Great showcases on TV while building up to SuperBrawl with a pit stop at the Omni. Steiners add an entirely different dynamic to the tag division. Speaking of that, I love what's going on in the entire tag division. Doom, RWs and Steiners in the world title picture while RnR and the Freebirds are battling for the US titles. Sid and Sting is the big money match and the explosion is about to happen. Flying Brian has really elevated the TV title. Hennig's the right guy holding the US title but can he hold off Steamboat. The Omni card will set the tone for Superbrawl.

The go home show to SNME was a fun read. The promos were great and served their purpose in hyping up the event. Warrior passing the torch to Titan was a huge moment. I liked the realistic behind the scenes depiction of this. The WWF is definitely in a transition stage and I'm excited about the direction. SNME time! Hart is working wonders with Zenk. This win over Koko gives Zenk heel credibility and also gets his new finisher over The KOTR brackets are set. I'm very curious with what happens with Jake and Andre. Meanwhile, Flair is fired up and more confident than ever. Warlord gets a big time win over OMG but takes a brutal beating from Slick's army. Warlord may need some back up I'll give it up to Lawler, the man knows how to get a win. I think him and Tito will have an intense program. Trust me, these two will deliver Wahoo gets an emotional sendoff and deserves it. Loved that passing of the torch moment with Tatanka. Wow, Backlund giving Nailz guidance will be must see TV. This is going to get crazy! I've always loved heel Terry Taylor. He plays the arrogant heel so well. After a chaotic match, the Nasties unify the titles. Welcome to Nastyville! Great show! Can't wait for KOTR!

Mike gives an awesome performance PCO gets the win but Richards showed he can get focused Speaking of focus, it seems the Sinister and Malenko sure got Wright to focus Hamrick and Kid give the fans a thriller The FOJ are tuned up and ready to regain their titles If Hart survives Adams, I'm sure Kawada is up next Cow Palace Malenko is on the rise while Douglas seems to be in a slump Candido gets through the crybaby chants MVC outfights the OWC Thrillseekers keep racking up the wins Cornette's racket is the difference maker. That's probably the only way to keep Cameron down Hart puts a stamp on Dibiase inside the cage. That's the kind of match lucky house show fans will be talking about for awhile Fresno SOB's are another team looking for title opportunities No doubt about it, Adams is ready for his shot Love that old school vs. new era tag match At least Severn was able to barely control himself Coast to Coast are in the midst of a solid reign. Cap another exciting weekend off with a successful Liger LHW title defense

Really cool concept. It's great seeing southern legends like Prichard and Rich in key roles Good use of the talent here. This would be a nice alternative from the National promotions. I liked the video packages. This is always a great way to introduce or reintroduce talent to the fans. Keep up the good work. It will be fun watching SMW's new era unfold.
-
I like this build up stage. Everybody gets to shine and look strong as Superbrawl approaches. Jesse wasn't lying when he said he was bringing in the best talent from around the world

Another great and unpredictable week in the WWF I really wonder what Jake's true intentions are. Is it all about Flair? Or is it a long diabolical plan to get to the world title? I can't wait to find out Flair's pissed and will always find a way to stay in the world title picture. Declaring himself for the KOTR proves this I'm kinda hoping Lawler beats Beefcake because I would love to see a Tito/Lawler world title program After getting bested by Bad News Brown, Slick seems to have rebounded well with a strong army I'm a sucker for the grizzled vets, so aligning Orton and Valentine got a pop from me The Fantastics have some serious momentum going but can they handle a trip to Nastyville. Heel Z-Man is great. Hart bringing out his dark side will be an interesting story to watch If Warrior is passing the torch, I can't think of a better person than the Titan. I always loved deranged Backlund. I can only hope he gets an IC title run. Think of all those great promos as champion The commentary was spot on. Hearing Gorilla, Alfred and Gene really brings back memories.
-
Morton was already over but bringing out an Easter basket with candy will really get him mega over. What a guy Speaking of getting over, the Crazies are becoming favorites This is the ideal spot for the Nightmares. A chaotic ending is always a fun way to end the show.

