  1. I was going to try to post something in this thread, but the last two posts pretty much summed up anything I would want to say.
  2. You must have put him fairly high. Just wait until you see what order I've put...him and the people around him in. I hate myself so much right now.
  3. I think Loss' point about Nash vis a vis Andre and how he (Nash) had so little presence that he came off as much smaller than he was is the closest thing I've seen that explains why Nash is so underwhelming in the ring. I like Shawn/Diesel a lot but I don't think it touches Piper/Valentine. Or Dusty/Flair. Or Hogan/at least seventeen different guys, really.
  4. Yeah, I mean I voted for him and I've spent most of my time shitting on him because of his work in 2016. I like him a lot generally speaking.
  5. I don't know if I'd call Jericho a smart worker. But he was a thinking worker. A constantly thinking, creative worker. The execution stuff is the absolute last thing I am going to care about. Never noticed it, never cared about it. Wrestling is symbolic, etc, etc. So I guess it says something that he's so bad at it now that it actually DOES bother me. But it took until 2016 for me to even notice.
  6. Yeah I think the idea was more that his brain had deteriorated as much as an Alzheimers patient, but not necessarily in the same way.
  7. I've considered this as well. It is the thing that will end up annoying me about Hogan's final place on the list. Since it will effect how Cena's place on the list is viewed. It never even occurred to me that Hogan could finish above Cena on this list, but it's starting to look alarmingly possible. I fully think Hogan could appear on more ballots than Cena, at least.
  8. For me it's a murderer's row of guys I don't really give a shit about. I said this on the podcast at one point, but in my exploration of other styles I left so many 80s and 90s American wrestlers behind.
  9. He's not even the best wrestler named Dynamite.
  10. That was mainly me, Matt knew what he was trying to say, but I'm inarticulate AND ignorant about what Lucha moves are actually called. Wouldn't know a quebradora from a quiche.
  11. I will say, he's already coming off better by leaning into the hate and doing the Tweener Diesel thing, rather than them trying to ignore it completely. Acting like he was the biggest babyface on earth came off as tonedeaf and delusional.
  12. They've already had a good PPV match.
  13. Watch that match with AJ I posted a page or so ago and you will see why he gets so much hate. Its beyond excess into parody. The Jeff Hardy match at No Surrender 2010 is worse. That moves beyond parody into...a match consisting entirely of finishers. I had to count them just to make sure I wasn't dreaming and there are like at least 17 finishers in the match.
  14. I ranked him, and I see him more as a guy who was an ultimately flawed wrestler who showed far too many flashes of greatness.
  15. This is one thing I keep forgetting to mention. You keep shitting on Taker for all the crap but he did make your Top 105 or whatever because BIGLAV didn't factor in negatives. Well I'm the same, the JIMBOB system doesn't really factor in negatives either. I focused on positives - their best work, peaks, positive attributes, lists of great matches, etc. - and didn't worry so much about anyone's negatives or bad periods. If I did, assholes like Hunter and Angle would have fucked right off. I'm not saying Taker would have fucked off my list if I did, in fact I'm almost certain he'd have been on my list anyway, mainly because you and I just disagree markedly on how much bad stuff there is and how bad it really was (not to mention how good the good stuff is). But I'm just saying that when you say things like "he had some good stuff but simply mountains of crap, how can you rank him?" I'm saying I didn't think in that framework at all when making my list. I focused on the good stuff.
  16. Cena. Brock.
  17. There's something poetic about Cesaro beating Sami one more time.
  18. The Parejas Increibles 90 minute sprints are your friend! Also just finished this episode and it was another super fun listen. I popped hard for the finish. It's funny that you call Austin a GMT candidate for you Dylan, because he's almost the opposite for me.
  19. I don't half mind my "Sheamus as Misawa" theory.
  20. I remember there being a HUGE discussion early in the project about Invader I, with some people rejecting vociferously the idea of ranking him or giving his work credit, because of Brody.
  21. I think his indy work blows Cesaro's indy work completely out of the water. Like, it's not even remotely close. Sami is one of the very best babyfaces of this generation, and he's been so for almost a decade now. I get the recency bias in that he's in NXT and high profile now, but you can say the same thing about Joe frankly. There were people actually saying that they'd left Joe aside as a candidate until his recent NXT work reminded them of him. I didn't put him above Joe, but if he finishes above Joe I wouldn't be outraged or surprised. Joe had a LOT of dead years in TNA, and while they're both indy/NXT guys they aren't all that similar as workers to the point where putting one over the other is outrageous.
  22. In a completely different direction, I always loved the Great Khali throwing the Chop of Doom at people's heads. Totally, irrationally loved it. Every single time. If he came out on Raw today and started Chop o' Dooming folk I'd be so happy. ...yes, that is my contribution to this thread.
  23. Which illustrious wrestler gets compared to Trish Stratus? (Possibly not even by me!) Who should have their own TV show set in space? Just how badly can we butcher the Spanish language? All important questions that will be answered.
  24. I'm not offended. But I super can't wait to talk about Undertaker on the show now.
  25. You do and I think if you do get into those kinds of matches it would be for the brutality of them. But I also think that what they do in between punches is the kind of shootstyle matwork and jockeying that you've found boring in the past. I could be wrong though. Also Destroyer is my first man down, but I'm happy about him making the 100 in any form. If anyone hasn't yet seen that Baba match, do so immediately.
