  1. I'm expecting Cody to be willing to lose his butt on this. And if he pools with Amell then we got something wild here. The problem is it will come down to the card because it isn't enough of a draw to have lots of names on the card. At least not a 10K person draw.
  2. I'm going to attempt to locate last year's files later. Have a laptop and external HD it could be on. Sweet, that’d be awesome. I didn't understand the original request. I have most of the old shows but I'm not planning on uploading ALL of them. Trying to keep everything on this feed but will see what I can do on this front. If you have any specific requests I can expedite those this weekend.
  3. I think they have several options on the table for streaming between ROH Honor Club or whatever it's going to be called, regular ROH PPV through the Fite App, HighSpots (there's probably something there since they did that live "Ask The Elite" live stream a couple months back right after the initial Jericho/Omega angle), or even NJPW World if they are involved. I can't imagine pretty smart business people like the Bucks who monetize literally everything leaving that easy revenue on the table. I know they want to make it a destination show but the reality is that there are plenty of people who don't have a spare $1K for the trip, ticket, and accommodations that would pay $15 (or whatever) for a stream of it at home. Not to mention, I don't think guys are going to be wanting to take pay cuts just to be on this show (like I have heard speculated, I think on the VOW Flagship pod). Big names need to be paid. The BIG NAMES won't take pay cuts, sure. The Mysterios will still cost their price tag. Any indie name though like a Keith Lee or a Sami Callihan would take that cut. I have no qualms with saying that this show is not being ran with the idea of making lots of money. It is entirely a statement show. They are going to need every single person they can to make that trip and streaming it live seems like an obvious thing to do in 2018 it does seem counter to the destination event they are presenting.
  4. I would say there is a 50/50 chance this is streamed. 90% chance Highspots releases it.
  5. Who has confirmed it will be a streaming PPV?
  6. Where did you get that Bryan date? Everything I have heard for the past year says late September is when it is up.
  7. Could I get added to this for the future? Seems really fun.
  8. I'm going to attempt to locate last year's files later. Have a laptop and external HD it could be on.
  9. I asked that it not be, since GWE's lasting impact on this board was a bit negative and the discussion became too personal at times. I don't think that's the destiny of all countdown projects, and I'm sure this one will go well. It's just that for a variety of reasons, I don't think this is the right message board to do it. Hope GME is nearly as successful as GWE at creating long lasting grudges.
  10. Also, Eddie Kingston vs. Mike Quackenbush would likely make my list.
  11. I'm on board, don't have to twist my arm.
  12. Totally unexpected. Seemed like NJPW would be more interested in doing a full game for themselves but this is the best case scenario when PS4 likely won't have the same mod community as PC. Super amped.
  13. Option 1. While there are matches I would miss, it wouldn't outweigh the sadness of not getting to see MORE.
  14. Going to go through this thread and see what are obviously misses on my end. My current top 20 though is in order. 15. wXw NOW is mostly for the super wXw fans and I would only recommend it if you are interested in their back catalog. You can watch a large chunk of WALTER's career with the service so maybe that's worth it for you. Highspots might not have all the bells and whistles but you get the vast majority of shows uploaded there. wXw NOW is for the niche of the niche. They did just upload a dojo show I would be interested in watching. Quick note on IWA Mid-South on Powerbomb, while there is IWA Mid-South content on Highspots, the new content is coming to Powerbomb which is a big distinction. Powerbomb, in general, has made big leaps this year. The SMV relationship seems to be neater in theory than practice outside of IWA MS who actually uploads 2017 content. The big deal is Beyond Wrestling which is now the brand leader for the service. That's a promotion that runs regularly and puts content up quick. Digital first promotion ftw. Anarachy also uploads content regularly and hope they get talked up more in 2018. They just ran Gunner Miller vs. Matt Riddle II which would be great if that gets uploaded. I sub to Powerbomb and Highspots and really wouldn't need anything else. Might mix it up in 2018.
  16. Love lurking. Will continue to do so. I need to be better at posting but typically topics get away from me and delve into topics in wrestling I'm not familiar with. Here's to 2018
  17. Next year the plan is to mix things up a little. Probably try to max out at 3 hours per show. Either way I have loved people tweeting along as they go. There was a lot of good discussion paired with politics, betrayals, personal attacks, quips, and laughs.