It's really great to have SMW back in our game. You definitely have the territory down. The heels work so well here. The Russians, IRS, Dutch and of course Wright. These guys are perfect territory heels and will all get good heat. On the flip side, you have the classic fired up babyfaces like Horner and the Southern Boys. At this point in time, Steve Austin is the right choice to lead SMW. This early feud with Dutch will get him massively over. It may seem like a minor detail, but banning the piledriver can set up something interesting with Orndorff It'll be fun to see how Jarrett does here. He's been used to wrestling in Memphis under his dad, so we'll see how he adapts to Armstrong world Wright is a crack up. It's really good seeing him back in the game. Poor guy is just a little down on his luck and needs some help. I encourage all the good people to send money for his medical procedures. Bullet Bob has already made his presence known. Bottom line is he's the boss. Great start Kev.

If Severn's in beast mode, watch out! Modest looks to stand out in single's competition Good to see the FOJ back on the winning track I have to hand it to Richards; he's become quite focused. Maybe Candido should take notes SOB get a good showcase and I'm sure Cornette and the FBI were watching Lee gets a prime time win over a former champ Busick has done extremely well in our world Portland Smooth heel move by Richards Eddie's determined on staying in title contention Big win for Gordy as he takes down the man of means. However, if Dibiase is talking revenge, Gordy better stay on high alert Martel's a nice guy but is never afraid to play the heels game when needed. I'm really liking this program with Condrey Credit to the FBI for giving Iron and Steel a fight Both Kawada and Adams shine against the champ. Adams gets the fall and the next shot but I'm sure Kawada will get another chance as well. Eugene The Serial Thrillaz seem to be getting the upper hand on the Money Train Malenko looked good but that onslaught by Williams sealed the deal If Sabu's on the card, the fans now know they're going to see something insane Regal's getting into his groove as the submission champ Severn's not only in beast mode but he's ready to snap Liger once again caps off the weekend with an always exciting LHW title match. Vegas Vengeance is loaded. Is it crazy that I'm rooting for Scotty and Richards to win this year's tournament?

