  1. Whats the best way to introduce someone to american wrestling? Want to get a friend into it as I always talk about how good it is but thinking whatever the best moment would be. Would it pretty much be the Beer Truck from 99? I know people have their fav shows and all but all round best show? Im tending not to do a PPV but just a episode of the weekly TV where the best angles happen. Want a good combination of the action in the ring and the angles. Only show off the top of my head would be may 10 1999 the highest rated raw where Vince/Austin/Rock vs Shane/Taker/HHH
  2. According to reports they have tried to spike their subscription numbers quite a lot offering similar deals. I never get why people unsubscribe I then sure if you hate modern day WWE they always have a ton of classic footage worth watching.
  3. In the latest from wrestling insider Nigel Sherrod, two WWE Hall of Fame members, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Road Warrior Animal, discuss The Fabulous Moolah and the recent allegations against her. Over twenty women who were trained, worked for or with Moolah have denounced that includes; Judy Martin, Leilani Kai, Kandi Malloy, Sandy Parker, and Susan “Tex” Green. Recent internet allegations of Moolah pimping & drugging women: “It’s sad to me to see her legacy or her reputation be defamed or destroyed, actually, like it’s been doing now through social media… All this stuff I hear about now, never heard or saw anything like that when I was in the business around Moolah and her girls.” Moolah’s business practices: “She was a very good businesswoman and I think everyone enjoyed doing business with her… It was like she was an agent for all the girl wrestlers in the fact that it got them booked and it all happened through Moolah and so she performed a good service for the girls in that respect. She always took her percentage, but, hey, that’s the way business is, that’s the way the wrestling promoters do.” Regarding how the wrestling business worked in the time period: “I knew at the time when I worked for Nick Gulas, I didn’t have to go out and get myself booked. I was working for Nick Gulas and he would get me booked. That’s the same thing Moolah did except instead of working one territory, Moolah worked the entire United States for the girls.” Also speaking with Nigel Sherrod, multiple time Tag Team champion, Road Warrior Animal was concise with his comments regarding Moolah and internet allegations: “Moolah was AWESOME. She was a very kind woman, no truth to internet rumors.”
  4. I say skip ahead and watch the month of Jericho and Benoit vs. Austin. Ive decided to grudgingly go through it, not too impressed whats been going on Austin/Hunter getting the upper hand on every single TV taping and still go over on the PPV.
  5. I'm not sure he would because that would have meant three babyfaces champions at the same time, which is something I noticed the WWF didn't really do back then. I always just figured it was Perfect getting his win back from WrestleMania, plus what would Beefcake have done as champion? Defended it against Dino Bravo? Done the same angle Tornado did, with Perfect winning it back and reverted to the DiBiase feud? I would have guessed at Perfect keeping it for the Boss Man feud, but since that was supposed to be Boss Man vs. Rude, it kinda leaves Perfect without a direction as champion either, unless he was supposed to go with Tornado later on and they just bumped it up because of the Beefcake injury. Look at Summerslam 1990 I mean Warrior, Tornado & Harts were champs when the night ended all faces. Was Kerry only brought in because they needed a replacement? I know he beat Perfect at Mania so its not crazy to think he would have won the rematch too, I don't see Perfect retaining as WWE want to make it exciting unless it still happens the same way ie Dibiase screws Beefcake out of the title leading to Beefcake vs Dibiase somewhere. But back then Beefer didnt really lose that many matches on TV if any.
  6. He should especially for moments like this.
  7. If there is then that word and Stephanie McMahon would never be in the same paragraph!
  8. If Beefcake haden't gotten injured Im guessing he takes the IC belt at Summerslam.
  9. Did they even do the MITB qualifying matches on Raw in 99 as that kinda annoyed me how Heat wasent available in the UK and we see odd clips of people qualifying. I suppose you mean KOTR? According to "The History of WWE" all 8 qualifying matches happened on Sunday Night Heat indeed (on May, 30th and on June, 6th). Yeah. Strange Heat got all qualifying matches. Have half of em on Raw at least.
  10. The crowd would lose their shit if Cult of Personality played.
  11. Gotta have a lot of love for LSD. He was great in ECW and WWE.
  12. Id say no to TNA because the early matches they had some good stuff. Worst promotion for me is ROH. Just could never get into that promotion.
  13. I remember when he got his ass kicked by sid for his manager Wippleman blowing smoke in McGuirk's face.
  14. Something I found a bit odd. Watching the simucast Raw was perfect but when the Nitro version came up the beginning with Vince quality looked bad. I know quality of WCW tapes about not storing them properly but Vince owned WCW by this time as it was the final show so logically the quality should have been the same as Raw.

  16. So im slowly plowing through WWF in 2001 watching the weekly TV and PPV but now ive hit a roadblock because the last show I saw was Mania. At the time I hated the Austin heel turn and still do now as im sure alot of others just wished McMahon had gotten stunnered at Mania. So do I bite my tongue and force myself to continue watching or do I just say screw it and go for a different year?
  17. Yes because no one wanted to see it happen.
  18. 5. Marty Jannetty (HBK/Jannetty Raw May 93) 4. Martel 3. Matt Borne 2. Tatanka 1. Hogan
  19. That shoot when Steele told a story about how Randy went mad when he told him he never bumps.
  20. My fav one has to be in June 99 when Austin stunned like 15 guys in that one show.
  21. Didn't Mark Henry also have heat with Michael Hayes over a similar issue?
  22. Along those lines is Owen.. He's probably overrated for his 80s workrate-y stuff and underrated for his 90s character-driven heel stuff. Im more the opposite as I like his 80s stuff more than the 90s stuff. Perfect/Blazer at Mania I really love. Well, yes, that's the conventional wisdom. Watching him as the Blazer he seemed quicker as a high flyer but when Owen came back after High Energy/New Foundation he was more a mat wrestler as you can tell he slowed his ring style down. I heard rumours about him never wanting to be a wrestler about he was forced to by Stu cos all the other boys were and that he was planning to retire after a few years. I don't see him coming out of retirement and really when he split from the Nation and formed a team with Jeff I think he would have stayed midcard for life. WWE had alot of top guys in the main event scene even in 2002 - 2003 time so can't really see Owen holding the belt.
  23. Why did he go to WWE in the first place? If there were problems maybe he would have been better doing the indies for a couple years.
  24. Booker T was on Heated Conversation Sports Radio 610 yesterday with Brad Gilmore addressing the rumors of Hulk Hogan returning to WWE. Booker is asked if Hulk Hogan should be able to come back to the WWE after Hogan’s inflammatory comment. Booker talks about how a lot of the youth today use the N word as common place and how it’s become popular. Booker says “until we can stop saying the word ourselves, we shouldn’t have a problem with anyone else using that term”. Booker says “the only thing Hogan can do is apologize, atone for it and move forward. Everyone deserves a second chance”. Booker credits Hogan for the push that Harlem Heat received in WCW. Booker says that he wants Hogan to take his rightful place back in this business. Booker suggests that he and Hogan could go on the road and speak to youth concerning the damage that this topic can cause to your life/career.
  25. Am looking forward to Heat on today. If they do a batch of them logically it'll be 1998 - 1999 which was really the best years when they did angles before Smackdown started.
