  1. Really happy the lead-up to the Souled Out match is showed in full on this set. More good stuff from both and Ric is really on his game.
  2. I agree with Chad's rating - while I'm not a big Credible guy (if that even exists), I liked the story here and for a contrast in styles, it was fairly entertaining. Plus a very definitive finish and post match angle to put Credible over strong.
  3. Loved this - there is nary a second where you'd think of changing the channel (or in this case skipping forward). Great promo to start their feud.
  4. High: this cage match between AJ Styles and Abyss from 2005 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1QCgwpIqKc Low: the Jeff Hardy mess with Sting. Other highs: their DVD sales were always great and they have a lot of free content on Youtube - and have done so for years.
  5. My favorite from the tnamecca thread was the thought that this just meant they had a big announcement about their new TV home.
  6. Try downloading from the bottom of the main talkshoe site also. Maybe they were temporarily down. I did have to originally subscribe to iTunes for the show through this same link (there's an iTunes rss.xml button). Maybe that will work: http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/112658
  7. First comment I got when I posted was "No Johnny Sorrow?" It's best we don't tell Johnny so it doesn't go to his head.
  8. Dave Musgrave makes his PTBN debut! With NJPW's G-1 Climax started, Dave takes a look at one of the biggest names in Japan, Tomohiro Ishii: http://placetobenation.com/the-rise-of-tomohiro-ishii/
  9. Will is joined by his Wrestling With the Past co-host Charles, Dylan from the Wrestling Culture podcast and Kris Zellner for PTBN's Battleground 2014 Reaction show. Is this the worst PPV or Special Event of the year? Listen to find out! http://placetobenation.com/place-to-be-network-battleground-2014-reaction/
  10. And also on PTBN: In the newest episode of the Wrestling Culture podcast, Dylan and Dave discuss who other than Bob Backlund could have been WWWF champ in 1978: http://placetobenation.com/wrestling-culture-podcast-56-bob-backlund-and-the-wwwf-in-1978/
  11. On this week’s Pro-Wrestling Super Show on Place to be Nation, Steven Graham is joined by Will (Special Event Recaps, Wrestling with the Past, Good Will Wrestling) and Parv (Where the Big Boys Play & Titans of Wrestling) for part 1 of this two-part snapshot on Ted DiBiase. There are some tangents, but they are relevant to the topic at hand, Ted DiBiase. A very fun episode and long awaited by Parv fans. Here are the three matches that were watched for this episode: 1. vs. Pat Patterson (6/19/79), WWWF 2. vs. Mr. R (2/11/84), GCW 3. vs. Jim Duggan, Cage, Tuxedo, Coal Minors Glove, No DQ, Loser Leaves Town (3/30/85), Mid-South http://placetobenation.com/pro-wrestling-super-show-the-wrestler-snapshot-7-on-ted-dibiase-part-1-july-15-2014/

    Current WWE

Evan Bourne's crowning PPV moment on that show too. Sheamus winning in a multi-man match led to Orton winning in a 6-pack challenge months later (which at least was elimination). Still, two crappy ways to win a title.
  13. I'm pretty sure they are still off by one day on all their program labels.
  14. Soundcloud has an app you can download and you can subscribe to their feeds Steve (similar to iTunes I guess).
  15. I've been remiss in updating this. Lots of big guests from Steve - C.W. Anderson, Matt Hardy, Guillotine LaGrande, Scotty Riggs and more: http://placetobenation.com/stevecorino/
  16. Given it is Bret's birthday - a little retro bump for those new to PWO that may have not listened to this.
  17. Steven - if you record in stereo, you can split the tracks and adjust yourself, and then merge them back into a mono field for the final product. I've found that works when I do my own quasi-editing after recording a show.
  18. Side note: Phil Schneider makes his PTBN debut! Cool stuff there.
  19. Plenty of varied opinions on this one! http://placetobenation.com/place-to-be-network-money-in-the-bank-2014-reaction
  20. Thoughts on the briefcase match: The Kane thing sucks because it's 2014 and it's DEMON KANE but his involvement shouldn't surprise anyone (I agree that it's a shame someone else isn't getting the rub here). TV has been built around him and his work with the Authority leading to the big ladder matches. I agree with Johnny - the crowd was deflated because Ambrose didn't win but it doesn't make sense to be aghast that Kane had something to do with it. It does make perfect sense to be aghast that Kane is involved like this in 2014. But I like the story that match told and was fine with the finish. At least Ambrose took both a chokeslam and a tombstone. Now the title match: Cena winning isn't a surprise but man was his booking in this match poor. Sheamus and Reigns were booked stronger although poor Roman had to job out to a Kane chokeslam. Both Orton and Kane took one FU and that was that. Cena really should use this as a teachable moment and help these guys figure out how to unhook the belt hanger. How hard would it have been for someone to challenge Cena on his climb at the end and have Cena kick them off before struggling to get the belt? Cena raced up and snagged the belts like it was no big thing. Horrible ending.
  21. Dylan - I also thought the Bullet Club / Briscoes match at WotW was fantastic. Figured I was the absolutely minority there so was refreshing to hear your take.
  22. Pumped to listen to this one. Here's the PTBN link as well: http://placetobenation.com/wrestling-culture-podcast-55-2014-half-year-in-review/
  23. Grande's stories are a must for the Titans crew. I'm trying to get Parv to listen (Pete is a good company man and said he would).
  24. Join Will, Kris Zellner, Scott Criscuolo, Dylan Hales and Johnny Sorrow as they break down WWE Payback 2014. http://placetobenation.com/place-to-be-network-payback-2014-reaction/
