  1. Its weird to think the classic Nation of Domination, from late 1997 through 1998 are three away (Rock who is probably “on his owm time” with it, D-Lo and Owen) from being completely in on their own!
  2. I can see one, or more ECW alumni like Taz, Dreamer, RVD or even Heyman himself.
  3. Haven’t they been working an internet angle with The Revival going back to before Cody joined them?
  4. I recently heard a clip of a pair of Stern’s phone pranksters prank an interet radio wrestling talk show, during a WM 25 (I think) show. One of the pranksters started up like he was more in the mood to talk about past wrestling but ended up rattling off some random list of alphabetically organized wrestler names. The hosts knew what was going on, and put the guy on hold in the hopes that he was just goofing to start the call, but clearly the listing kept going when they went back to him. I have to wonder if the comedian knew the list he was rattling off had wrestlers from different eras, and that Dory Funk and Hoss Funk were the same guy as he said both names! Also, I kind of doubt Stern’s sincerity in having wrestling talk on his show as after the clip ended he was incredulous as to the existence of a show all about pro wrestling! But then again, the concept of a podcast perplexes him!
  5. Which would be funny because that is how the chicken-shit “Honky Tonk Bryan” heel act got over. The initial “YES” antics.
  6. Instead of a kiss, its a good luck “Yes” jump and finger point from Brie.
  7. Recreating Bischoff’s character’s relationship with Vince! LOL
  8. Well, they want to pay him for more than just showing up whenever Brock appears! Hope this is finally the year they put him in the Hall.
  9. Well, I was really just talking about the final match of the night Maybe if it ran more like watching a boxing/MMA card, or hell like classic USA Network, a long day’s journey into night at a tennis tournament’s coverage!
  10. To be honest, unless it was for a promo or like segment (contract signing, ceremony, etc), overrun gave the broadcast a nice non-scripted sport feel to the show. You didn’t know how long the match you were watching will be.
  11. To be fair, its a thing in non-scripted sports, other avenues and forms of scripted entertainment, and even more important things like politics and high profile corporate industries. Its usually doesn’t get treated with the vitriol you have for it unless its clear the newbie relative is one of those “born on third base, but acts like they’ve hit a triple” types. To use the non-scripted sports examples, its always turned into a thing by the team’s PR staff and local media (to certain extent anyway) where a relative joins an orgainzation that his or her parent (even grandparent), sibling, niece/uncle, or cousin (no matter how remote) played for in the past. You might find it disturbing, but its hardly isolated to the over the top hyperbole world of pro-wrestling.
  12. Different circumstances when a feud partner turns as opposed to “oh we’re cheering/booing you now?” but after how badly Face Miz crashed and burned a few years back (remember him having the Figure Four “given” to him by Flair), I don’t think the actual character Miz can ever be taken seriously as a face.
  13. I mean the last time they had an in kayfabe thing of “greater importance than meer titles”, Shane interupted that with his grand return!
  14. Well the whole World Cup was a trollable concept anyway, so...what the fuck! *throws up hands and sighs*
  15. Plus if Braun did win, it becomes Undertaker at OTE for least regarded title change of a popular character due to the controversy surrounding the event.
  16. To be fair, it sets up Braun chasing through WrestleMania. Maybe they sneak a Drew reign in there to shake it up.
  17. I like the reasoning that it was Roman who always held Ambrose in check, and it does track with seeds of an Ambrose-Rollins feud that was bubbling before Ambrose’s injury in the winter. Weren’t they even penciled in as a match at WM?
  18. EXACTLY! As bad as it sounds, Reigns determination about fighting it and returning doesn’t equate a “I’m quitting the businesses” or worse. Plus it was to Rollins, whom his character has a ton more distrust issues than he ever did with Reigns. They could have held it off until the build towards Survivor Series, but this was the best time to pull the trigger on something that had been brewing since Ambrose returned.
  19. FWIW, I recently watched Edge's "I HATE YOU!" promo segment on Cena (Cutting Edge segment one Raw after a big Cena title win) and I couldn't help but notice how it was almost like a different spin on the reasoning behind the Raven-Dreamer "fight forever" sort of rivalry. Only sans fighting over the same girl and bad emo poetry. Edge, despite all he's accomplished to that point (he has some reigns at that point) was still that goth looking teen lashing out at the jocks who bullied him in school (or any social settings as I think it was at a summer camp that ignited Raven's hatred of Tommy Dreamer) years ago. And I think that's kind of how "I fought for all I have accomplished, despite certain people not wanting me to get this far" got added to the Rated R Superstar/Ultimate Opportunist character, especially if you want to see the Cena character, especially back in 2006-2010, as the ultimate jock that "got everything handed to him" and acts like he just hit a triple, despite being born on third base.
  20. Sounds like the Kayfabe News gag about major PPV main events getting called off, due to the match participants coming to amicable agreements!
  21. The result of a special guest referee match thrown out because the guest ref didn’t get his or her paperwork in on time, or was refused the “one time” license and didn’t tell the promotion before the match. It would set up an angle between the winner of the “thrown out results” match and the ref.
  22. Another ladder twist, multi-person match starts with everyone going quickly out of the ring, someone thinks quick, sneaks back in with ladder and zooms up to win in record fashion (maybe less than a minute, or just over a minute).
  23. Tag title ladder match: Guy gets one of the straps off, and gets knocked off the ladder before he can get the other belt unhooked. Then one of the opponents manages to get the other one off. Its like Team Hell No’s “NO I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPION” bit but more of a “realistic” WTF do we do now scenario.
