  1. Pioneer released a DVD version of Terry Funk's WrestleFest as well. While it's hardly a rare and unreleased gem, the Funk-Hart match is really good so I'm happy to see it on the Network for a larger audience.
  2. idk...if Roy Lucier thinks they have it then they've got it imo
  3. there was this article on wwe.com
  4. And I almost wish that wasn't even listed on there, since the rest of the stuff is worth getting excited about regardless.
  5. I really hope it's not just JBL talking about the match over a bunch of stills.

  7. Random thought, wouldn't it have made more sense for John Tenta to be booked in the Yokozuna roll? They could have played up his actual history with Sumo and presented him as an anti-USA turncoat ala Jerry Blackwell or Sgt. Slaughter. I'd keep Yoko with the Headshrinkers and eventually when they turn face we have a big money feud with Tenta and blow it off with the Sumo match. Actually all of that sounds terrible too. I liked Fuji in the 70's is what I'm saying.
  8. So, to recap why this will probably be awesome for those still on the fence: - only 10 episodes - Alison Brie as Ruth, an out-of-work actress who finds one last chance to live out her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers - Marc Maron will play Sam Sylvia, a washed-up Hollywood director who has a very complicated history with women — and now must lead 14 of them on the journey to wrestling stardom
  9. Yep, this is the best thing going today. Conrad is great at moving the conversation along and hitting all the bullet points. Another plus for Bruce is his impressions are so dead on that they really animate the stories. Looking forward to more of these. On a related note, there's been a lot of wrestling content added to Amazon Video lately, a lot of it involving Bruce.
  10. http://www.prowrestlinghistory.com/smw/ There's a torrent on XWT-Classics with every TV show, handheld, and commercial release.

  14. Honestly, this is why I never trained for wrestling. You can't expect to land on your back and your neck and not get hurt. Rollins did the move for years and years and no one ever got hurt. Why? Because they were careful? Because Rollins was careful? Nope, it was just dumb luck basically.

  24. This is a project that really needs to grow some legs. I started a spreadsheet with all the candidates for each year which have already been referenced ("nominated") in this thread. So far the spreadsheet only goes up to 1979. My intention is to find all the nominated matches and post links to them on the spreadsheet. Eventually we can start individual threads for each year and vote on the Match of the Year.
  25. I've always enjoyed SK's writing in bits and pieces, but this was a very rough start.
