There was no way it wasn't going to be a clear L. The thing he has to worry about is ticket sales, imo. He's so damn stubborn with some of his choices for venues, WWE has Chicago on lock for the last week of November and TK books the NOW Arena for a Dynamite that same week. The result? a market that has already been ran to death has only bought 1,3k tickets so far.
  19. That was an awesome trailer. Only nitpick would be the Ric Flair casting but I doubt we'll get more than 1-2 scenes with him. People are gonna get mad depressed with this film, which is fitting for such a tragic story.
  20. I don't think we have any evidence that Copeland "helped stop the bleeding", the company is in the exact same place as 2 weeks ago but with 1 youtube video that had millions of views. But all that doom and gloom narrative ain't warranted either.
  21. The Dan LeBatard show crew has had Tony a ton of times and they always give him shyt when he goes into full promoter mode when avoiding a question. This time around the drilled him with the Punk situation and it was a great exchange https://youtu.be/JPG_omGXDR8
  22. I like Tony going into desperation mode but I'd hope Twitter wasn't his only tool for promoting. The advances for every single show besides Full Gear are all below 3,000 (there's a Dynamite in Montreal that barely passes it too), I know that when a company is cold there's not gonna be an overnight change unless something huge happens, but more local promoting would probably benefit them.
  23. Yeah, I immediately went to pessimistic mode with this title change. Now the Bucks can win the straps in their hometown against a heel tag team
  24. Well I'll be damned seemed PWO didn't give a shit about this . Didn't see every single match but all I saw was at the very least fun, and there were some standout matches. -Opener was cool. Gotta handed it to MJF, dude knows how to get very simple shyt over. He has a dropkick, a double clothesline and now a bodyslam as new "signature" spots the crowd will react to. Love how he found a way to take advantage over the fact that AEW's fanbase has seen every move on the planet at this point, so why not just have fun with the most basic ones? -Eddie vs Shibata was great. An 8-10 minute match is perfect for a back and forth strike fest with some good submissions sprinkled in. Favorite part was Shibata being in control and Eddie desperately trying to hit a backdrop driver just to get a breather. Those 2 minutes or so were the kind of shyt I fukking love in wrestling. -Only skimmed through the TBS title match. Agreed with whoever said Julia's moonsault looks like it's gonna destroy her knees in record time. Bummer that Statlander retained. -Skipped the tag match. Young Bucks gonna win the tag belts in L.A in Full Gear, bleh. I do wonder if there's gonna be a big stipulation attached to it. -Swerve vs Hangman. I was legit frustrated at how Page refused to actually work the hand and just attack it as a desperation or reset move. But then Swerve fucked Hangmayne's arm up, worked on it like you are supposed to and I loved the contrast between both approaches (and how Swerve's was better). I'll let the Nana stuff slide (lmao at that not being a DQ) because Strickland won and he 100% had to get this W. If Ricky is not the one to dethrone MJF, then Swerve should, that man is fukking ready for a title run. -Skipped most of Ricky vs Yuta, obvious and necessary win for Starks. -Danielson vs Sabre was dope as hell. Would've loved to see even more mat based exchanges but I understand why they took it to more strikes for the second half of the match. Nigel is the best heel hater commentator since Bobby Heenan, the way he was having a damn orgasm when ZSJ was hurting Dragon's right arm had me in stitches, I know he's praying to every available deity that Bryan is healthy for All In so they can have their last match in Wembley. Loved how they protected Zack by making Danielson win with the knee and Sabre being the more skillful mat wrestler in the end. -Skimmed through the 6 man. Holy fukk at some of the bumps those guys were taking, saw Kenny fukk his head or neck up like three times. This got me wanting a Takeshyta/Ospreay tag team, just imagine all the insane shyt those two could do. -I'll watch the tag match tomorrow, is too damn late and I wont put the attention this deserves and I wanted to get to the main event. -After such a long show, I gotta salute both Christian and Darby for making the maint event feel fresh and worthy of that spot. It's impossible to describe the level of crazy Darby is with these bumps, I hope he gets a raise soon. Christian is fukking awesome, lost my shyt at how he looked at Edge and asked him "what do you want?"
  25. Mox on commentary for Claudio vs Josh is fucking GOLD
