This has been a really fun 6 man tag. Whoever is in charge of AEW's camera cuts hasn't gotten any better in the year and a half I've been watching.

I'd love a Christian vs Rick Starks feud this year.

Missed the opener but I'm so happy Ricky won. Jericho better move on to something else and liberate Starks, two clean Ws are more than enough.

I don't know man, I don't think Wardlow being TNT champ benefits the company nor the belt right now.

I mean, there's no compelling matchups cooked up for MJF either (Ricky being the exception too). If Hangman is the next n°1 contender it's gonna be a bleh feud with both Max and Danielson, even though he does have great in ring chemistry with Dragon. At this point any big name on the roster could get a 2-3 match winning steak and get a title shot so I don't see this problem being related to Bryan being champ. I don't see a title switch at all on Sunday but whatever happens, TK should try to run the Hangman match quickly on Dynamite and get someone else to carry the next PPV feud.

"Let your All Stars be All Stars" is something Tony has weirdly avoided as much as he can, and it's very weird.

Honest question, do we think Revolution is breaking 120k buys? I have a hard time picturing this doing better than Forbidden Door

Are there more matches expected to be announced for the PPV? Having 7 matches + the Iron Man match seems like the most generous offer TK could give us (4 hr PPV at most).

It's insane that a big (ish) matchup like HOB vs The Elite only got 10 days of real build up. They could've done something worth a damn if they started this in late January or early February.

Yup, and after the PPV there's still no compelling challenger waiting for a shot, even though there 3 whole months to give people some momentum. I guess Hangman vs Mox is supposed to be that program but I don't see Page vs MJF being a big attraction at this point. They had something with Starks but he'll need a palate cleanser after the Jericho feud. I guess Revolution could end with another Tony Khan voice mail, this timed aimed at Punk before so he can return the same way MJF did or some shit

It is kinda crazy how both Hangman and MJF have had very similar title reigns in terms of impact/perception.

AEW was running a plain bad product from August to December and it had nothing to do with Wrestlemania or even WWE. There's a reason why the run of shows from December to January felt so refreshing, it was because fans were asking for something like that for months. 2022 was a mess after the Punk presser, to the point AEW lost a lot of the good faith people had in them. So of course the build up to a PPV looking as dryas this one -when they had 3 fucking months to come up with stuff- is gonna make people question stuff. So the idea that Tony is "saving stuff" for after Wrestlemania is not that convincing when he was supposedly saving stuff for most of 2022 too (we were asking for a reset in June and got it in December).

If that's the strategy then don't book one of your four solo PPV of the year (Forbiden Door being the fifth) one month before Wrestlemania.