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 4-10-91 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Champagne Slam is only one week away and a new AWA world champion will be crowned that night. We'll be hearing more comments from the remaining contenders, including the former world champ, Hulk Hogan. A lot of in ring action tonight. The British Bombers will face the Guerreros. Latin Desire will clash with TCB. And Gama Singh will defend the AWA TV title against the Equalizer. Ok, let's get to the action. Latin Desire vs. TCB w/Jackie Thanks to Jackie's distraction, TCB get an early jump and take control. They put Lou down with a double back elbow smash. Walker follows with a hanging suplex and tags in Jones. Jones comes off the middle ropes with a knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. TCB continue to control until Walker goes for a back drop but Lou leapfrogs over and comes back with a flying dropkick. Lou rolls over and tags in Al. Al pounds away on Walker, swings him to the ropes and puts him down with a flying forearm blast. Jones comes in but Al back drops him. Al tags in Lou, they swing Walker to the ropes and double dropkick him down. Lou covers 1..2..Jones breaks it. Things escalate into a pier six brawl. Jackie gets on the apron. The Ref is distracted with her. Cheers as the RPMs hit the ring! They pound away on Jones and hurl him over the top rope. RPMs head out. This leaves Walker all alone as Al executes his helicopter drop. Lou picks up Walker and hits a bridging back suplex. The Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! Jackie's yelling at the Ref but he doesn't really listen. Commercial Break We see a montage of Mil Mascaras highlights. He'll be facing Carlos Colon for the AWA International title at Champagne Slam. Mr. Saito and Shinya Hashimoto vs. Arnie Goldstein and Maurice Thorpe Hashimoto chops his opponent down, hoists him up and drops him with a brainbuster. Hashimoto tags in Saito. Saito finishes things off with his Saito suplex. Larry Nelson announces that per Commissioner Magnum TA, Hashimoto and Saito will be barred from Market Square Arena next week at Champagne Slam. Commercial Break Champagne Slam Promos The Hangman is standing there with his hands gripped around his noose. Nell: The Hangman's time has come. Now, more than ever, the AWA needs a champion of his caliber. Tommy Jammer, unfortunately you're the next poor soul in our way. You have a carefree spirit because you're lost. You will meet your demise at Champagne Slam. I do have pity for the winners that night because they will have to face the reckoning. Next week, everybody will know the truth. The Hangman is for real. Tommy Jammer: Since SuperClash, I have never been more focused in my life. Nell had some ominous words for me but let me enlighten you Nell. If I'm surfing the beaches in Cali and wipe out, I get back on the board and ride that next wave brother. I've rode the biggest waves in the world and I'm going to ride the wave all the way to the world title! Hangman, I'm going through you to get there. Konnan: I've already proven I'm the greatest wrestler to come out of Mexico and now I'm going to prove I'm the best wrestler in the AWA! It's my time and I'm taking it. Leo Burke, you're not in my league. You're washed up, you're getting old. You're going down and I'm the one who will be wearing the world title at the end of the night! It's my time! Leo Burke: The young guys always love underestimating me but yet here I am, in the thick of the world title hunt. Who knows, this might be my last shot for the world title. Which is why I've been training harder than ever. Konnan says it's his time. I disagree, It's my time! Bobby Blaze: Everybody's calling me the underdog and I'm ok with that. The odds have always been against me but I thrive on that. Gerry Morrow seems more interested in his issues with Hulk Hogan. Big mistake Morrow because Bobby Blaze is coming in full throttle and you're going to have to deal with that. Commercial Break The British Bombers vs. The Guerreros This feud's been heating up and it shows tonight. As soon as the bell rings, both teams brawl to the outside and get counted out. They continue to fight into the commercial break. Commercial Break The Bunkhouse Boys vs. Neil Jordan and Trent Watkins Bunkhouse Boys pummel their opponents and finish things off with a spiked piledriver! Hold on! Dick Slater and Ron Garvin hit the ring and give the Bunkhouse Boys a pounding. The Boys roll out of the ring and stagger their way up the aisle. Slater and Garvin go to ringside. Slater: Those boys don't know what they're dealing with! Commercial Break Nelson: I'm here with Tommy Rich, who apparently has something to say. Rich: Watch it Larry. I don't like your tone. You need to show respect to the real AWA world champion. This tournament is just a stupid formality. At Champagne Slam, I'm beating up that imposter Chump Hogan and then I'm winning the battle royal to get back what I never lost in the first place, the AWA world title. Boos as Gerry Morrow walks out. Morrow: Mr. Rich, I would like to discuss business with you in private. I think you will be very pleased. Rich: Gerry, you're a class act. Lead the way. Morrow and Rich leave. Nelson: I can't imagine what that is all about but I don't like it one bit. Commercial Break AWA TV Title Bout Gama Singh (C) vs. The Equalizer Singh is able to use his speed to take Equalizer down and work the leg. Equalizer finally reaches the ropes and Gama breaks. Equalizer quickly rakes Gama's eyes and clubs him down. Equalizer limps around then stomps down on Gama. Equalizer swings Gama to the ropes and clotheslines him down. Equalizer picks up Gama and gives him a vicious backbreaker. Equalizer still holds on to Gama and delivers 2 more backbreakers 1..2..Gama barley gets his arm up. Equalizer swings Gama into the corner and charges in with a running shoulder thrust. Equalizer grabs Gama's head and tosses him across the ring. Gama staggers up and falls back against the turnbuckles. Equalizer charges in with a high knee but Gama falls down and out of the way as Equalizer crashes knee first into the turnbuckles. Both men slowly rise. Gama dropkicks Equalizer into the corner. Gama shakes the cobwebs, hops up and monkey flips Equalizer over. Gama goes to the top rope. Equalizer staggers up with a limp as Gama nails him with a missile dropkick. Gama then applies the Indian Deathlock and wrenches away. Equalizer submits. Gama holds his TV title high as the fans cheer. Commercial Break Hulk Hogan is standing in front of an AWA banner. Hogan: It all comes down to Champagne Slam. I've scaled and conquered Mount AWA before and I'm on the verge of doing it again. Oh yea brother, Hulkamania has suffered some setbacks. First from that no good Ric Flair and his horsemen goons. The Hulkamaniacs prevailed at War Games but there was another dirty dog lying in the weeds. The dirtiest, lowest piece of scum on the earth, Gerry Morrow. Hulkamania was faced with another band of goons but they didn't finish the job! Here I am, heading to Champagne Slam and the chance to get the world title back. Hulk Hogan has one goal and one goal only, the regain the AWA world title brother! Tommy Rich! I've been hearing you run your mouth and I'll be more than happy to shut it, beat you and steamroll over you to get to that battle royal. And Gerry Morrow, you better pray we don't cross paths at Champagne Slam because if we do, Hulkamania is going to run wild on you like I've never ran wild before. At the end of the night, Hulkamania will be standing strong on top of Mount AWA! Friday, April 17th Market Square Arena Live on pay per view AWA World Title Tournament Bouts 'The Modern Day Warrior' Kerry Von Erich vs. Iceman Parsons w/Jackie El Canek vs. Jumbo Tsuruta The Magnificent Muraco vs. Kokina w/Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie The Big Bossman vs. 'The Rocker' Shawn Michaels The Hangman w/Nell vs. 'Tidal Wave' Tommy Jammer Konnan vs. Leo Burke 'Champagne' Gerry Morrow w/Brenda Britton vs. Bobby Blaze Hulk Hogan vs. Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich The Winners will advance to the battle royal. The last man standing will be the new AWA World Champion Also AWA International Title Bout Carlos Colon (C) vs. Mil Mascaras AWA World Tag Team Title Bout Dick Slater and Ron Garvin (C) vs. The Bunkhouse Boys (Jimmy Golden and Sam Houston)

