TNT Wrestling TV @ The Roanne Fieldhouse, Memphis TN 10-18-84 Footage is shown from last week's show as Tully Blanchard and Buddy Landel put a beating on Curt Hennig with a chair! Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of TNT wrestling here on the USA Network. Loaded show tonight as the Fabulous Ones will defend the AWA Southern tag team titles against Johnny Valiant's Blonde Bombers. Big 6 man tag match as DJ Peterson, Mike Shaw and Denny Brown take on the trio of Carl Fergie, Gary Young and Art Crews. Non title match as TNT champs Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis take on the Real Deal. And Austin Idol will defend the TV title against The Dream Machine. All that and a lot more. Right now I want to show you some pre recorded comments from the Hennig household. Commissioner Larry 'The Axe' Hennig is standing in his living room. Larry: Tully Blanchard! I'm here at home because of you! I was ok with that when I found out Curt was coming in to TNT. I was ok with the two of you settling things with a fight. He beats you and then what do you do? On TV you and Landel attack him! Real tough guys! 2 on 1. Well Buddy Landel, since you're so eager to get in on this, you'll will love this announcement just as much as Tully. The doctor's have cleared me. I now want to resign as Commissioner! That's right! The boots are coming back on! I've talked with Jerry Jarrett and next week you 2 punks are getting into the ring with myself and my son! Curt walks in. Curt: You heard him! Next week my Dad the Axe and myself get the 2 of you in the ring! Get ready because the Hennig's are coming and we're coming for a fight! Lance: How about that. Next week the Hennig's return and will clash with Tully Blanchard and Buddy Landel. That will be a wild one I'm sure. Fans lets kick things off with a non title tag team bout. TNT Tag Team Champs Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis vs. The Real Deal (Scott McGhee and Ricky Vaughn) McGhee and Vaughn start of gelling well as they work the champs over with quick tags and high offensive maneuvers. That comes to a halt when Murdoch nails Vaughn from the apron with a forearm smash and Adonis follows with a back elbow smash. Adonis and Murdoch take over and dominate for awhile but still cant them away. Vaughn eventually gets the hot tag to McGhee and McGhee is a house of fire. Adonis turns things around with a knee to the mid section and Murdoch follows with a gut wrench suplex. The champs control again but cant put McGhee down. A pier six brawl breaks out. Real Deal double back drop Adonis and send Murdoch over the top rope with a double clothesline. Ding Ding Ding! The 10 minute time limit expires. Adonis rolls out of the ring. Him and Murdoch regroup and are furious and embarrassed. The fans cheer as the Real Deal are in the ring pumping their fists. The Real Deal opened a lot of eyes today as they take the veteran TNT champs to a draw. Commercial Break Lance: I would have to say that was a moral victory for The Real Deal... Adonis and Murdoch storm the podium. Adonis: Shut up Lance! Those two punks are the luckiest punks walking the earth! Talk about a fluke! Murdoch: Fluke is right! You punks want a fight? You got one! We want them again and hell we'll put these titles on the line! Adonis: Next time you boys wont be standing up at all! Lance: Ok, a challenge has been made. I'm sure the Real Deal wont have a problem accepting a title match. Back to the ring. Roosevelt Jones vs. Trent Watkins Jones shocked everyone last week when he attacked George Wells and pledged his allegiance to the Movement. Jones is in full heel mode tonight as he kicks, stomps, slams and chokes the life out of Trent. Jones slams Trent's head on the turnbuckle several times then delivers a jumping headbutt to get the pin! Jones picks up Trent, headbutts him again and hurls him out of the ring. Jones stands in the middle of the ring and raises his fist as the fans boo. Commercial Break A music montage video is shown of Rick Martel in the ring. Lance: Yes fans, I'm excited to announce that Rick Martel is coming to TNT. Exciting news! Back to the ring. Jumbo Tsuruta w/Gene Anderson vs. Gary Williams Jumbo just demolishes his opponent. Jumbo swings Williams to the ropes and nails him with a big boot to the head. Jumbo hoists Williams up and finishes him off with the Powerbomb! Gene leads Jumbo to the podium. Gene: All day long, all I've heard about is Rick Martel. Oh yea TNT gives him a nice little video package and seems to be rolling out the red carpet for him. Why!? The true superstar in TNT is standing right here. Jumbo Tsuruta! Make no bones about it, Martel's stay in TNT will be a short one because Jumbo Tsuruta is going to make an example out of him and prove who the superior wrestler is! Commercial Break DJ Peterson/'Mountain' Mike Shaw/ 'Downtown' Denny Brown vs. 