I thought it was pretty good for a guy who had just recently changed character so much. He got across the narcissism well and kind of set up a feud with Bret.

Maybe the toupee was there as a kind of different thing in a very similar (but always fun) act that had been going on a long time. These promos are all so good it's hard to pick out this one from most of them. I'd say the one where they trashed Beckley, West Virginia was the only one that really stands out in terms of content. Not that they aren't really good and they probably contributed to the company's success (or what they had), just they tend to be pretty samey.

The joke about the half price tickets to Memphis was....something. So the Moondogs DO stil wrestle in Memphis. Booking seems really all-over-the-place with Eddie's return and this while the Moondogs are still around.

I was wondering how much this would expose the whole Brian Christopher thing. Second point of ridiculousness here is the ludicrous idea that Lawler would have kids in New York. Somewhere in there Coraluzzo ends up referencing the whole Global belt deal too. Either way, I was not impressed with Coraluzzo at all.

I liked how they built to the first belly-to-belly suplex so well and it made it such a huge deal. And they went back to the belly-to-belly throughout as a highspot, which was great. Both teams best match that I have seen ever.

I was wondering whether somebody booking this tournament had any idea bout Watts' new rules. Was it a mystery to the staff that these guys liked to fly?? Anyway, spotfest as already mentioned with Wellington twice sandbagging Liger noticeably. Fun parts but not much to speak of as a whole.

This was a great promo from Sting. More and more I am seeing that he could have been "The Man" for WCW the way Hogan was for WWF if he had been booked better.

I liked the match as a fun TV match. I would agree with garretta that the WCW booking in the past months has been atrocious outside of some good DA stuff. The finish was a little off for me and takes away from the match quite a bit. I thought Fonzie had a pretty good view of it for sure.

Loved seeing Lance Russell. My favorite ever announcer. I thought this was really well done and got the idea across that the tournament was a big deal.

I guess this could be a fun way to meet other fans of WCW. Not sure meeting your favorite wrestler and then getting to see them hanging around for a while on the cruise would be helpful for staying a fan though.

Was not a big fan of the content. I love both of these guys and how they presented it. Just can't get behind either idea, the ref is supposed to count the count and enforce the rules. Ole will take attention away from the wrestlers. And the mat thing seems like it is more likely to get wrestlers hurt than any other outcome.

I think a part of the problem is that they don't have strong enough babyfaces to contend with the likes of Orndorff, DWB & The Bodies. Who on the roster is going to conceivably come out and make a dent in any of those guys?

That line about Bobby Fulton being impotent was sure something. As is the toupee.

He is Dutch Mantel and we are not. What a line! I thought this was good, but was Dutch ignoring Barry's record in Global?

I think part of why he started yelling had something to do with the crowd. Could barely hear a yelling Eddie Gilbert over the "Lawler" chants. Which would have to drive the guy nuts. Honestly, Jerry Lawler calling himself the King of Wrestling in Memphis is pretty much spot on. There's no denying Lawler had these fans behind him about 3000%.

I thought of Sting right away looking at the guy. Way more steroid-y looking, which is kind of strange after Lawler's burial of the steroid-enhanced wrestlers a year or two back. If you're going to rip off a gimmick, why not be honest about it?

Great promo from Savage to change directions in the feud. Flair's run in WWF has been great in terms of character, but nothing ever seems to go the way it ought to.

I got a vague understanding of that bit too. The skeleton part was just plain strange though.

I thought Parka was great bumping around for the tecnicos while that kind of thing was actually happening. Not only did Perro wander around ringside forever, he also completely sold not one but two low blows from Parka. Perro and Fishman seemed to be the most over guys in the match and I was anticipating a big brawl between them to decide the match, which the build suggested. Instead we got a refereee disagreement and both teams being declared winners? Kind of a mess, but with fun stuff.

I was stoked that JR would get to call this match himself. I thought he did an amazing job and it was another match that he was perfect as commentator for. Did WCW look at Barry as a main event guy at the time? Because he was seriously over with this crowd. Windham busting out the hammerlock bodyslam was awesome. And I don't know how often this happens in televised matches, but Arn actually hit a top rope move in the second fall. I liked how JR showed a lot of respect for Arn as a wrestler even if he was a heel. The finish pissed me off. Great match with a ton of heat built up and you have a run-in? With better booking WCW could really have gained on the WWF at the time.

Paul E. and J.R. are clearly best friends. I thought Medusa was hot as well, but questioned the wardrobe choice until the bikini contest was mentioned. It is shocking to learn that WCW put on a PPV bikini contest before the WWF did. This honestly could have been on WWF TV about 7 years later.