Jerry Flynn's name looks to be on the rise The Koslowskis have an iron grip on the tag titles. I could see them main eventing a show in the near future. I agree, this might be Onita's year. Han getting a submission win over Fujinami is a big deal. I would love to see a Takada/Ogawa rematch Big title defense for Maeda. No wonder this event sold out. I love the behind the scenes news especially getting more insight on the near riot. Very interesting.

Ventura's hell bent on making WCW the top promotion in the world It takes a lot to shut Paul E up, but Ventura accomplished it Good showcases from all the top talent this week Sid vs. Sting at Superbrawl. Bring it on!

Richards seems to be slowly but surely getting there while Candido seems to be slowly losing it. Douglas wants to get back on track No doubt that Lighting Kid will be a top LHW contender in the months to come I'm a huge Rick Martel fan but that Condrey/Cornette finish was heel brilliance Thrillseekers are working their way to a title shot Vancouver Watch out, Kawada's on another rampage PCO and Finlay are probably already thinking about their next fight The bulldozer gets planted by Dr. Death. Is Dibiase next? With the roll Busick's been on, props to Eddie for taking him to the limit Man, if you're in the mood for a great tag brawl, then Iron and Steel vs. the OWC is right up your alley Hart retains but RVD will get some good buzz from this Kelowna Scorpio needed a win and got it The fans must be blown away by Sabu. He's nuts Hamrick gets a confidence boosting win over Snow I'm sure Regal's enjoying his victories over Wright Coast to Coast gets another one over on the FOJ Liger once again caps off an exciting weekend with another thrilling performance

Oh man! A lot going down in the WWF. I couldn't believe it! Ric Flair showed up! WOOOOO! And of course gets himself in the world title picture right away Flair's arrival was huge but Gary Hart showing up was pretty damn big as well. His association with Zenk will be very interesting I'm liking the resurgence of Bob Orton. The tag team division is insane right now. Zenk leaves High Energy. Herc turns on Warlord and gets back with Roma. And the Fantastics throw everything out of whack by winning the titles ahead of the unification bout Loved all the promos. You're fleshing out their gimmicks and characters well. The Nailz promo was intense Beefcake vs. Lawler is a good program and the Genius is a fun way to elevate it. Earthquake puts down the hammer but Duggan awaits It was only a day but Tito and Flair get a damn good build up. Hey, these two can deliver and did. I could just feel Flair's annoyance with Jake and it costed him dearly as Santana scores the huge win to retain. I really thought Flair was going to walk right in and win the title. Nice swerve. Fun house shows especially with an unhinged Bob Backlund return. Tito's title run is off to a rock'n start! Great job setting up your direction. You're right, anything can happen in the WWF right now.

