  1. Could any case be made for Chris Kanyon?
  2. Who got to Roddy/Tanahashi from WOTW night 2? That match cracked my top 10 for the year so far easily
  3. I'll say Kawada-Misawa-Kobashi-Taue. All four of these guys are great, but the beating Kobashi took in this thread is ridiculous
  4. This is something that I've always found very interesting and I would love to think of a way to try to compare guys fairly. I definitely feel like it's not accurate to hold the guys from this era to the same drawing standards as you would for the era of people running events once a month at MSG or the champ being sent to work another territory and being expected to get it hot where ever they get sent.
  5. I'm going to have to say Cena on this one. Exactly one of the points I planned on making. While wrestling came more naturally for Bret, seeing how Cena has developed over the last decade in to a great performer is admirable. In comparing versatility, I think Cena has shown that he's able to work better with a more eclectic group of guys than Bret was. Bret is an all-time great in his department, but I struggle finding matches where he shines even when he's out of his comfort zone. When comparing their "greatest matches", Cena has that category in my opinion, but to be fair I haven't watched Bret in a LONG time. If we could compile a definitive 10 best matches list for each guy, the comparison would work much better. I have to go rewatch Bret's greatest hits to see how they measure up to Cena's.
  6. Yeah I'm really curious how they work this angle with Cueto's brother. This can go from interesting to worst storyline of the year territory really quicly
  7. I like the idea of Cena becoming extremely obsessed with keeping the U.S title. It wouldn't be an immediate thing, I would like him to slow burn it. Have him act increasingly heelish throughout his U.S open challenge matches and his pre-match promos just become condescending towards the talent. He always makes it clear that he's the measuring stick of this company. Have a rising fan favorite beat him on one of those RAW episodes and have Cena reluctantly shake his hand after the match, but Cena is very visibly frustrated and upset that he lost this belt he was building and cherished for months. At the next PPV, have the person retain against Cena in the rematch and this is where Cena loses his shit and just attacks this person viciously after the match.
  8. Off the top of my head Danielson Kobashi Flair Kawada Hansen Steamboat Misawa Dynamite Kid El Hijo Del Santo Fujinami
  9. Morishima was very good during his peak in '06-'07, but very uninspired and often mediocre for the majority of his career. Didn't come anywhere close to the expectations fans and NOAH higher ups had for him to become a bonafide star.
  10. New Day has become my favorite thing about the main shows. Always entertaining and between Xavier and Big E, I'm constantly laughing at their antics.
  11. I'm hearing really great things about this show. Gonna have to check it out either today or tomorrow. Weird that the one EVOLVE show I didn't buy the live airing for this year so far is the one getting the most praise.
  12. Neville vs. Bo Dallas- I see no reason for Bo to win this match over Neville Triple Threat: Nikki Bella© vs. Paige vs. Naomi (Divas Championship)- Nikki has had a very long reign, but I think WWE is about to pull the trigger with Naomi and give her a run John Cena vs. Kevin Owens- I really don't see either guy losing clean, but I can see Cena losing through count-out or maybe ref stoppage Elimination Chamber: The New Day© vs. Lucha Dragons vs.Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs.Prime Time Players vs. The Ascension vs. Los Matadores (Tag Team Championship)- The New Day have really found their footing since going heel and have become one of my favorite parts of WWE programming. I don't see them dropping the belts this early Elimination Chamber: Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus vs. Ryback vs. R Truth vs. King Barrett vs. Rusev (Intercontinental Championship)- Been predicting Sheamus since this match was announced and I'm still 100% sure he walks out with the belt Seth Rollins© vs. Dean Ambrose (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)- Expect another tainted Rollins victory through an accidental spear to Ambrose by Reigns Any news on if the Cena/Owens match is for the title?
  13. These are all some very interesting comparisons, I'll answer two of them and also leave a few of my own. Randy Savage vs Shinya Hashimoto? While Randy was good in the ring and in my opinion, a top five promo of all time, I'll have to give the edge to Shinya on this one. I always loved the way he worked and I can think of more matches I thought were "great" from him than I can for Savage and Savage had some really disappointing years in ring wise in WCW as well which hurts his stock in my view. William Regal vs Tully Blanchard? Two very under-appreciated talents. For this comparison I think I'll have to go with Blanchard. While both were definitely great as workers, very consistent and very underrated talkers for a very long time, I'm hard-pressed to think of many "great" matches from either guy because of the limited opportunities they got to really shine. With all that being said, the reason I give Blanchard the edge is because in my mind he was so great the role of the "chicken shit" heel and I can think of more memorable matches from him than I can for Regal. A few that I've thought up myself Minoru Suzuki vs Christopher Daniels Bryan Danielson vs Rob Van Dam KENTA vs Chris Jericho "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs Tommy Rich Curt Hennig vs Jun Akiyama
