  1. A couple of ugly missed spots at the end of the Alexa-Naomi match. But it was fine, like the rest of the show.
  2. Kalisto's ring gear tonight looks like he left his real trunks at home and had to go the ring in his underwear.
  3. Crews turns, become's Dolph's flunky? Certainly better than smilin' babyface Apollo.
  4. Here's something I didn't know: apparently Misawa said Chavo was the best wrestler he ever faced. Quite a compliment.
  5. He passed away today of liver cancer, according to Chavo Jr.
  6. They are Canadian...
  7. Haven't listened, but I'm glad Tony is embracing his wrestling past, rather than running from it. A few years ago he was blocking anyone who Tweeted him about wrestling, even when complimentary.
  8. I'm sure that has something to do with it, though probably not the entire story.
  9. Misawa's elbow as the Hattori Hanzo sword in Kill Bill is such a great comparison. Good stuff guys, excited to see how the project turns out.
  10. Sure, but it was a damn entertaining show. I'll take predictable/safe but good over risky and bad every time.
  11. I don't get Orton winning, but whatever. Very good Rumble.
  12. Figured HHH would be #30, with Rollins screwing him over, but this is an epic troll job. Never change, Vinny Mac .
  13. Call me a mark but I will never tire of Brock wrecking dudes. I mean, I hope he's okay but that Enzo clothesline was savage.
  14. It's good to hear King on commentary again. He for sure got stale and checked out for long stretches but he's in good form tonight.
  15. Cesaro spinning all the guys was an obvious spot, but it was a hoot nonetheless.
  16. Loved the crowd pop for Mark and Braun squaring up.
  17. The finish definitely played off the SS match: AJ put him away with the Styles Clash -> springboard elbow, but Cena was waiting for it and countered.
  18. Loved that submission reversal sequence before the all the nearfalls started. And those lariats were nasty, where did they come from? Kinda wish Cena would have sold more at the end, rather than hulk up, but yeah, another great one from these guys.
  19. I know a couple of PWOers are in the building - is the crowd anywhere near 52k? Bummer to see the cruisers put on a solid match to silence, even in front of hardcore fans at a PPV. May be time for yet another re-think on this experiment.
  20. Really good stuff from DIY v Authors of Pain. Loved the finish - it really felt definitive. I don't want to go full Cornette here, but if Ciampa can at least try to hide the thigh-slapping on his knee strikes that would be great.
  21. What a fun match, the best AJPW tag since the 1988 RWTL final. Furnas & Kroffat are over as can be in Budokan, to the point where Footloose (especially Fuyuki) are getting legit heel heat for breaking up pins and such.
  22. I second JKWebb's thoughts. It was great seeing it the first time way back in the day on VHS, but watching things in context is always superior. You young fellas coming up in the DVD/Google Drive/streaming era don't know how lucky you have it .
  23. I don't remember head drops being a big part of WWE style, but the ex-ROH guys they have (Owens, Zayn, Rollins) seem to do much more turnbuckle and apron spots. And not just Rollins giving two turnbuckle bombs to a 56 year old part-timer, but Zayn seems to work that exploder into the turnbuckles every chance he gets.
  24. I said 80s, but it's availability bias of course. If we had as much 60s-70s territory stuff on tape, who knows what we'd discover.
