  1. On this week's episode of The Steve Corino Show @SteveCorinoShow, it's a Mother's day special for the King of Old School as he talks with his wife, mother and mother-in-law. Steve also shares the story of Mr. Wrestling III and takes your twitter questions! http://placetobenation.com/the-steve-corino-show-episode-3-mothers-day-special/
  2. There's actually a stub hub pick-up office in that hotel. I was there prior to a preseason football game last year.
  3. I agree about the impact of a 2.9999 nearfall. I'll give you a recent (and surprising) example: Batista kicking out of the RKO at WrestleMania was fantastic. You were conditioned to know it wasn't the end so even at 2.5 you were waiting but he was soooo close to 3. Best thing he's done in his return.
  4. Are you streaming it or did you download it to a device brainfollower? I haven't had an issue listening to it.
  5. Cheapshot did a great job individually linking the PTBN shows. Here's a couple main site links to navigate as well: http://placetobenation.com/podcasts - main page with links to each individual show's page or category feed. http://placetobenation.com/category/podcasts/ - feed for the latest chronologically on the site
  6. Awesome news that in a short amount of time the PWO twitter has surpassed 500 followers. I always appreciate you letting me tag the PWO handle (and your RTs are great) when talking about Will, even though I'm fairly certain he's never stepped in the Twitter arena.
  7. Johnny with the exclamation belch to sign off the show had me laughing too. I really enjoyed his "While we're all wishing for things, I wish Johnny Valient would show up on Raw..." and then went into that whole thing. Very good dialogue all-around from the group.
  8. Here's a POV video of Rollin's jump last night. Crazy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKvzFBztzjM edit: Sorry Loss, I failed at the embed code there.
  9. I wonder too if this has allowed them to be a little different with the Cena/Wyatt story. They're not out to get $54.95 buys so perhaps they're a bit more leniant and experiment more.
  10. Will is joined by Kris Zellner, Pete S. and Johnny Sorrow to discuss Extreme Rules 2014. Check out their thoughts on the Cena/Wyatt cage match, Daniel Bryan in the main event, Evolution vs. the Shield and more! http://placetobenation.com/place-to-be-network-extreme-rules-2014-reaction/
  11. This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

See I don't get this because Flair was never with them in the first place. He put them over verbally but why, on the last raw before the ppv, would they allow him to be in their corner at a PPV and implicitly trust him? That would have been horrible storytelling and way out of character for the Shield.

I really enjoy Main Event - and if you miss Raw, they still splice in the storyline updates for the biggest stories in the company. I liked Bray and Sheamus a good bit although I loathe that type of distraction ending where guys getting on the apron result in Sheamus stopping what he was doing and attacking them to set up the finish. It's like being distracted by entrance music being played. The match deserved better.
  14. In this episode of The Steve Corino Show (@SteveCorinoShow), Steve talks about his recent European weekend tour including stories about cranky Vader and teaming with Terry Funk. Steve is then joined by his pal Rob Dimension to talk about Rob's previous work in the wrestling industry and his film-making career. To close, Steve answers all of your Twitter questions. http://placetobenation.com/the-steve-corino-show-episode-2-rob-dimension/
  15. Figured I'd consolidate these to one thread: The Steve Corino Show has arrived at Place to Be Nation! In this inaugural episode, the King of Old School introduces his vision for his weekly show, talks baseball, chats with Cliff Compton and answers your Twitter questions: http://placetobenati...-cliff-compton/
  16. In the latest episode of PTBN's Main Event, Scott is joined by Jordan, Steve, Ben and Will to talk EXTREME RULES. Check out their preview plus more from the world of wrestling: http://placetobenation.com/ptbns-main-event-episode-eight-extreme-rules-preview/
  17. On Episode 8 of the Kevin Kelly Show, Kevin sits down with ROH's own, Brutal Bob Evans, to talk about his career in and out of the ring. Kevin also discusses a few of his favorite things on the show, including his favorite year in wrestling, his favorite manager, favorite quarterback and favorite call by Michael Cole! Finally, Kevin answers another round of your Twitter questions and two future guests for the show are revealed. The Kevin Kelly Show is available on iTunes and Stitcher by searching for Place to Be Podcast and can be downloaded and listened to below. http://placetobenation.com/the-kevin-kelly-show-episode-8-featuring-brutal-bob-evans/
  18. That would be great, and something I've been saying they should do. But, isn't this the same company that doesn't even offer DVDs of any of their stuff that happened before like 2009? They have VOD for ringside members. I don't know how often they swap out the old shows (goes all the way back to 2002). http://www.rohwrestling.com/vod They don't offer the individual shows pre 2009 (I don't know if this is a supply or space thing that they'll only go back 5 years) on DVD although they regularly put out comprehensive comps that use that footage.
