My brother has the show on in the background and the Renee/Corey bickering is already way overdone. Also after many years of stable live streams on WWE's part, the Network is doing what it does for a lot of other people and buffering like crazy for us. We're already debating just watching this later.

I've always said that they should've kept Cole and Gargano as far away from each other as possible wrt a rematch because they're gonna expose the both of them really bad with overbooking the "can you top this" kickout spots and that's exactly what happened. They should've let Gargano keep riding that feelgood wave and moved him onto other challengers before plugging him and Cole back in with each other again.

I only see a movie about 2-3 times a year and every single time the crowd absolutely "pops" for major moments in movies. Even Get Out had more than one moment where the audience got up and cheered in the theater. The best example for this for me was the recent Dragon Ball Z Super Broly movie. That was a fun crowd to be in.

People do that with Dave by tagging Conrad for some reason and it's some of the most cringeworthy stuff possible.

Holy crap I completely forgot about that entire catering fight. That would explain all of this honestly.

There was an interview from a few years ago where he insinuated that's what would happen, he said something along the lines of not stopping because he still feels completely fine and has no interest in slowing down.

And later betrayed and beat up his brother!!

lmao at the amount of people responding to that tweet who feel the need to preface attacking someone who wishes for death of a journalist with "yikes, I hate Dave Meltzer but".

I hope it's just things they need to work out because on my PS4 Pro just trying to scroll to find an episode it chugs and chugs and chugs. Used to scroll way faster than this. Also I'm hoping they get the Vault/Hidden Gems back up. And I can't get any video to load on my PC at all? But at least I can watch stuff on my PS4. Also the way you fast forward stuff is a lot sketchier/slower than it used to be. A lot of this is stuff you'd want to test beforehand but who am I to say I guess.

I grew up in New York and remember us getting most everything WWF carried. Championship/All-Star Wrestling aired on WWOR and then Superstars/Challenge moved to I believe WNYW/FOX. Spotlight used to air real late at night on MSG Network (like 2AM), and so did ECW for awhile!! I remember watching the Tazz/Mike Awesome match at 2 in the morning via MSG.

Really minor thing that while super trivial I find incredibly fascinating as I run the gamut on research into the WWF Rock'n'Wrestling era. All my life the conventional wisdom was that the first MTV WWF special was called "The Brawl to End It All" while the second one was called "The War to Settle the Score". Heck, that's even the name of the special on Wikipedia. And we've never really had an actual MTV broadcast of that event floating around anywhere to say otherwise. Recently I've seen MTV commercials of repeat airings from after the fact that have referred it it as actually "The Brawl to Settle It All". Not having any idea if that was just a hindsight name change on MTV's part, I've always been hoping to find footage of the original MTV airing to figure out the truth. With the help of Richard Land I've been able to confirm that the name of the show was always "The Brawl to Settle It All" and "End It All" was rather internet conventional wisdom that was accepted as fact. We've obtained a partial recording of that MTV airing where they refer to it as such numerous times during the broadcast. Just thought it was fascinating to see a minor but arguably important footnote in wrestling history was always recalled incorrectly all this time!!

"Corey, go start the car" was a legit clever line from Renee.

Corey is legitimately terrible, a complete 180 from NXT. Also Corbin giving Lacey a dirty look because she even gave HIM a slow count got a legit laugh out of me. What the hell are they doing with this match.

This crowd is not taking this match well at all, it's straight up dying out there.

Kofi and Ziggler was a lot of fun, loved the fuck out of that finish. That match with the constant Ziggler escaping teases had the most crowd reaction out of anything on this show so far. That crowd was legit terrified Kofi was about to lose. It was awesome.

The absurd thing is when he's reading off a teleprompter for sports he's actually not as bad as you'd think. After he left WWE but before he had a major role with ESPN he used to do the halftime show for New York Knicks games on MSG Network for years so I had to see him almost constantly, and he was very good at a sportsdesk-type job. Like completely different from how he has ever been in WWE. That WWE Machine just drains you.

Corey is the dirt worst. He's trying to do a Jesse Ventura schtick but he falls into the same trap that Jesse fell into sometimes where he just becomes too much and doesn't realize when he needs to step back. But even Jesse most of the time (except with Vince) knew when to back off. His fawning over Mandy is so creepy whereas his fawning over Eva Marie at least had him clearly in on the joke rather than sounding like he's drooling over her worse than Vince would with Miss Elizabeth. Corey moving up from NXT was probably the worst possible thing that could have happened to him.

I finally got the chance to watch the Moolah doc. Definitely one of the weaker ones in that some stuff felt like it was glossed over and needed more time (The entire Sweet Georgia Brown segment could've been its own documentary and it feels like even with its extended length it was glossed over) and that weird "Fight for Moolah" dude was... the hell was that all about anyway? Also the documentary spends the last five minutes just rapidfire shoving in clips of various women's wrestlers denying the allegations and I think that's why people think it slants in favor of Moolah. The end of the documentary definitely gives you the impression that the documentary folks want you to doubt some of the allegations. Wendi embellishing the Screwjob was really offputting too. Totally unrelated but one Moolah thing I'll never forget is when Ken Resnick was promoting a house show tour after Wrestlemania 2 where Moolah was doing rematches with Velvet McIntrye. Resnick asked her how she'd prepare herself and Moolah's response was basically "well I beat her in 30 seconds at Wrestlemania so I don't think it even matters, does it?" and just buries the fuck out of Velvet for no reason whatsoever in this promo meant to promote a long series of house show rematches. Sell those tickets, Moolah!!

They've been on Main Event a lot... in singles matches bizarrely enough.

She would take 1-2 months off at a time and then was on the house show circuit in the C/B team shows typically, first with Kai, then Moolah (because Mad Maxine quit), then back with Kai, and then with Spider Lady. And yeah she wasn't used anywhere near as much on TV as I think most people realize which took me off-guard as well. The most interesting thing to me about Richter's post-WM run is the match in Puerto Rico against Spider Lady where they even get Cyndi Lauper to show up. This was many months after WrestleMania, and Lauper was already phased out of WWF stuff heavily at that point.

Kind of reminds me of the David Sammartino-Ron Shaw phantom submission from the Spectrum that happened around the same time where Gorilla spent a lot of the next match bitching out the ref for ending the match early when it was all on Sammartino for quitting two minutes in.

And she knew before as well as during, which makes the whole thing moot. I think she was trying to make it a juicier story than it really was. I think the most telling thing about how last minute the screwjob was was the reaction of Gorilla and Jesse, who clearly had no clue beforehand what was going to happen. Two guys' whose entire commentary schtick (especially in the case of Jesse) is that they are smarter than the room would absolutely not sell that level of confusion.

The plan for that MSG match before Vince went with the double cross was that Wendi or Spider Lady was going to lose by countout or DQ (I forget which but it was absolutely going to be a non-finish) and then Wendi was going to unmask Moolah and chase her to the back, so it sounds to me like Wendi is working the documentary to make it a juicier story. She 100% knew it was Moolah, what she didn't know was that Vince and Moolah were double crossing her, and neither did Gorilla and Jesse.

The Von Erich episode was pretty good. I think the documentary kinda needed Jim Cornette to be brutally honest, pulling no punches, and down to Earth about the whole situation. You really do feel for Kevin and some of my favorite parts of the documentary were him talking about his family and where he goes to spend time by himself. He was definitely the best part of the documentary and I'm really happy even through all the shit he's gone through he's still fighting through everything and seems to be at peace with his entire life, or at least at the best he can.

Didn't realize Cornette and Bruce Prichard had a falling out but I guess I can't be surprised.
