What do you think of Bruce Mitchell?
Zoo Enthusiast replied to BigBadMick's topic in Publications and Podcasts
They are offering a 10 free day trial for their VIP membership right now. Plenty of time to snag the shows. I have a bunch on an old laptop somewhere in my house but not that many, unfortunately. Daniel Bryan as a heel coming back to face babyface Shane at WrestleMania would be a perfect WWE move.

[2017-10-11-WWE-NXT] Andrade 'Cien' Almas vs Johnny Gargano
Zoo Enthusiast replied to Maciej's topic in October 2017
Just watched this this morning. These guys are great together. I’d love to see them get behind Almas. I think he has some pretty crazy upside both in-ring and character-wise. Gargano is pretty much a lock to have a good match with anyone on the NXT roster and is capable of great ones like the two with Almas when he has a good opponent.- 1 reply

Yeah, that’s how I watch it now. Since I’m an adult with a job, I’d prefer to just give them my money because it’s easier and more dependable than torrents, but so it goes.
-
Yeah, that’s not what I am interested in. At all. All I want is an app that is functional.
-
They are airing this on the Network, correct?

If that's true, then Jericho wrestling Omega is completely pointless. The whole idea - I'd imagine - is to get thousands of new fans. But New Japan needs to meet those fans halfway by upgrading their bush league NJPW World service. Yeah, if they want to make much, much more of a dent in America (aside from the occasional one-off or co-promotion with ROH) they need to make it as simple as possible for people to consume their content. The way wrestling is watched here now is via set-top boxes or gaming consoles with streaming capabilities. Like Eduardo said, they’re not even close to as easy to watch as HighSpots. Hell, use that PivotShare company that several wrestling promotions use for their Roku apps. Have never had an issue with it and I have subscribed for a long time.

If so, they nailed it. I am re-subbing for the show (getting three free months helps, though). Really looking forward to it.

I think it's probably very exhausting to have Ric Flair in your life.

[2000-01-22-MPPW-TV] Tracy Smothers vs Nick Dinsmore

Dropkicks in cowboy boots. All hail Tracy F. Smothers. -
[2000-01-14-ECW-TNN] Yoshihiro Taijiri vs Jerry Lynn
Zoo Enthusiast replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
Taijiri was just awesome to watch at this point. Easily my favorite ECW guy because he just always delivered. I also always have nostalgic feelings for Jerry Lynn, so there's no way I wouldn't love this match. No bullshit, just 8 minutes of action. -
[2000-01-10-WCW-Nitro] Bret Hart vs Kevin Nash
Zoo Enthusiast replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
This was good until all the crazy shit started happening with Sid, etc. Only for it all to be saved with Terry Funk branding Big Kev at the very end. -
[2000-01-09-ECW-Guilty as Charged] Mike Awesome vs Spike Dudley
Zoo Enthusiast replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
This was the first time I had watched this since it aired on PPV. I was a huge fan of Spike as a kid and still enjoy watching him bump like a maniac and go through tables. Certainly nothing special as a match but it entertained me as a fan who enjoys both guys, warts and all. -
Exactly. This has been my main barrier to entry. I've got HighSpots, WWE, and Powerbomb.tv right on my Roku. I've watched a thing or two here and there on NJPW World but haven't felt the need to subscribe because of this. Dave was saying when it first launched that all of these things were in the works but it never showed up, aside from the translation button on the website.

[2000-01-06-WWF-Smackdown] The Rock vs Kurt Angle
Zoo Enthusiast replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
Good times. The wrestling is pretty non-descript and that's the point. Rock in 2000 is about as fun as it gets. Angle's celebration at the end was enough to make this a great watch. Plus a Steve Blackman cameo. -
I enjoyed this quite a bit, commentary aside. Rikishi was good at this time. HHH worked hard and made him believable. Crowd was quite with it and probably really would have gotten hotter if they fleshed the match out a bit more. Not really necessary, though, since it's just a Rikishi match. As everyone else has said, Steph was wretched on commentary.

[2000-01-06-WCW-Thunder] Bret Hart vs Terry Funk (Hardcore)
Zoo Enthusiast replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
This was some real WCW bullshit, here. I thought Funk was good, in his very-late stage way. I remembered very early on in the match that this was Bret post-concussion, so I am sure that that tainted how I viewed his performance. Both guys were able to make it violent without using nothing but plunder, and that was nice. Once the nWo fuckery starts, it goes straight off the cliff. David Flair and his crowbar, locking Arn in the back. Daphne. Just a whole lotta what the fuck. Of course there's no finish because it is 2000 Thunder. -
I thought Big Show was pretty good in this match but I generally tend to like him as long as he's not totally out of shape. I thought it was perfectly fine as a TV match, but certainly not a big moment by any means, considering they switched the belt on TV. I think part of that is just me being out of practice when it comes to watching that era recently. Also, DX just felt so fucking lame by this point.

What a fantastic apex for this great feud. Loved lots of the little twists in this match, especially the removal of the bottom rope. Sabre's work throughout the feud was terrific and he finished the story in a big way. The finish was cathartic and wonderful. The best stuff PWG has done in quite some time, IMO, and I watch every show. I didn't love this show as a whole but it made the main event better.

Maybe he meant Matt Hardy's classic ROH SCUM run.

[2017-05-19-PWG-Head Like A Cole] Zack Sabre Jr vs Trent
Zoo Enthusiast replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in May 2017
I really liked this as an added chapter to the sweet little feud between LDRS and Best Friends. I love when Trent gets to work a more straight match and he can sell his ass off. Sabre has been terrific in his title run, especially post-heel turn.- 2 replies