  19. Is this going to be on Voices of Wrestling? I only ask as I can access them during the day and listen off the power press player they use (we use the same).
  20. I'll give TNA this: at least they're willing to change up the regular triple threat formula and go with elimination rules. The WWE is way too stuck in the same triple threat tropes like stealing pins off another guy's finisher and one guy always laying outside the ring so it's 1-on-1. Elimination rule always make it seem more sporting and we don't have to hear the "champ can lose his belt without being pinned" story (although I swear Tazz explains how elimination rules work multiple times here for some reason). Roode and Aries team up by design and work a good beating on Hardy for the first half of the match. Hardy gets a handful of hope spots - the spinning kick off the top rope with Aries on Roode's shoulders, and the duck outside where Roode eats an Aries dive into the fence. Crowd gets tired of this segment but it's solid imo (just a bit long) - until Hardy just will not die and kicks out of Aries finish. Roode has had enough and dumps Hardy and attacks Aries after a missed top rope move (which Roode caused). I'm guessing his logic is that Aries is slightly nicked up and that Hardy is easy pickings for himself later. Maybe that's #johnnylogic (well it is #bradlogic) that fits - although still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. They let Roode and Aries go for a bit, which is good given how much damage Hardy got to take. The Roode elimination is very well done with Hardy coming in to help with a leverage pin. I thought that was very good. From there Hardy is fired up and runs through his power moves to finish off Aries and retain. I didn't mind this at all - good overcoming the odds story and worked fine.
  21. Outside of the finish, I liked this a good bit. The Young Bucks negate their size disadvantage by pearl haboring the faces with belt shots before the bell, making the 50/50 action before the bell (through the crowd, etc) very believable. Everything they do with Steen is realistic to the size difference. Generico is an excellent seller and the Bucks work a solid heat segment while managing to piss the smark crowd off by aping other wrestler's taunts and doing flippy moves into a back rake (I thought that was great). To really put it over the top for me, the Young Bucks do everything they can to cut off Steen and Generico's high spots - grabbing their opponents legs, etc. Of course when they finally DO get the high spots (Generico's somersault and top rope brainbuster), it really pops the crowd (and viewer). The 500 kicks to Generico's head were ridiculous. I bit on the nearfalls there, mainly because I haven't seen a lot of their work, - especially after the Bang for your Buck sequence. So came out of that like "meh" and then the ending is overbooked with the ref stuff but certainly could be part of a larger storyline I'm missing (plus the ref did get payback - and then a legit good nearfall where the Bucks kick out). Of course taking a package piledriver and immediately rolling up Generico for the three count is absurd. The bigger story is the significance of the match with Generico going to WWE. I like that the whole post match was included.
  22. I think I may have a tag line for the PWSS at PTBN now. Nice Justin!
  23. I sought out the Hardcore Heaven match today and it was one of my favorite hardcore matches I've seen in recent years and definitely my favorite of his in ECW. Nothing contrived or overly transparent. Believable violence (heck Corino separated his shoulder and broke his nose in the match) and one helluva blade job.
  24. I asked Steve to share this story on a future Steve Corino Show. That is awesome.
