We still have three matches to go so I'm going to assume they're going to go over three hours tonight.
-
Lost my shit laughing at the first noise you hear after this match being the crying baby commercial.
-
Dave's Twitter is a fucking goldmine right now.
-
"somehow, this match continues" lmfao holy shit
-
What is WITH the golf commentary for this match?! These are two dudes trying to maim each other after one dude beat up up the other dude's wife. It's not The Masters.
-
This Coliseum Video-ass host segment.

I'm a New Yorker. It's not a New York thing; we don't get it either.

New season begins in two days with a two-hour episode about Chris Benoit. For now, they put up the first hour for free on YouTube:

Savage and Steele is tons of fun, as is the Funks tag and the Bulldogs tag. Bar none XI is my pick for the dirt worst.

Good NBA example of this is Chris Broussard. He used to be one of the top "source guys" in the NBA back in the early 2000s and then for one reason or another a certain NBA superstar didn't like him, which led to people who were friends with said superstar deciding they no longer liked Chris, and then he slowly started getting more and more bad information from tons of people he thought he could trust, with the peak of it being when he loudly boasted that Kawhi Leonard was staying in Toronto last Summer. Especially now that Woj is considered the one NBA guy who gets every scoop correct, Broussard is the butt of jokes now.

This is the part that I feel like people don't understand. It happens in the sports world a *lot*. Your sources are going to lie to you sometimes. This is kind of my biggest sticking point. I've made it no secret online and to wrestling buddies that I've been done with Dave for awhile now and have always thought he was kind of a huge factor in why the Smark Community was such a terrible thing in the early days of the internet. But people like Bruce Prichard go so out of their way to slag on Dave (didn't Bruce try claiming Dave was going to the papers to rat out the WWF for blading on Saturday Night's Main Event before bix had to message Conrad and tell him to sit Bruce down and tell him to knock it off?) for things that are so over the top and their listenerbase, which we gotta be honest is more than just a vocal minority at this point, treat it as gospel, and part of me is like shit, I don't want to be lumped with that crowd now. As for the whole thing on how Dave-haters think he has a pro-AEW bias... I even went out of my way awhile back to listen to Dave recapping WWE shows and PPVs and he was way more generous with his like of matches and the product than anyone who has been lumped as pro-AEW and anti-WWE is over here. In fact it's Bryan Alvarez that I would argue is the big anti-WWE guy over at F4W. Dave's one of the more "honestly Bryan I really enjoyed it/it was a good match" folks in that group.

WWE TV 02/03 - 02/09 Patrick Mahomes might be The Guy

According to Dave, Matt Riddle has some heat with Vince McMahon and co. for his general attitude on Twitter. Lesnar reportedly has been vocal about Riddle mocking him on Twitter, and since he has big pull with Vince, Vince isn't high on Riddle right now. Wild. -

Completely bizarre story that involves Bryan "Adam Bomb" Clark getting busted for drug trafficking. -
Incredible.
-
did they seriously miss edge's first spear so they could show the audience
-
This is gonna be real boring real quick unless his WM-opponent shows up early.
-
Charlotte talking to Pickle Rick
-
imagine ronda comes out now to do what she did last year and point to the sign

But even they, why scrub the entire match when they could have just started with everyone in the ring? Just seems like a super sloppy edit. Which I mean, I know. But still.

Going through 1998 with my brother because that's the era he's most into, and we got to Summer 1998 and it looks like the Network not only dubs in different music for The Oddities instead of the Insane Clown Posse, but on the show where Sable introduces them and they turn babyface for the first time (and Golga wrestles Marc Mero), the entire segment is cut from the Network's broadcast entirely. A completely baffling edit when you could have always just dubbed in new music for them rather than remove the entire segment entirely. It confused the hell out of us because they just introduced The Oddities as babyfaces like nothing happened and Ross and Lawler don't really explain anything. Any idea why the Network just removes the entire segment entirely?

The Jim Cornette Experience
CarpetCrawler replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
One thing I've noticed from getting a little back into listening to soundbites from Jim's podcasts on YouTube is that he's a lot more open with taking shots at Bruce Prichard than he used to be. I'm guessing they never exactly made up from whatever caused them to not be on speaking terms with each other about a year ago. Even back then though Cornette wouldn't be too mean about Bruce, but now he's taking real subtle shots at him. -
83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff

The Bruce channel used to honestly be pretty good with the clips--minimal filler/junk like the Meltzer bashing and it was great for if you wanted to just hear Bruce get to the point. It was my main source for that show because listening to a 2+ hour show was just out of the question for me. I hadn't checked on it in over half a year and decided to check it out on a whim a few days ago and it's gotten so, so much worse now. Tons of filler/Meltzer and dirtsheet bashing and asides that are just bickering about random stuff/inside jokes and often only about 10-20% of the audio clip has anything to do with what the video title claims it's about. Hard pass on the Bruce YouTube channel now, unfortunately. Still bummed over the loss of Jim Cornette's Talking Sense. I know they have an official channel now but the soundbite clips are few and far between, and most of them are stuff like "Jim comments on this current wrestling event/wrestler" which I could not give any less of a shit about at this point. I heavily enjoyed the Montreal Omnibus video they put out not too long ago though. -
oh neat, an out of context two minute clip from Velocity might drop every now and then guys!! Thanks WWE!! It's a bummer being in a niche audience. Was a fun ride while it lasted though.

Today I learned that the "ARE YOU READY... FOR THE SURVIVOR SERIES?" thing at the beginning of that terrible Wrestlemania song from the WWF Slam Jam album comes from Jimmy Garvin saying it during that interview with Mean Gene. My life is richer for knowing this now.

That's Seth's gripe, yeah. Has nothing to do with the airplane itself, Seth's talking about the RAW pep talk.