The winner of the battle royal will be the new AWA world champion. History will be made on April 17th in Indianapolis at Champagne Slam. Commercial Break We get some Champagne Slam promos Kerry Von Erich: My goal has always been to become AWA world champion, I'm one step closer and at Champagne Slam I plan on going all the way! Iceman Parsons: Kerry Von Erich! You're just an obstacle on my way to the title! I'm taking you down Rooty-Poo and I'm the one who's going to be standing tall at the end! Jackie: That's right baby! The Tribal Nation vs. Los Boricuas These two teams want to get in title contention and this is their chance to shine. Tribal Nation have been in the AWA for a while and have worked their way to some title shots but have come up short. Los Boricuas debuted a couple months ago and tonight will be their toughest test. The match goes back and forth with clean but aggressive wrestling. Both teams display incredible teamwork and chemistry. Tribal Nation take control and almost get the win with stereo double tomahawk chops from opposite turnbuckles but Perez manages to survive. Mark hoists Perez up for an atomic drop but as Perez is in the air, he's able to reach out and tag in Castillo. Mark atomic drops Perez but Castillo dropkicks Mark from behind. Castillo works over Mark and tags in Perez. Castillo suplexes Mark as Perez hits a sling shot splash 1..2..3! Chris comes in a second too late. Big win for Los Boricuas. The Tribal Nation are clearly disappointed. Commercial Break More Champagne Slam promos El Canek: (subtitles) I've been one step away from the AWA world title before but now it's time to go all the way! Jumbo Tsuruta (also subtitles) I've been the world champion once and I will be champion again! AWA 6-Man Champs Austin's Idols w/ Austin Idol vs. Vic Dutro, Neil Jordan and Willie Lopez Storm mows down Jordan with a spear. Young follows with a tornado DDT and Santana easily finishes things off with a flying elbow from the top rope! The champs hold up their titles as Idol applauds. Nelson: Austin Idol, your men didn't fare to well in the tournament? What.. Idol: Hold on just a minute darling. My Idols might not have advanced in the tournament as solos but together they're a well oiled machine and there isn't three men in the AWA that can beat my united champions! And that's a fact Jack! Commercial Break We again see a huge metal door. Inside we hear that electric buzzing sound followed by a man screaming. Man 1: What is your name? Man 2: (breathing hard) Makhan Singh The electric buzzing hits followed by screams Man 1: What is your name? Man 2: (slowly answers) Makhan Singh The electric buzzing hits as the man screams again Fade to black More Champagne Slam Promos Magnificent Muraco: The Magnificent One has been through it all in the AWA and now I have a massive roadblock with Kokina in my way. I've been through hell already so Kokina, get ready to go through it with me! Adnan Kassie: Muraco! You are no match for the great Kokina! You're doomed! Kokina is destined to be the AWA world champion! Kokina lets out a roar! Commercial Break AWA National Tag Team Title Bout The Heavenly Bodies (C) vs. The Rock n Roll RPMs The opening minutes are fast paced and actioned packed! Both teams show off their speed, agility and high octane offense. Bodies get control and work over Lane. Del Ray puts Lane down with a flying dropkick and Prichard follows with a swinging neckbreaker 1..2..Davis breaks it. Moments later, Davis ducks a double clothesline and comes back to double clothesline the Bodies down. Davis tags in Lane. Lane cleans house and the RPMs make a comeback. Lane tags in Davis and they double hot shot Del Ray on the top rope 1..2..Prichard makes the save. We get a pier six brawl. As the Ref is tied up with Prichard and Lane, TCB hit the ring and give Davis a double rib breaker. Jackie leads TCB back up the aisle. Del Ray rolls over and puts his arm across Davis's chest as the Ref turns around and counts 1..2..3! BOOOOOOOO! Heavenly Bodies retain! Commercial Break Champagne Slam promos Shawn Michaels: Shawn Michaels! AWA World champion! Boy, does that have a great ring to it. Bossman, you couldn't beat me on my worst day. I'm taking care of you and then it's time to get what I deserve, the AWA world title! Big Bossman: Law, order and justice is what being a champion is all about! I came here to win the world title and that's what I'm going to do. Shawn Michaels! You're about to serve hard time! Nelson: Fans, you will see a new AWA world champion crowned at Champagne Slam. Next week we will hear from the remaining contenders including Gerry Morrow and the immortal Hulk Hogan, I can... Boos as Tommy Rich walks out. Rich: Hold up Larry. You, me and all these idiots out here know there's only one name worth mentioning when it comes to the AWA world title. I'm talking about Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich! Hey, I never lost that title to begin with, so I really am the undisputed world champ. But whatever, I'll be a good boy and just win it back at Champagne Slam. I hear I'll be facing that wannabe champ Chump Hogan in the first round. Nelson: You are correct. (smirks) Pretty big task ahead for you Wildfire. Rich: Don't get smart with me Nelson! Listen up Chumpster! What exactly are you going to do when the Wildfire runs wild on you! Nelson: (rolls his eyes) On that note, see you next week.

