  1. The next Thor movie is filming in Australia.
  2. It has since been edited.
  3. Batista has been removed from the induction roll.
  4. I forget the episode numbers, but Place To Be Podcast rebooted their Vintage Vault series to go back from the beginning of the WWF super cards, and as goodies added the monthly MSG cards. So you can go back a few years to hear their coverage of these shows.
  5. Yeah but the weekly basic cable flagship shows were where a lot of the trashier aspects of the era were. PPVs were a bit on the tamer side. Yeah you had moments, but for the most part what made the era trashy was more prevalent on Raw and Smackdown
  6. What I find a little humorous, not quite ironic though, is that he ought to have been in the group that is representing the nWo in the 2020 class, whom will be inducted in the same ceremony this year. Would have been cool if he became a 2x HOFer in the same ceremony.
  7. You’re not wrong for that assumption, though Sunny had the same like career, minus the matches and wasn’t as nearly as white hot as Sable was at her peak (mainstream attention for the product will do that), yet she got in. What we don’t know though, and in the WWE Hall case, you might as well add this to the mix when it comes to the “Why isn’t so and so in” conversations, is if she had been invited in the past or not. Certainly since her hubby returned to the company almost a decade ago now. We know people have gone on record saying they’ve turned down invites for inductions (Honky Tonk Man) and plenty of gone on record saying they’d flat out refuse it if asked (Scott Steiner). Plus there is the whole event aspect of the selection process, and what goes into putting the classes together means there are plenty they haven’t gotten to whom whoever passes ideas for induction classes to Vince probably haven’t gotten to, or it’s assumed “they were in already.” Could be a case that Molly was just the first name on a randomly put together call list.
  8. All giving you crap over the “Top 5 of The Attitude Era” comment aside, I wonder how much the signing is going to hurt Christian’s eventual enshrinement. I’d imagine they were leaning towards inducting him this year, or at least within the next 5 years, until he realized he still had something left in the tank. So who knows how far his clock got reset for.
  9. Almost feels like it was done just so Jericho could do a little 4th wall breaking (slight pun intended) with the swerve within the swerve line of “Do you think we don’t talk to each other every single day!?” Which was a nice touch, but yeah it does seem like a little plot hole. Like what would happen if he did get the Inner Circle to turn on Jericho and Sammy? A bloated mega stable? Does seem like a two week angle jammed into one single segment. Like MJF should have sic’ed FTR, Warlow and Spears on the IC this coming week, following getting turfed for insubordination.
  10. See, that’s the point the “haters” are making. This wasn’t a case of rampant dirt sheet/hot newz sites idle speculation causing exceptions to be so high. Had say Wight said “A strong veteran talent you all should know is coming” then yes, the haters would be acting like trolling douches. But the overhype of “HOF caliber” and more teases, especially from Uncle Tony himself, lent everyone to think that a much bigger, and historically significant icon was coming. I said it before, in terms of major team sport HOFs, Christian is that great star player that bubbled just under the top stars of the day, and position. Not a first ballot HOFer, but toils for a number of years on the ballot, or gets in through another entrance, but will get in eventually. Best you could say is would get in the promotion/team he played for’s “Hall” as soon as possible but not something more general (WON, the PW Hall in Texas).
  11. Since this is going to be a combo class, why not use the old thread! Molly Holly (for no apparent reason I started typing “Mighty” from when they briefly paired her with Hurricane Helms) is the first announced member of the 2021 class!
  12. True, but the point is “Jessie Nearly OD’ing On Caffeine Pills” or “Jessie I’m So Excited/Scared” isn’t something you are going to search for on a search engine for an archive of streamingSBTB episodes. That is something that is more geared towards the YouTubes of streaming platforms where the isolated scene can be pulled up (in various time lengths) without knowing what episode the clip is from (Jessie’s Song, S2 Ep 9).
  13. It’s not the signing, it’s the AEW/Uncle Tony overhype
  14. The team was Top 5...the specific characters? Not as much. I mean Billy Gunn and Road Dogg aren’t breaking a top 15 of specific performers, but NAO are up there in the upper echelon of the era.
  15. Yeah but the hype machine...well put it in non-scripted sports term, it’s making a solid star/role player, who will make the Hall some day, into a mega all-time great, no doubt first ballot HOFer.
  16. Yup. Christian is the definition of a second/etc tier HOFer that you’d expect wouldn’t be in until many years into a retirement. Not a first ballot HOF caliber talent as advertised.
  17. I think Wade Barrett still blames him for the Nexus failing.
  18. That’s fair...ummm, well, to Flair But it’s something done consistently on that show, at least as of a year ago when I stopped listening! I.e. (before he debuted in AEW) a fan question: If asked, would you still participate in WWE Network produced docs, etc? Arn: Not interested. No followup on Conrad’s part, making Arn look like a badly hurt asshole. To be fair he probably is both when it comes to how things ended there and he is justified in refusing to work with anything affiliated with them, at least for a lot longer than it was to that point last year, but a followup could have hinted at what would be to come. Like “Well, you’ll find out soon” or “I can’t discuss it now obviously!”
  19. I wonder how much Ric being all buddy-buddy with Triple H helped cause the rift. Arn strikes me as one that generally keeps relations with his bosses strictly professional acquaintances, and Paul Leveque’s rise up the corporate ladder was well under way when Marty Lunde was first brought in as a road agent role. So, IDK, maybe Ric hanging in that social circle was a thing that started to rub Arn the wrong way, and it snowballed from there with Reid’s death, and the divorce from Beth, etc.
  20. I agree, but it’s one of the more annoying aspects of the show. Lack of a follow up question after Arn drops bomb shells. Certainly there are ways to answer a “when did it really start” question without going into the actual specifics.”
  21. I know around a year ago the question about where he and Flair stood today was brought up on Arn’s podcast. And Arn sidestepped the whole thing with a “different lives, different circles of friends” comment. Of course Conrad didn’t follow up with any sort of “Can you say when the drifting apart started?” But, whatever.
  22. So once the transfer to Peacock happens, will this thread be renamed, or should a new thread be created titled “WWE Network...It’s Over Here Now”
  23. FWIW, I was reminded of this. I was watching the fan made documentary that chronicled Ric Flair’s journey from leaving WCW, to winning the WWF title at the Royal Rumble. In the parts that discussed the lead up to the Survivor Series/This Tuesday In Texas Hogan-Taker title changes, Undertaker being undefeated is mentioned, and it was a thing often mentioned on television. Then he got beat, I forget if it was at a house show or a TV taping, and it was never brought up again. I think a lot it hinges on how the streak is treated following getting snapped. Granted technically after turning face Taker was shifted from the Main Event title scene to Main Event Attraction slot, but him no longer being undefeated wasn’t a factor after facing Hogan for the title in two PPVs.
  24. Can we still imagine the baseball awesomeness of a hybrid of Matsui and Ichiro?
  25. Is it wrong that the first thing I thought of was a hybrid of Japanese baseball and MLB icons Hideki Matsui and Ichiro Suzuki?
