  1. 2CW will be live streaming their final show(s) on YouTube for those that won't be there (So everyone here). I believe it'll be free. So far Young Bucks, 2 Cold Scorpio, Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan, Candice LeRae, and AR Fox+more are confirmed. The show is actually made up of a first set at 3:30 and a second set at 7PM. So it'll be an all day thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DhF1s1Fsws
  2. Was quite taken aback that Devon sounded SO much like Dylan. I was lucky enough to have Skype light up with the right person when they were talking or I would have been completely and utterly lost. Also, appreciate the kind words about the show because I need positive reinforcement even if I didn't necessarily bring the positive entertainment value
  3. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/shoot-week-never-dies Pro wrestling dead but banter is alive and well. TJ Hawke, Devon Hales, and Dylan Hales join Sam in what can only be described as a complete whirlwind of disaster. The foundation for the Roman Reigns political hit theory is laid. Burials are made. The holes are dug so deep that you can see the middle of the earth. There is also a series of randomness that I can't possibly explain.
  4. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/scumbags-sam Hot takes aplenty on this week's We Don't Know Wrestling. Some "strong" opinions on Sasha Banks and Zack Sabre Jr. from this week's guest Rob Reid. A man of podcasts even if he maybe shouldn't be. Same goes for Tanner really. We almost witness the first death of someone on We Don't Know Wrestling. Who? Find out by listening!
  5. Though the reason that seeing Brodie live, specifically in a promotion that treated him like a big deal, is probably a lot different than why you think Mark Briscoe is even better live.
  6. Not that it is probably entirely relevant to most here but in a promotion where the main draw was ex-WWE attractions more often than not, Brodie Lee was consistently one of the most over acts in the company.
  7. Death to Upstate NY wrestling.
  8. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/pro-wrestling-eh-rilla Tanner and Sam are joined by TJ Hawke this week to talk...to talk. AJPW comes up which of course leads to us talking about how cool Akebono is. As with all modern wrestling discussions dictate we barrel through a tirade of promotions that are not booked well or at least booked in a manner that we would consider enjoyable. Survivor Series is certainly a show that is happening on Sunday if you were curious.
  9. The more I think about it the less likely it is that The Big Rig gets left off my ballot. Admittedly he is going to benefit some from being the focal point for my local promotion for a few years and creating a genuine aura in 2CW. In WWE I think he has been a victim of a lack of opportunity. Even then he has tended to come across as one of the top handful of wrestlers in the promotion having stellar performances on C-shows. Lee/Harper is also one of the best short match workers in the 21st century possibly? At least in America where in WWE he's knocked it out in that department and on the indies he was doing that as well. In an environment where longer was usually viewed as better he was knocking it out of the park in under 15. Lee has an absolutely lovely match with Jon Moxley from EVOLVE that is like 6-8 minutes and a totally bonkers match.
  10. Is there a way to get beyond the idea that he's "One of the Dragon Gate guys" if we need this context to appreciate his big matches? Or any of the other Dragon Gate wrestlers for that matter?
  11. I BELIEVE the argument is not that Mochizuki specifically needs context to be appreciated at a certain level but that Dragon Gate as a promotion needs context for its top end matches. Granted if I absolutely need context to think your matches are great I won't vote for you cause I just don't have the time to test the theory that a ton of context changes my opinion on a person/match. Admittedly I'm a bit skeptical on the context idea since people that seem to enjoy BIG TIME Dragon Gate are more likely to enjoy stylistically similar matches where the context argument is rarely brought up.Not saying that context elevates the match for many Dragon Gate fans but I'd have a hard time buying that if it were a match that happened in a different promotion that it would still be viewed as great by more or less the same people. Maybe that's just me.
