ThROH The Years: A ROH retrospective podcast
Zoo Enthusiast replied to Hobbes's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Oh fuck yeah. Foy FTW. -
So in this case I guess the reason for uploading these is "just because." I'm all for it! Yeah, I just didn't want to be too optimistic! Whole bunch more right here if you want to be more optimistic about something right here and now: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzKMa9zvx4rQn7-TPewu6zQ/videos Oh, I'm aware. I just would like more stuff like this on the Network, obviously.

Is there someone going in HOF that these are relevant to?

Between the Sheets #87 (March 15-21, 1997)
Zoo Enthusiast replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
This is the exact week when I went back to being a wrestling fanatic after the dark years of the mid-90's. -
Regardless, I am glad they are uploading them.

The great thing would be if they went through the trouble of buying a replica belt strictly for the purpose of blowing loads on it. This actually got a real out loud laugh from me. So LOL, but for real. I keep going back to it and laughing. Well done. Thank you, brother.

I would consider it homage.

I clicked on this thread knowing whatever the new posts were couldn't be good. Expected much worse.

I was hoping they'd do Roman/Braun next Mania but this is totally cool by me. Maybe that'll blow off at Summerslam since they seem to be keeping it warm.

It's called a ringside membership it gets you early access and discounts on tickets mainly but it does also give you the ability to watch the TV online earlier and a selection of older VODs but it's never anything super current and they add and remove stuff so it's more like a digital version of WWE classics Plus no Roku or Apple TV app. Are they not capable of getting a PivotShare channel like HighSpots, CZDub, AAW, et al? It's not like there is any other effective way to monetize their back catalog short of just selling it to WWE eventually. There are many, many shows that aren't in print on DVD anymore so it's not like they'd even be cannibalizing that revenue stream (and I'd assume that it's mostly dry anyhow aside from the completist collectors). It's just a waste.
-
Yeah, it's pretty dumb. They don't even put up the shows immediately for the Ringside Members. I guess they feel they get enough buys to justify it, but you'd have to think they'd do well with a proper streaming network deal. The lack of a network is what keeps me from even bothering following them closely. They are just way behind the current scene. I can get a whole month of WWE and Highspots for like 60% of one ROH PPV.

Greatest Match in Wrestlemania History?
Zoo Enthusiast replied to Microstatistics's topic in Pro Wrestling
Austin/Bret and Warrior/Hogan are my picks. -
Been watching the 2016 WWE PPV's since I saw very few of them, or only watched the acclaimed matches. I'm up to HIAC now. Backlash has definitely been my favorite so far. At least I am using my Network subscription.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that saw it like that. I think the only people who DIDN'T see it as a sign of respect are the ones that see a burial occurring at all times.

[2017-03-07-WWE-Smackdown] A.J. Styles vs Randy Orton
Zoo Enthusiast replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in March 2017
This was fucking great. They even made the Orton draping DDT spot (easily one of the most contrived moves in modern wrestling) make sense. Really, really good match. -
I thought there was a chance that the bottom rope was loose because Goldberg slipped on it when he was climbing after his match but when I watched it on TV it seemed like that wasn't the case. I split the blame between both of them. Just an unfortunate spot and definitely not exclusive to the women on the roster.

I couldn't believe what I was watching in the stands. I was like "just do a fucking sliding dropkick!" Ruined the whole finishing stretch.
