Looks like he is getting a run with Cena so hopefully some of those make tape. Pulling for it to work out well for him because, yeah, I love the character and could see him being a reliable upper midcard guy for a while if he gets a good match down.

Also, the prevailing take (Meltzer, etc.) on that match was that it was actually bad and slow and not over. I loved it, though. I don’t think he is some fantastic wrestler at this point. I would just like to see him move up the card and see how he does with a big star.

Thats too bad. I love both of those dudes. Starr has been so good everywhere else. Yehi has a style that doesn't translate super well in PWG (neither Thatcher or Gulak did well either) so this may just be a case of Starr being stuck with the wrong opponent. Hopefully he gets another shot with Trevor Lee or Joey Janela or something. He and Janela should just recreate the Beyond shitshow match they had on NYE over in Reseda. It would be insane.

I don't think you'll see him again. When they bomb out there, they usually don't come back. Happened to Jay Lethal, Chris Dickinson, and Brian Myers in the past few years just off the top of my head.

This was so fucking bonkers that I couldn't believe what I was watching. It was the match to have in front of a crazy drunk crowd with no guardrails at midnight on New Year's Day. I love both these guys but especially Janela. Dude goes everywhere and gets over. I'm not a deathmatch guy, outside of some exceptions (Nick Gage) and this is definitely not for everyone.

I disagree with him. There's one wrestling company in North America where they can make a lot of money. I'm not sure how much more attractive the Bucks or Cody can get when that company already sells 50,000 tickets to WrestleMania before they announce a match. There are no bidding wars in 2018. Like most Cornette stuff, he lives in the past.

I am watching ASW this morning and so hyped for Walter vs ZSJ. I’m also giving pretty serious thought to buying the Style Battle gimmick this afternoon to see Walter vs Nick Gage. Man... i really want to check that Walter vs Gage match out. I honestly can't even picture it in my brain. I am a huge fan of both, but they feel like they belong in different worlds.It was pretty fun. They did a double DQ after a bit and then just started doing Nick Gage shit. Hopefully they keep booking him.

I loved it. I was super-amped just at the thought of it and it was good. I would have liked to have seen more Nick Gage shit but I think the Style Battle gimmick made that hard to do within the construct of a match. I hope WWN keeps booking Gage going forward, especially since I am seeing a bunch of their shows during Mania weekend.
