  1. Adding to his resume as being a HOF second, never mind being a HOF promoter/booker!
  2. Well, that does mean they acknowledge Bret Hart and Randy Savage as the only two-time Kings of The Ring. Unstated, but now a kayfabed fact!
  3. Yup https://www.solie.org/titlehistories/ituwa.html Unless I’m looking at the wrong one, that belt actually came after the one you are thinking of, even though it got abandoned after. https://www.solie.org/titlehistories/inhtwwf.html
  4. I know he gave the “Horsemen Salute Of Approval” to the heels Tully and FTR, but I wonder if it’s on Arn not to be his iconic heel persona. Kind of like “I’ve retired “Arn Anderson, The Enforcer” the day I started to be an agent, and while I’m still called by my character name, I’ve been straight Marty Lunde since the start of the century!” Maybe that’s, and the cash, also is why he’s been on the convention circuit and the podcast. Can’t be Double A, The Enforcer of The Horsemen if every week you are busting the fourth wall next podcasts, and frequently doing nostalgia fueled panels on the wrestling convention circuits.
  5. I think he still had it right as he was putting the final nail in ECW’s coffin! And even in his WWF Commentating debut he even said “PAUL E. HEYMAN!”
  6. While “Rick Rude” and “Ric Flair” are just taking IRL last names and making it a adjective to describe characters, they do sound silly and stupid if you didn’t know better. Granted it doesn’t absolve stupid names given by bookers, but wrestling is filled with stupid names that manage to latch on.
  7. I really want him to have a heel run with the AEW belt, so they can make an eco-friendly version as well!
  8. To be fair, DSOTR isn’t the only place you can find info on Brian & Melanie Pillman. Books, including one written by a PWO member, have been written, I’d imagine podcast episodes have delved into things, etc. I know AEW is trying to project an image of their smart marks (intentional reference) soaking up every bit of information from whatever the latest IWC craze is, but I don’t think it’s fair of anyone to necessarily expect any percentage of the fanbase to be that dialed in on whatever happens to be the hottest docu-series, podcast, dirt sheet site, etc. Otherwise it’s falling into one of the traps that doomed Russo era WCW. Not everyone knows/cares about what they were work-shooting about when you have a massive mainstream platform. Doing it in ECW was one thing, they were small enough to get away with it, but it can alienate the percentage of the audience that has no bloody clue about what is being referenced!
  9. If BTE is “cannon” for AEW and Adam Cole was in a death like state for four years, are we going to go with the idea that Karl Anderson got replaced by a decoy and he didn’t survive that Boneyard Barn top being set ablaze by ‘Taker’s pyrotechnic trick symbol?
  10. Suddenly thinking of a JCP 1985 where the “Hard Times” promo is shouted at Ric from the rafters of an arena at a house show that later would be shown on TV.
  11. Then again I’m still waiting for Arn to do a “View Never Changes Spinebuster” on Cody but I guess Arn is content to be in a face role since he’s a non-competitor.
  12. Like I said, he could turn full on heel and join them Eric Bischoff style, or make cryptic “I’m watching you guys” statements as the overseer answering only to TK to make sure the inmates aren’t running over the joint. The guy’s The Boss and his main underlings switched “sides” if you will, brought in interlopers from his past, and he hasn’t acknowledged it at all?
  13. Fair enough. Just for the “work shoot” blend I suppose. Acknowledging that members of his era BC are running around, etc.
  14. Just noticed a quirky thing that I hope gets picked up on going forward. Page and Omega lost the tag belts to FTR literally a year to the day of this year’s All Out, and at the same titled event. Therefore, The Elite must lose the tag titles EVERY All Out/September PPV going forward BTW, having not really been watching the week-to-week content, but has Cody addressed the heel turns, and Bullet Club reunions made by his fellow heads of the company? I know currently he and his crew are tied up with Black, but seems weird that his Cappos turn heel, and he hasn’t done a damn thing about it (like turn full on heel and join them)!
  15. Already seeing pro-WWE trolls suggesting it’s no BFD that Soho, Cole and Danielson are now in AEW. No, in a different era, probably not. But with the company losing talent at an epic rate, some of it due to “budget cut herd thinning” and other issues with the product right now, you can’t say “no biggie” to the defections. I’m shocked the troll I’m referring to didn’t mention how in the big former WWE standout vs “original AEW/other promotions (so I’m putting Mox in the grouping, as well as Jericho vs MJF)” (ie never been in the F/E ever) guy matches, only Omega went over, and how “that’s probably not a good look when trying to make your brand superior” LOL, *eye roll*. Though I’d imagine they are out there in various social media platforms.
  16. Thinking about it now, since “Daniel Bryan” is essentially what Michael Shawn Hickenbottom did for a stage name, would it shock anyone that he was able to wrest control of his WWE branded character name, and so THAT’S who he is when he shows up?
  17. Its weird not rolling my eyes and desiring to scream “CALL HIM BY HIS STAGE NAME!” Though watch him say “Bryan Danielson is Brie Danielson’s husband and Birdie Joe’s and Buddy Dessert’s father. In AEW I’m only known as “American Dragon! Nothing else!” Therefore giving me license to keep being a “that guy” when it comes to nitpicky things like what randos on message boards/other platforms refer to wrestling “characters” as!
  18. I’m so hoping for a scenario where Page defeats Kenny at Full Gear. Bryan turns heel and challenges him. Defeats him on a Dynamite episode, and debuts an eco-friendly version of the AEW belt, like the WWE one from a few years ago.
  19. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, YOU DISGUSTING DRUNK C**T!? NEVER MIND DO YOU KNOW WHO THE F**K I AM! WE’RE STILL IN A PANDEMIC! YOU WANT ME TO TAKE A CHANCE AND INTAKE YOUR COVID INFESTED SALIVA WITHIN THE ALCOHOL IN THAT CUP!? F**K OFF!
  20. Good thing he’s a baby face right now! Can you imagine what a heel Punk might improvise up in that spot?
  21. Even if presented with someone who’s lack of drinking is very much part of both his character and IRL public persona? And it’d be worse if Punk was an admitted recovering alcoholic, as opposed to just plain Straight Edge. I mean sure someone is drunk and stupid, but sometimes knowledge of surroundings kick in by instinct, or someone less drunk tells them.
  22. The one time “the wrong leg” worked when it comes to that kind of leg lock hold was the finish in Montreal
  23. The “any WWE world championship of holder’s choosing” clause probably “overrides” such a stip.
  24. What’s lazier, and this is often with face interactions as well, is when the one getting hit acts like it was done on purpose. Does any one go back to the locker room, watch the replay, and realize what happened!?
  25. Yeah, I should have put quotes on that. It sucks that he had to apologize just for the sake of the Fast & Furious film. But the point that he isn’t as open to being labeled a massive hypocrite like LeBron James, for example, is as a defense…not the most solid of all defenses, but at the same time, is on brand for the idea of protecting a brand that is trying to be more of a global brand. Anyway, point of the post was more about using a comedic dance segment that furthered no storyline (even a show only one like Bayley’s 2021 WM segments) or had any sort of reason for being (ie getting jumped from behind setting up an impromptu match there, or the next night on Raw) as a “WrestleMania spotlight appearance” In the grand scheme of things, probably more of a “best never to speak of this again” moment!
