  1. I don't think he will (nor should) wrestle at all. What feud or match-up is there for him that would interest the crowd, especially given his limitations? Release the DVD, put him in the Hall of Fame and if necessary, bring him out to a live crowd when they're in the South (and hype it in advance). After that, WWE Network pieces like roundtables are a good fit.
  2. Hey JazeUSA - Were you able to subscribe and find this under The Place to Be Podcast in iTunes? The PTBN Wrestling Network (which uses the PTBN logo like in Bigelow's avatar) is a different subscription which houses Titans, Where the Big Boys Play, Good Will Wrestling, Wrestling with the Past, etc.
  3. One of the more subtle things I enjoyed here on commentary was Ryback and Curtis Axel putting over the Usos as the top team in the tag ranks. Simple, but often overlooked. Ryback on commentary - sharing stories about how his dad was Curt Hennig's bartender in Vegas - was great (as always). Both guys clear out the Usos post-match and look strong. The other story is Cody pushing Goldust after they lost. They delayed the break-up by a couple months at least but looks like Cody will be back heel soon.
  4. These guys got 10 minutes and it produced a "This is awesome" chant from the Baltimore crowd. What a confidence builder for Barrett. Both guys are great and Sheamus continually delivers in the ring - no matter the stakes or show. Barrett, outside the ring, hits an opportunistic bull hammer through the ropes on a charging Sheamus and gets the clean win to advance in the IC tournament. He's in the driver's seat to be the next IC champ with RVD on tap as a nice showcase for him before facing Big E at the PPV/special event.
  5. Or the fact that Bret was literally in the hold for 9 minutes before the towel was finally thrown in.
  6. And when you toss in that a potential match could be at "Extreme Rules" - we could be looking at something like a Last Man Standing match, which plays into your story Loss.
  7. Funkdoc's take also plays back into the whole Harley Race MSG match debate where the home crowd goes nuts as their hero just dominates the other team's best player. Not a good wrestlig match, but from a "sports" story standpoint (I made this point earlier in the thread) it made sense.
  8. So the video package they showed makes it seem like they're going back to 2003 Kane - although in actuality it may be more like 2012 (vs. Cena) Kane when everything washes out. But at least they made him out to be very evil (the Jim Ross fire stuff). I don't actually dislike that Stephanie McMahon was the one who he gave the mask to originally to become their corporate partner and now she's turning him loose for her own bidding, knowing there's a chance it could well backfire. At least that's my logic. Daniel Bryan pinning Kane clean multiple times in the lead-up to WrestleMania doesn't help things for me but I get what they're going for.
  9. It came across to me like he was distant from all of his sons. Skipping out on his wedding because he had a last minute "appearance" was really dead-beat.
  10. I pulled a couple recent Kal apperances and shared with the guys. Kal shows up at the 9 minute mark here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr7vTykCRA0&list=UUMWMM2jWfCwXYDIVVRuS8yQ&feature=c4-overview
  11. I think the kick-out of the Rude Awakening was even worse. Way to kill any last intrigue of the cage match with that.
  12. The crowd is interesting - almost like a hijacked RAW crowd which mocks the moves and wrestlers but yet they still pop for the high spots and cheer when the Warrior wins (although he didn't get a great introduction reaction). Now maybe the sound is changed a bit - I'm watching the version on the WWE Network as part of the "Warrior's Greatest Matches" program.
  13. Then they re-aped the CM Punk angle with AJ Styles and the contract issue story.
  14. I get what this was but not my thing at all. Chops are sold as more debilitating than chair shots to the head. The DVD off the stage onto the chairs would have been a good finish, versus being no-sold and done three minutes into the match.
  15. Good opportunity to elevate the Usos here. They took a shit-kicking, including the Batista Bomb on the steel steps but this could (and should) lead to a rematch down the road where the Usos get a big win. The crowd was more interested in chanting at Orton, which is a shame as the Usos were also a victim of this back at that RAW in Chicago.
  16. Wasn't it essentially Hell's Gate - just dangling from Rowan versus being on the mat? The flaw being (imo) that Rowan could have just used his left arm and pushed Rollins' leg out from his neck. On the ground, Rollins would have the leverage of the mat to prevent that.
  17. And to echo the Triple H sentiment, this is a guy who hadn't wrestled since last May. I think it's important that the work within is highlighted here (as others have already done above me) because it is so easy to just gloss over the body of the match because the end result was what everyone wanted but feared wouldn't happen : "Triple H did the right thing". He was pinned clean as a sheet. He didn't kick out of a finisher first or anything like that either - which helped the main event when Orton did kick out (techincally of Batista's covering after Bryan's finisher). Should these two wrestle again, I'm hard-pressed to see how they could top this.

  19. I mean, even Will can't get Charles to be on a podcast so Steven really flexed some negotiating skills his first time out
  20. Edge is a good one. Granted we didn't know about his imminent retirement but considering Del Rio's push, his Rumble win AND going on first - I thought the stars were absolutely aligned as well.
  21. With the Shield traditional babyfaces now, they work in two really good peril sequences with Ambrose absolutely being a star during his extended one. He was just awesome. There are so many unique exchanges and counters from both teams. The way the Wyatts carry themselves almost makes them immune to looking bad by taking a clean loss. Bray and Harper's facials were great. This built to their (as in the six of them) standard chaotic ending with the Shield finally getting a win. Great booking, everyone looked like a star. I went **** here. Couldn't argue with higher either.
  22. WarGames makes so much sense but I just can't see them setting it up logistically. I mean, I'm sure they could, I mean them actually going forward with two rings for a full show. I thought this segment was very well done - again HHH is not afraid to show ass, he takes a spear from Reigns and is punked out again by Bryan's flying knee.
  23. I thought this was really well put together and should absolutely be a bonus feature on the WrestleMania XXX Blu-ray release. I can't get over the turnaround on it also. One part that made me chuckle early on was Seth Rollins talking to Bryan and Bryan matter of factly states he's wrestling two matches later that week. They were much more in kayfabe later in the show when they got to the event. Highly recommend watching this.
  24. Oh excellent. We watched at a pretty loud bar and I've only re-watched the second half of the show (twice actually) so far.
  25. Quick #johnnylogic note for the order of the matches. Triple H is the COO and is convinced he's going to beat Bryan and then win the title - why would he book himself in back-to-back matches? Hence, DBryan/HHH in the opener.