Battle Royals can be hard to write up but man you nailed it. I liked that the entire show was dedicated to it. PnP added some great drama. Even though he didn't win, this really got Williams over with the fans. We'll see if Hotbody can fare better than Pretty Boy. I'm sure Morton and Wild Dog drew a big crowd at the Armory.
-
I agree with AD, the house show format is perfect for the time. Man, Murdoch really sabotaged himself while Warrior has calmed down and worked things out

AWA News It's been leaked out that Hulk Hogan's contract is set to expire soon. Word is that Verne Gagne and Hogan have been involved in several meetings. Verne knows that Hogan has taken the AWA to heights never seen before. His merchandise has made a phenomenal amount of money. With Hogan's help, the AWA has been able to bring in celebrities from all genres to major events. Hogan's main events have sold out arenas everywhere. His year long world title reign was a massive success. His matches with Ric Flair drew huge money and the War Games blow off sold out the Mecca in a matter of hours. And with the AWA's biggest event of the year, WrestleRock coming in July, Verne really wants to get things worked out. Things seem to be going in the right direction but Hogan has been free to discuss other offers. We'll definitely get a sense of the AWA's direction after Champagne Slam. Word is that Hogan was promised another reign after dropping the title to Flair. Originally, after the SuperClash controversy, Hogan and Flair were to meet in a third match at Champagne Slam, where Hogan would regain the title. However, plans unexpectedly changed when Flair and Verne weren't able to come to a contract agreement and Flair departed. Hogan's been very cooperative in his recent feud with Gerry Morrow but made it crystal clear that he wants another run with the title. In other news, the AWA has worked out a very special deal with Mil Mascaras. He will appear in an International title match at Champagne Slam against Carlos Colon, with more dates scheduled. The talks went back and forth and after long hours, an agreement was finally made. It appears that the AWA wants to shake things up in the tag team scene. There is talk of unifying the world and national tag titles and putting a lot of emphasis on the 6-Man titles. Recently, all the focus has been on the world title tournament. After that concludes at Champagne Slam, the build to WrestleRock starts. Unsettled feuds will continue and new programs will start. There's been talk of a special gauntlet match to decide who gets the coveted world title shot at WrestleRock.

Jannetty seems to have found a suitable tag partner Splash off a giant's shoulders is always a cool visual Pretty Wonderful is rising the rankings After a good build, RnR caps things off with a title win! Trouble brewing on Bad Street Good call having Nikita and Dustin get the win. This will piss off the Dangerous Alliance and bring in more heat The Body is running things now and already makes a controversial call with the US title. The wrestlers will have to learn Jesse's logic. Sting reenergizes the fans OOOOOOHHHH what a rush! The Road Warriors are back! LOD vs Doom will be money! Davey looked strong. Owen makes his return but, in the end, Sid still rules the world. Well, at least for now because Sting's back in the hunt.

Scotty's proving to be a solid mentor to Richards. This experiment might work after all PCO gets a nice showcase Man, Kawada's even more dangerous now. That's scary I'll give the OWC props, they're not backing down but I have a feeling the MVC are going to want to finish them off once and for all. Stormfront is looking to regain momentum Regal gets a satisfying submission win but it didn't come easy LA SOB's put down the FBI but I know this isn't over Malenko gets a decisive win Yea, Williams and Gordy better finish off the OWC so they can focus on Dibiase and Lee Bigelow keeps racking up wins, putting the champs on notice I never thought the Midnights could lose the Trios titles but the Brigade puts an end to their epic reign Oh yea! I've been waiting for Hart/Kawada! The match didn't disappoint and with that finish, we're going to get more Santa Barbara Money Train get a confidence building win Damn, even in defeat, the fans will be talking about Sabu's risks Dragon's tuning up for his big shot Martel and Eddie give the fans a classic Coast to Coast is in total sync Liger ends the night in exciting fashion

