  1. Probably belongs in the TV thread, but fans are hijacking the opening segment already.
  2. Kinda think this is a cut above the Cheatum mini-movies, mostly because of Dusty. He has a definite presence that no one in those had, and gives it some grounding in a kind of reality. I think there's an alternate universe where Dusty ends up a brilliant, Sam Elliot-esque character actor instead of a pro wrestler.
  3. I'm with Soup and Ditch here - loved loved loved this. Thought this was a great performance by Hokuto in particular, with Dynamite almost as good.

    WrestleMania 32

Well no show has sold that much, much less this one. But the show is pretty well sold out already - only standing room and blocked-off viewing seats are available beside the super-expensive tickets. Having said that, if I didn't have friends coming into town I sure wouldn't be going. The event is clearly the selling point now, not the card.
  5. What device are you using? On my Fire stick, most archived shows are indexed so you can skip to the beginning/end of matches.
  6. Oh dear, this didn't age well... But anyway, agreed with this whole thread - shockingly good, bordering on great match. I liked this more than any Flair match in 1994 so far, which undoubtedly says more about me than any of his matches.

    NXT talk

And decent tickets are going for $200+ on StubHub. I wonder why they didn't book the big arena they're using for Raw and the HOF ceremony? It's free that night according to the website, maybe they'll move it.
  8. He mentioned WrestleMania a couple of times, but was too coked up and/or rolling on molly to stay focused on anything tonight.
  9. Man. Rock really is coming off like a dickhead in that segment, making Big Show sad, putting Lana on blast.
  10. I thought there was a noticeable deflation when Brock was eliminated.
  11. Such a strange world we're in where a smarky crowd gives HHH a babyface pop. 2016 shaping up to be another strange year, brothers and sisters.
  12. Miz's face walking down the aisle towards Brock was gold. It's too bad his character is burned, because he's really good.
  13. Smart way to distract the crowd from Styles by re-debuting Zayn. And great attention to detail with continuing his and KO's feud.
  14. Production is not having a great evening. Lots of missed spots, the latest being Kofi's elimination, which I didn't even realize happened until they replayed it.
  15. Beside the point of course, but AJ setting up the Styles Clash on Roman was an interesting visual. Even Axel was towering over him.
  16. I'm as down on Ambrose as anybody, but he's been damn good in tonight's match. Even his strikes look good, the chops especially.
  17. Some dudes are just shaped like that. He lost a lot of weight when he was with NXT, but it's not like he looked like 89 Rick Rude. And being on the road every week probably doesn't help.
  18. 100% with you here. Production values make way too much of a difference for me with my enjoyment of a match. I tend to dislike handhelds for the same reasons.
  19. Not that the show is given them anything to be particularly enthusiastic about, but the crowd has been as dead for this show for a long time.
  20. All Japan can still surprise me - never saw this before, or even remember it being talked up all that much, but this was amazing. Kobashi's knee selling in particular stood out for me, but really all four guys were great.
  21. Great stuff obviously, but during this time period the unnatural, over-produced crowd reactions ruined it for me. Another bad WCW idea.
  22. Given how unfashionable the NJ Juniors have become around here, I'm sure that Otani (as well as El Samurai, Kanemoto, and those in the orbit like Sasuke and Ultimo) to be missing from many lists. I think Liger will be top 25, and my be my #1. Certainly the discussion around that style pales in comparison to the early 2000's. Though this is the only board I frequent, so maybe it's in vogue in other places still.
  23. "Personality Profile with Les Thatcher" doesn't quite have the juice that "Down & Dirty with Dr. Dutch Mantell", does it? SMW looking a bit creaky, trying to push these two teams.
  24. I think this is correct. I remember something in the Observer to that effect, and this press release only mentions Wal-Mart.
  25. I'm right there with Strummer - I was a senior in HS during the 97/98 run and *during that time* it absolutely hit the sweet spot culturally. They aren't as important as Stone Cold at making me a hardcore fan, but a fairly close #2. I'm guessing that a rewatch will be just as cringe-worthy as the reunions were.
