Ziggler did not win that match. Sting did. That killed the angle off even before Cena brought them back. Sure but let's not forget the way Ziggler fought to survive down 3v1 and was pulling off a very valiant and emotional comeback that the crowd was invested in before HHH interference and all the shenanigans took place. I think making the whole thing about Sting and not even giving any credit to Ziggler's performance was more of the problem.

Ziggler to me is a guy that kinda got bad luck with getting injured after his MITB cash in which is what I guess was going to be his test reign. He was getting very good reactions even before turning face in 2013. He's a guy the fans obviously wanted to see him doing more and a lot fans still do care about the guy.
-
There has been at least three times where I thought Ziggler was on the road for sure fire main event status. One being the 2012 year where he won MITB, sole survivor in Survivor Series match when it came down to him and Orton, and feuded with Cena. Another is in 2013 where they did the double turn at Payback with Del Rio. The last is the already mentioned Team Cena vs Team Authority match where he won after being down 3 to 1.

ZIggler getting that huge Survivor Series win and WWE not doing anything with that except making it about Sting just irritated me. That win should've been used to catapult someone to the main event, but they made that entire scenario about Sting screwing The Authority.

I can't think of one right now. It's always "big push and that person sticks" which is what they hope for or the more likely "big push that turns in to mid card purgatory". WWE is just terrible at rebuilding guys to that status they were after the initial push.

Angel de Oro vs Polvora http://youtu.be/6cketxjc7P4 Finally got around to watching this and it's probably one of my personal favorite lucha matches this year

Masato Tanaka Shawn Michaels Rey Mysterio AJ Styles Tanaka is in my top 30 right now with a very strong chance of moving up. Michaels and Mysterio are all guys in my top 20 currently with AJ climbing up my ranks to top 10.

Styles vs Tanahashi was really great stuff. Gonna have to rewatch some stuff, but I would put it in my top 3 matches of the tournament.

Very weird if they willingly just spoiled the main of a pretty big show for them

I haven't been paying attention to this whole Rollins/Cena story, can someone tell me what the point of this is? Is this thing just gonna end with Cena vacating the U.S Title to hold the World Title or do you guys think that Cena would actually carry and defend both belts?

Another death that has really caught me off guard. RIP Hot Rod, one of the best heels to ever do it.

I don't see any other scenario except Okada-Nakamura main eventing WK10, being the rubber match after last year's G1 Final and this year's showdown to determine the B Block (which I have Nak winning). I got Nak-Styles as the G1 Final.

Because Crowe is a complete and utter goof, that's why. His persona makes Jericho at his hammiest look subtle. Awful and embarrassing. I cringe whenever he's on. Are they hamming it up a bit too much? Probably, but that doesn't change the fact that in terms of needing depth in the upper tier and having this guy at your disposal, not using him doesn't make too much sense. I'm not the biggest Crowe fan, but even I can see this guy should be getting used more.
-
Crowe is just a complete non factor on NXT and it boggles my mind how. He can easily be on the same level of the upper tier guys, especially with the lack of depth right now.
-
Uhaa really needs to work TV on the next set of tapings. With the lack of depth they have right now with the men, that's the best idea and I can see him moving up the card pretty fast. I read that Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls were impressive at the tryouts, maybe they come in by the end of the year

That stuff with Balor was gold

I really liked the match. I don't like how they completely abandoned the arm work, but the match was a ton of fun so I'll let that slide. Striker and Vampiro were so good down the stretch, best work from either of them so far during this run.

In complete agreement with everything said about Silas in here. Just a simple lariat finish would work so much more for him more than that airplane spin cutter or split leg moonsault.

I think Thatcher has easily been one of the most outstanding wrestlers in the world for 2015 so far, just outside of my top 10.

I mean there are a bunch of guys who have gotten hurt and retired in their respective sports and then got in to pro wrestling, it's not uncommon

Wasn't Graves meant to be paired up with Corbin at one point?

People lost their shit because it was move spamming. When it involves a main event star like Cena who has long been derided as having a limited moveset do you seriously not see why this get pops? Kurt Angle doing a 450 splash knee drop got a pop too but it doesn't make it a good idea. As for losing his shit because of a nearfall, I don't recall Taker losing his shit when the chokeslam gets kicked out of. I don't recall Edge losing his shit when the Edgeomatic gets kicked out of. I don't recall CM Punk losing his shit when the elbow drop gets kicked out of. I don't recall Daniel Bryan losing his shit when the headbutt gets kicked out. And all those moves have been presented as devastating transitional moves and occasional finishes (that they have busted out many times through their careers with as much effectiveness as anything else besides their finishers). Cena losing his shit over a move he has never once established as a move to be feared is just idiocy. But then again if I want to make up a narrative that could make sense, I suppose Cena is just the clueless putz who doesn't understand pro wrestling and coasts on his supreme strength and never die attitude to win. Because he is not clearly getting what makes a move effective. Like you said, those moves were already established as transitional moves, not big finishes, that's why they aren't reacting that way. Cena pulled out a move he's never done before to try to beat Owens and Owens kicked out. Cena pulled out a new trick he thought would be effective and it didn't work, him acting shocked was completely appropriate.

I still don't get the problem that the Code Red is used to get a nearfall by Cena. Not every move is presented as a finisher. The AA has been established for over a decade to get Cena wins. Whether it takes one, two, or three, the AA usually gets him the win. The Code Red was used as a new wrinkle in Cena's arsenal and that is perfectly fine, just like how the electric chair facebuster he used was in the same light.