  12. I would like to nominate Luke Harper/Brodie Lee based on reasons: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/26140-the-shield-vs-wyatt-family-wwe-main-event-040814/ http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/25511-daniel-bryan-vs-the-wyatt-family-wwe-monday-night-raw-123013/ http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/25315-the-shield-vs-wyatt-family-wwe-elimination-chamber-022314/
  13. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/we-dont-know-wrestle-kingdom-2 TNA's GLOBAL IMPACT...errr...I mean NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 2. What a show it was! Kurt Angle and Yuji Nagata square off in a match that was lauded at the times as a GREAT match. Does it hold up? Shinsuke Nakamura and Hiroshi Tanahashi square off in the main event where they look slightly different than the performers in 2015. ALSO, Scott Steiner being awesome, Abyss and Nakanishi putting on the MOTY, and so much more. PLUGS: twitter.com/_InYourCase QUESTIONABLE LINK TO NAKANISHI vs ABYSS videos.sapo.pt/UJke22IEWqOgfpmGbqZL
  14. Not that this means much to most here but I think CNY will be an interesting independent area in 2016. With 2CW leaving there is certainly a gap being left. NEW ran a show last weekend in Aurburn, NY though it was probably just a charity show but the area could be a stop in the tour they do about once a year. Xcite Wrestling is running a show in Binghamton, NY on 12/4: - WWE/NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano vs Lucha Underground Superstar Ricochet - TITLE FOR TITLE Xcite Heavyweight Champion Matt Cross vs CZW Heavyweight Champion Matt Tremont - LAST MAN STANDING Joe Gacy vs Alex Payne - LADDER MATCH FOR THE SHOWCASE TITLE Champion Rob Cook vs Draven vs Nick Napoleon - AR Fox vs Sozio -Sean Carr © vs. Yusuke Kodama for the 2CW Championship Now, that has some fun stuff in the way of Cross vs. Tremont and Kodama vs. Carr. They are the company that can really step up to fill a void if they put some real effort into it. Going to be interesting for me in the very least with significantly less shows to attend in my general area next year.
  15. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/not-my-cousin-vinnie Sam came up with a terrible name for a much better episode of We Don't Know Wrestling. Sam and Tanner are joined by Vinnie Masaro (@SnoringElbow) to talk wrestling. Also video games but mostly wrestling. You've got the Seth Rollins injury, PWG holding events, and I don't know, #connectthedots.
  16. Tbf now that I think about it Fox probably wouldn't be in my Top 20. Also, I did something closer to my Top 20 of 2015 over Top 20 in the World cause I have no idea how to judge that. You are probably not missing anything with Fox. He can be "business exposing bad". At the same time he can be completely nuts and live up to the idea of a modern day Sabu that he so clearly wants to be. Also, most of my experience with him this year has been live where he has some matches that are hot fire against Colin Delaney and a tag match with Mike Bailey against Colin Delaney/Cheech that melted faces. If you like a wrestler who's just dumb enough to try things then Fox is your guy. That CLEARLY isn't for a lot of people.
  17. IMAGINE thinking something fresh is coming out of this.
  18. No order. Not even certain they would be my Top 20 in a week. Roderick Strong AJ Styles Chris Hero KUSHIDA Cesaro John Cena Timothy Thatcher Drew Galloway AR Fox Roman Reigns Sasha Banks Luke Harper Mike Bailey Biff Busick Drew Gulak Dragon Lee II Kamataichi Brock Lesnar Daniel Bryan Fenix
  19. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/sponsored-by-shootweek2 Sam and Tanner are joined by Mr.@TheFrayMovement this week to discuss...well that's a real good question once you phrase it like that. We talk about a lot of things I suppose. The WONHOF drops during the show so we make sure t talk about that. Sam gets a wee bit tired and ignores the Southern lads for a bit. Fray is a motivational speaker. Tanner is. Enjoy the banter.
  20. https://soundcloud.com/wedontknowwrestling/we-dont-know-wrestle-kingdom-1 Case Lowe and Sam decide to start this little series of shows where we go through all the Wrestle Kingdoms. We start with the very first which was main evented by a group of older lads. You also have Toshiaki Kawada vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki. And other stuff of course. Really looking forward to doing this series and gaining some insight on the event that is a massive staple for many wrestling calendars.
  21. Meaning, disliking the promotional style of Memphis [Pick a promotion or such of your choosing] versus saying "AMERICAN WRESTLING IS TRASH!". So to say you don't prefer the WWE style is not saying you don't enjoy WCW or ROH. To say you don't enjoy Lucha is to say you don't enjoy a country's representation of wrestling (not saying that is what you are saying btw).
  22. I know it is ultimately unfair but I feel alright when someone is negative towards a promotional style versus something more cultural.
  23. I mean in the past 5 years or so. Whenever the Fed dropped blood, more or less.
  24. Does saying "modern cage vs. modern ladder" change the discussion for you?
  25. We have certainly stolen it. Which is what we do.