  18. http://wdkwrestling.libsyn.com/formerly-known-as-always-bury-tanners-3-part-2 Sometimes in life, you make choices that you regret. The FKAABTs3 will be one of those choices, filled with more of those choices. It is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma. We wrap up the WDKW year-end awards by going through Promotion of the Year, Match of the Year, and Wrestler of the Year. No panelist or nominee won. Everyone lost. Never forget that. We come close to 5 hours of action so I have timestamped the categories for your pleasure. Promotion of the Year 00:03:06-01:23:42 Match of the Year 01:23:48-02:40:02 Wrestler of the Year 02:40:27-04:42:11 Banter 04:42:12-END
  19. http://wdkwrestling.libsyn.com/formerly-known-as-always-bury-tanners-3-part-1 The boys are back in town to bring you the only year-end award show in wrestling that matters, the Formerly Known As The Always Bury Tanners. Now, technically there have only been 2 FKAABTs but since the original was called the Always Bury Tanners I have decided to retcon the naming structure. The "judges" are myself, Tanner, Dylan Hales, Devon Hales, and New York Mike. We miss TJ dearly. Anyways, here we are. The awards on this episode are Hoot of the Year, Show of the Year, and Tag Team of the year. What is supposed to be a warm-up for Part 2 becomes a banter session. Can't disclose more for political reasons.
  20. So far so good on these topics. I am expecting less about this one but we will see. Not even sure what a front runner for WWE looks like. Same for NJPW I guess. My vote would be for wXw AMBITION if I was shooting off the cuff. Great tournament. Moved at a good clip. Sort of wish there was a fun superfight to break things up. No wrestler put in a bad shift. LET ME HERE YOUR CONTENDERS FOR SHOW OF THE YEAR 2017!
  21. What's the consensus on top 10 contender Nick Gage?
  22. They didn't run a show in 2017.
  23. Sorry if I'm ruining the plans of someone who was going to post an actual award process for PWO. Going to come back to this later but I think AAW and wXw would be my front runners for this. Good business. Good wrestling. Expanded their efforts in 2017. Both have big finales coming up.
  24. Would have been interested in you picking a part his case rather than just dropping it joeg but alright. Starr and WALTER has been the best rivalry of 2017. Every match they square off with one another is a display of violence. WALTER comes off as a complete monster while Starr feels like the best babyface on the planet. His body language is incredible and his eyes can deliver their own punch to the stomach. They have done it in tags and singles and each time it is incredible. Starr has also shown that as a quasi-deathmatch wrestler he as actually pretty great. The matches against Janela and Gage are beyond those of a traditional hardcore match. Riddle had a great match against Gage but he didn't EMBRACE the environment like Starr who screamed as he tore off barbed wire from a board with his bare hands. Not saying Janela and Gage weren't big parts of those matches but I highly appreciate a wrestler embracing that style of wrestling when it comes at him. Other matches of note that I want to throw out in his favor, the I Quit match against I Quit. The banter gets a bit gross at times but the concept plus the quality of action makes the overall journey with it in my eyes. Has two matches against Zack Sabre. Jr. in CZW and PROGRESS, both being great. Pair those with his matches against Matt Riddle and Jeff Cobb and he is as good as anyone on the mat. The Homicide wXw match as a nice throwback ROH 2000's midcard match was a hoot. There is also a Corey Hollis match from PWX which is probably going to be in my top 10 for MOTY. I recommend watching Lio Rush vs. Corey Hollis after because it is similar in concept but magnitudes worse in execution. Made me appreciate a match I love a little more. The Hollis match is a strong example of Starr selling a limb as well as showing him at his most sympathetic. So yes, David Starr, really. PS For what it is worth I right now have WALTER #2. The Starr series. The Thatcher tag. Works well with everyone. Demigod. Has it all.
  25. Sometimes it feels like PWO is more "old school" focused with such quality discussion on this thread I'm interested to hear who you think is this year's Wrestler of the Year and why. You can use any metric you want. For me it is without question David Starr. Has wrestled a ton of places this year, putting on good to great matches everywhere. Then when you see him in his homebases of Beyond and wXw he cranks it up to another level against guys like WALTER and Joey Janela.
