I am starting to worry that the plan is for Cena to beat Brock on a banana peel finish at NOC and than loose to him again at the Rumble. I really hope they can convince Brock to do Survivor Series, so he is working every second ppv which I think is more than enough for Brock. I am certain they are going with Reigns -Hunter at HIAC and that should be a big enough match that there is no need for a title defense, TLC could be Ambrose vs Rollins for the Money in the Bank contract as a blow off of their feud, putting the rest of the roster in the under-card in gimmick matches and you have a decent card especially by the standards of the network. If Brock is going into Mania as champion I am curious what they are going to do at Elimination Chamber, I cant see Brock defending the title in the chamber and the rumble would have already decided the no 1 contender for Mania.

Shoots Review and Preview thread
slackermillionaire replied to BruiserBrody's topic in Megathread archive
Yup and grossly under delivered on the not afraid to burn bridges thing. Strangely I got the sense that he wasn't really holding back, he just generally had nothing noteworthy to say. It seems as though when he was in the WWE he was just happy to be there, I am sure he was thankful for getting his big break. And unlike guys like Ryder who have to go to TV every week and the company has nothing for him, Sydal was pretty busy in the WWE, Even if he wasnt on Raw and Smackdown he was often put in decent matches on Superstars to shine. When the company lost complete faith in him after his second drug failure, he was never really seen from again, so it wasn't like he was dealing with these people who were ignoring him on a weekly basis. Actually I thought the two year hiatus was a blessing in disguise for him, he had a good chance to let his ankle heal and not rush back to work while still picking up a pay check. For someone who wrestles his style, that time off from a such major injury can only put years on his career. All in all though I did find the shoot to be rather tedious and it dragged at times. Highlight though is when they receive a question from a gay fan who thanks Sydal for being supportive of the community and Sydal automatically assumes it must be a rib. -
I know Ambrose has mentioned it on commentary and I thnk Harry Smith has said something akin to this aswell, but WWE has a 3 limit pin break up by the illegal man in tag matches. Has this ever been enforced though?

Should a promotion's top program always be for the world title?
slackermillionaire replied to pol's topic in Pro Wrestling
In the last year I have been watching a lot of 2003 and 2004 ROH, it is surprising how many times Samoa Joe title matches are not the final show on the card. I don't think it actually hurt his reign at all, But of course the booking in ROH at the time is different than say current WWE as they were booking 2 cards a month and not having a weeks of tv to build up to one card. -
The nWo - Did the positives outweigh the negatives?
slackermillionaire replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
Without the nWo would the WWE achieve the same amount of success in the attitude era? I say no. -
I am certain I read earlier in the year that Del Rio's contract was up later on in the year and there was talk of him not re-signing. With the way they used him this year, it looked as though that was the case. With Rey Mysterio's contract still in the air and this news, can AAA USA afford both stars in 2015?

I wonder if the WWE has an interest in the tape library, I believe Spike owns all of the Impact footage. But really is there any footage they have that is really that worthwhile for the WWE? I don't think there is a lot of value adding old weekly TNA ppvs to the network.

Dixe Carter, ultimate ROH heel champion? fixed

If this is the end of Spike and with Jarrett's Global Force not seeming to have anything besides a database and a youtube video, I wonder how this influx of talent is going to affect the indies.

Wrestling Observer Question Archive
slackermillionaire replied to David's topic in Publications and Podcasts
As a huge fan of Dave answering the mailbag I think this is a wonderful idea and something I look forward to reading. - Should I transcribe the entire response, or should I edit out unnecessary stuff (like whenever Dave says "you know")? I think it is fine to edit out some of the unnecessary stuff, if someone really wanted to quote Dave in full, they will be able to access the radio show for themselves and transcribe the quote. - Should I include questions about MMA? I have no interest in MMA at all but it is not like that is the case with every WrestlingObserver.com. memebers. - Should I include questions that are clearly outdated? I think that for history purposes Dave's answers to outdated questions could be useful and who knows, perhaps a question that seems outdated in 2014 could due to a twist of events be relevant in 2016. -
I watched a whole lot of 2003 ROH in the last year and something that might go under the radar and not a great match per say but worth a look is Steve Cornio vs CM Punk 25/10 Empire State Showdown for the extended ring entrances alone. Also a fun watch with 2014 eyes is AJ Styles vs Danielson 1/11 Main Event Spectacles.

