  1. Wouldn't the Gold League be over one week in advance if either of them win? At most they could tie at 12 (which would require Swerve losing to Rush in the final week) and whoever wins next week has the tie breaker anyway. They kinda have to draw to keep things interesting.
  2. Mox vs Swerve Is gonna be the first draw, right?
  3. And now Narita joined House of Torture, lol. For the love of Terry Funk, someone take the fucking book away from Gedo.
  4. Well, if WWE is not making good money on house shows given how well they've been doing for the past year, then I kind agree they have to change the model because it's not gonna get better than what they are making right now.
  5. I mean, Okada becoming a free agent in February isn't really news. He usually becomes one considering how short term New Japan contracts are, lol. But with Bushiroad having a shitty year and wanting to cut costs, I guess this is the ideal time for someone to come in an snatch Okada away from them. It would be a heavy blow though, they have no one set up to become their next Ace. I have no clue why Tsuji, Umino and Narita are still booked as midcarders.
  6. I feel like we should get Eddie vs Dragon III with Kingston finally getting the W, though at the same time they could save that for later on a PPV.
  7. Has it been confirmed if there's going to be semifinals for the shows in Orlando? I think I heard Tony announce them but he could've just been implying that each block gets decided that week and not straight up semis.
  8. And fuck Ric Flar man, it's 2023 let's talk about how awesome Eddie was yesterday. Dude screaming "no" to Danielson knowing he was about to lose and go 0-2 in the tournament before getting his head knee'd off was beautiful.
  9. Yeah, the company is still in the red as far as we know. They just continue to get bigger revenue after a 2023 with more PPVs, the monster that was All In, a new TV deal for Collision (plus some international deals) and more shows because of that. I think it was Brandon Thurston who theorized that the only way for AEW to be profitable in the short term is that the next TV deal is indeed the big bump they are expecting it to be. Regardless, they are not in trouble and they'll more than likely come out of 2024-2025 looking stronger than ever financially.
  10. Holy fuck, Dragon vs Kingston II might take it over Claudio vs Brody. Eddie was incredible in that one, my god.
  11. Claudio vs Brody was fucking awesome. Match of the tourney so far.
  12. Matt, I know you have. But you answering business/drawing arguments with your personal opinion on the product is always quite something
  13. A part of me feels like the crowd that followed The Elite everywhere and spent money on them on a level we had never seen before on a niche product/act had their series finale once Hangman beat Kenny for the belt. I could be completely wrong but I feel those fans that started the wave in the mid 2010's and basically made it possible to create AEW and make it a viable n°2 option in the U.S weren't gonna stay by 2023 no matter what. At least not in a way that could've saved the company from falling to the level it's been at for the past year.
  14. They better fucking pay Austin enough for him to be on a couple of TV shows in the build to cut some damn promos. I was so disappointment he never showed up to son Kevin Owens and do the type of shit he did to Miz and the students on Tough Enough.
  15. Rock did say on Joe Rogan's podcast last week that a party approached him for a presidential run but he declined. Only saw the clip were he discusses that topic but from the feedback I read, it seems Rocky mastered the art of talking for hours and not say much of anything
  16. If Rock is to be believed that wasn't an issue, surprisingly so.
  17. The whole report Sounds like TK doing damage control on some "even Danielson thought I had to fire him!"
  18. RE: Roman vs Rock. Rocky implied in that McAfee interview (I think it was in that one at least) that the reason they could never get on the same page and pull the trigger on the match was because Rock wanted something more long term and not just 1 match at Mania. It seemed to me he presented WWE an idea similar to the Cena year long angle and WWE passed on it.
  19. I guess it depends if the winner ends up having to defend the TC in ROH and other companies. If that's the case I wouldn't give it to Swerve, he should be getting an AEW world title reign soon and a short run with this new experiment would just take him away from AEW TV most likely. If it's just a symbolic thing and the winner is just as the G1 or Champions Carnival, then yeah, give it to Swerve.
  20. The site I got the info from had it wrong, Claudio and Brody IS booked for Collision (had to check a Twitter video from AEW to confirm, lol). Only Danielson and Andrade should be doing double duty in the coming weeks to catch up with the rest. They are doing semi finals on Dec 27th so everything has to be settled by Coliision on Dec. 23rd.
  21. They'll probably fill time with Punk until he can have a real feud with Seth. It's basically gonna play out very similarly to what happened in AEW. It took a couple of months before the Kingston feud.
  22. Yup, the path is right there and it's clear as day.
  23. Continental Classic matchups for this week: Dynamite: Mark Briscoe vs. RUSH Jon Moxley vs. Jay Lethal Swerve Strickland vs. Jay White Collision Bryan Danielson vs. Eddie Kingston Andrade El Idolo vs. Daniel Garcia Claudio Castagnoli vs Brody King Also, it was confirmed MJF injured his shoulder but will still defend the belt at World's End. Considering the amount of steroids the dude is using it's kind of a miracle he hasn't completely torn a muscle. Just put the belt on Joe.
  24. Being The Elite lasted more than 7 years, that's an eternity in wrestling. I think the bigger issue is how the Buck's impact in the products is basically zero. Their matches lose viewers every time, they are not huge merch movers anymore and they make no difference moving tickets (like 95% of the roster). Right now their only real asset is being friends with Kenny and keeping them meant keeping Omega.
  25. I'm all for having fun and laughing at wrestlers being carnies but for some reason Punk being one of them rubs people the wrong way and they have to make a point of telling others how much of a carny he really is. It's not 2005-2010, he's not a rebel. He's just another wrestler finding ways to get people to support him so he can make as much money as possible, lol. And PS: I really hate the way Seth Rollins wrestles, but I do have to salute him for the amount of effort he's putting into this so he and Punk can have a worked shoot feud with a bunch of "pipe boms" promos that WWE fans will lose their shit to.