After that, the brackets will be set for Champagne Slam, which takes place on Friday, April 17th at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. Ok, let's get to the tournament! AWA World Title First Round Tournament Match Bobby Blaze vs. AWA 6-Man champ Ricky Santana w/Austin Idol Idol struts out of the ring as the Ref signals for the bell. Santana arrogantly pushes Blaze. Blaze comes back and pushes Santana down to the mat. An irate Santana gets up and charges but Blaze hip tosses him over. Santana hops up and charges again but Blaze back drops him. Santana staggers up as Blaze dropkicks him down. Blaze picks up Santana and snap suplexes him 1..2..Kick Out. Blaze continues to work Santana over until a distraction from Idol allows Santana to send Blaze through the ropes with a double axehandle to the back. Santana distracts the Ref as Idol slams Blaze's head on the apron and hurls him back into the ring. Santana swings Blaze to the ropes and puts him down with a flying back elbow smash 1..2..Kick Out. Santana slams Blaze, goes to the middle ropes and crashes down with a knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Santana swings Blaze to the ropes and hits a flying press 1..2..Kick Out. Both Idol and Santana argue with the Ref, saying his counts are too slow. Santana swings Blaze to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Blaze kicks Santana. Both men are reeling. Santana staggers up as Blaze grabs Santana and slams him down. Blaze swings off the ropes but Idol trips him. Blaze staggers then turns around and goes out after Idol. Blaze chases Idol around the ring. Blaze gets back in the ring. Santana goes for a clothesline but Blaze ducks, turns around, kicks Santana and executes the Northern Lights Suplex 1..2..3! Big Pop! Bobby Blaze is going to Champagne Slam! Rich turns around as Davis cradles him 1..2..Rich frantically kicks out. Davis is all over Rich. He swings Rich to the ropes and dropkicks him down. Davis swings off the ropes and hits a jumping elbow drop 1..2..Kick Out. Davis clamps on a headlock and punches away on the top of Rich's head. Davis wrenches the headlock and hits a running bulldog 1..2..Kick Out. Davis swings Rich to the ropes but misses a clothesline, Rich swings back but he misses a clothesline, Davis swings back and goes for a dropkick but Rich grabs the ropes as Davis hits the mat. Rich regroups, picks up Davis and hot shots him on the top rope. Rich swings Davis to the ropes and hits the Thesz Press 1..2..3! Rich rolls out of the ring and falls to the ground. Welcome to the WWF Great job picking up right where AD left off. The WrestleMania follow up was well done and looks like a lot of exciting things ahead with SNME and KOTR. LOL, King comes in and immediately irks Gorilla. Loved the way they played off each other The Killer Bees look to get back in title contention with a big win over the Pitbulls. Uncle Ivan isn't a happy man right now Excellent contrasting promos with Jake setting an evil tone while Tito celebrates his feel good title win Looks like the machine is behind Titan. Somebody must've caught his action in the territories. Orton and Tatanka will be a solid feud. The cowboy veteran vs. The young Native American powerhouse. It sells itself Damn! Jake didn't waste any time in finding a man who wants to hurt people. Shocking moment as Andre turns on Snuka to join the dark side After a rough feud, Dynamite saves Benoit and patches things up. Respect. Nice house show loop. You're reestablishing some stars while giving the champs showcases to settle into their reigns. Very smooth transition. The WWF hasn't lost a step.

It's WrestleMania!!! Let's do this one last time brother! The Free for All was action packed and I'm sure got some last minute buys The 6-Man elimination match was a great way to kick off the show. This feud was built up well. Dynamite standing tall as the sole survivor really gets the fans invested right off the bat. Regis worked so well with the Snake interview. Manny made it easy for Murdoch to choose a side. Excellent finish LOL, leave it to Lawler to start a massive brawl at Mania. Anything to keep his crown Duggan and Debeers didn't need a lot of build. Their gimmicks are enough to make this a grudge match. Duggan gets the win for USA Earthquake vs. Billy Jack was exactly the power match it was meant to be. Quake retains Fantastics came to fight but damn, that Nasty finish was definitely a Mania moment Tito's ready for his big shot. Solid promo that showed emotion. Bad News for Slick as Brown finally gets his satisfaction on the grand stage. That was well worth the wait. The Twin Towers end the impressive reign of Ronin. I'll give Warrior a lot of credit for beating the count after a DDT on the concrete. But a second one was just too much to handle. Huge win for the Snake. What a way to end Mania as Tito defeats that crazy Funk to win the WWF title. Tito's having a career year and deserved to win the title. Well my friend, you went out with a bang. Thank you for all your hard work and positive feedback. You will be truly missed. Good luck with your future projects. It's been a great ride.