Place to Be Podcast Episode 319: No Mercy 2002
slackermillionaire replied to soup23's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Rhodes Brothers vs The Shield from Battleground. I rewatched both matches in the last month and I would put the Shield match slightly above it, though I love both matches. Actually Jericho Christian vs Booker and Goldust hold's up quite well too.- 4 replies

Does anybody give a shit about Randy Orton?
slackermillionaire replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in The Microscope
Sums up Orton perfectly and a perfect example of this is his dogshit Raw Match this year vs Kofi. Orton has a similar thing going on as HHH, someone who alot of other wrestlers are high on but the hardcores are not. -
Wrestling Culture Episode 53
slackermillionaire replied to puropotsy's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Sorry to bump this thread out of no where. I am trying to catch up with some stuff I missed/didnt know existed from 2013 and just re-listened to this podcast in preparation. Any chance you finished off this list? -
Out of all the possible wrestlemania matches they played a Benoit match?
-
It not quite a dream match and it has happened before but I think if they strike at the right time Rollins vs Ambrose vs Reigns could be a big deal. I just don't want to see it in the next 6-10 months though. I think Austin vs Punk is/was the best possible option for a Stone Cold return. Stone Cold is one of the few guys that if I think returned I would like to see him go over at Mania and Punk would be the right guy to take the fall. I think both guys would bring the bet out of each in terms of promo as well. I could see Punk really challenging Austin to bring his grade A stuff and Austin's podcast shows me he is still a hell of a talker and still quite sharp.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
slackermillionaire replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
It is 2014 and Triple H is one of my favorite people in wrestling. The 13 year old me is calling me a traitor right now. -
With his current standing in the company and the fact that it looks like Lawler is tying up all loose ends to sell the Memphis footage, I can see this happening in the couple of years.

WrestleMania 30 (Yes! yes! yes! Yes!)

Daniel Bryan and Triple H were both MVPs of the night. The Shield 6 man was fun, I -
I really think one of the biggest reason for the lack of emphasis on undercard feuds is the commentary team. When Sheamus and Christian are having a match on Raw, do the team actual tell the story of the build? Do they tell the story of the match? No, they spend the whole match bickering with one another until the go home sequence. I get this is what is expected by them from the company brass but how can the fans be interested in a feud if the commentary cant wain an interested for a less than 10 minute match on a 3 hour show?

Top 100 WWE Matches of 2013
slackermillionaire replied to Jimmy Redman's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Nice list and now with the network it is a real handy reference tool. Just going through it now, their is stuff I really liked but already have forgot about like Del Rio vs Swagger from Smackdown 19th of April. -
A playlist function is my dream for the Network especially if they allow users to share playlists with one another. Having people making feuds comps of say Rey-Eddie or The Shield and spending a day or two watching those seems like the best way I could use the network in a year or so time when my interest may be waning.

I don't see these on my Roku, computer, or phone. So I don't think it's just a Roku thing. Posted this on DVDVR the other day: The first Raw is still up if you go through the search function: http://network.wwe.com/video/v31360101 As is episode 5:http://network.wwe.com/video/v31359873 They should both work, still cant find episode 6 though. It must be a glitch in their system or they are hiding stuff until all the free trails ends. Does anyone have any idea why they are airing Hardcore TV and WCCW out of order?

Haven't checked Raw, but I can confirm that Rumble '14 is missing from mine also. I don't understand how stuff like this even happens. Does WWE have to manually approve each event for each app? I hope this kind of crap gets permanently sorted out by the end of the week. Raw 1,5,6 are missing from the vault on the browser but if you search you can find 1 and 5. I have been unable to find 6, if anybody comes across could they share the link. I think Metlzer said Royal Rumble 14 would be up soon, they just have to wait a certain amount of time before posting.