'Cool' Carl Fergie/'Gorgeous' Gary Young/'The Ace' Art Crews Chaos right off the bat as all 6 men go at it before the bell even rings! Denny drop kicks Crews out of the ring. DJ body slams Fergie. Shaw clotheslines Young over the top rope. DJ goes to the top rope. Fergie staggers up and DJ nails him with a flying shoulder tackle! Shaw swings off the ropes and splashes Fergie! Young and Crews grab Fergie by his feet and yank him out of the ring then help him to the back. The fans are cheering as DJ, Shaw and Denny stand tall. Official Ruling- No Contest Commercial Break Lance: Well that match never officially started but DJ, Shaw and Denny certainly won the fight. Joining me now are the Kansas Jayhawks. Boys, you got a big win over the Cuban Assassins last week and that should put you right back in line for a tag team shot at either of the titles. Boos as The Roughnecks (Killer Brooks/Bob Sweetan) come out. The Roughnecks insult the Jayhawks and tell them they had their title opportunity and blew it! They tell the Jayhawks to get lost because the Roughnecks should be in line for a title shot. Jayhawks fire back and say they've been on top of the tag team scene for a long time and are always in contention and if the Roughnecks have a problem with that we all can settle it in the ring. Tensions rise but no fists are thrown...yet. Lance: Whoa, that was a close one. I for one would like to see that match up. More tag team action as we go to the ring. Gino Brito and Tony Parisi vs. Vic Dutro and William Hillman Brito and Parisi are in sync tonight and look sharp. Brito tags in Parisi. Brito body slams Hillman and Parisi follows with the Cannonball Senton to get the pin! Brito and Parisi raise their arms in victory when WHAM! They're nailed from behind by Ted and Jerry Oates along with Gene Anderson! Gene is shouting instructions as the Oates to take it to them. They hurl Parisi out of the ring then hit Brito with a double suplex. Ted grabs Brito's arm and holds it while twisting. Parisi tries to get back in the ring but Jerry kicks him back down. Jerry gets on the top rope. Ted holds Brito's arm while Jerry crashes down with a knee drop on the arm! Gene leads the Oates Brothers to the podium. Gene: The Anderson unit is back and running on all cylinders! I warned everybody and especially those wimps in the ring, that I wasn't done with them. I have myself a team and what's a better unit than family? The Andersons wreaked havoc for years because we were family. Well now I have the Oates Wrecking Crew and mark my words the destruction that Ole and I caused will carry on because the Oates Wrecking Crew have arrived and TNT better watch out! Lance: Well, this has indeed been quite the night for Gene Anderson and his unit. I know Brito and Parisi wont take this lying down. I hope Brito is ok after that attack on his arm. Commercial Break Mr. Wrestling 3 w/Mr. Wrestling 2 vs. Sean Smith Every since Mr. Wrestling 3 bestowed the name and mask upon Jessie Barr, he's been racking up some impressive wins. Tonight is no different as Mr. Wrestling 3 gets the pin after the Million Dollar Kneelift! The fans cheer as they head to the podium. Mr. Wrestling 2: Lance, as you've noticed, Mr. Wrestling 3 has been on a roll of late. I've been mentoring him and we have been patient and I have no doubt in my mind, Mr. Wrestling 3 is ready for a title match. Lance: I would have to agree with Mr. Wrestling 2. Back to the ring. Cocoa Samoa vs. Stu Jersky Now that Cocoa has finally put an end to his feud with Ratamyus and his monsters, he looks refreshed and rejuvenated. Cocoa works Stu over with hip tosses and drop kicks and puts him away with an impressive flying body press from the top rope! Commercial Break AWA Southern Tag Team Title Bout The Fabulous Ones (C) vs. The Blonde Bombers w/Johnny Valiant Everybody is in the ring and exchanging words while the Ref holds up the titles. Valiant tells the Fabs their reign comes to an end tonight. Bombers attack at the bell but the Fabs fight back. Lane and Grey fight in one corner while Keirn and Regal fight in the opposite corner. The Fabs swing the Bombers into each other. Bombers collide and stumble back. The Fabs hit double atomic drops and the Bombers smash into each other. The Ref gets control. The Fabs work over Grey as they tag in and out. Keirn hits a backbreaker and Lane follows with a standing leg drop 1..2..Regal breaks it. Keirn goes after Regal but the Ref guides him back allowing Regal to clip Lane from behind. Grey staggers up, grabs Lane by his hair and rams his head on Regal's boot then tags in Regal. They double slam Lane and Regal follows with a jumping elbow drop 1..2..Lane gets his foot on the rope. Regal chokes Lane on the ropes. Grey holds lane while Regal swings off the ropes and hits Lane with a body guillotine. Regal suplexes Lane and tags in Grey. Grey comes off the top rope with a flying elbow drop 1..2..Keirn breaks it. Grey tags in Regal. They swing Lane to the ropes but miss a double clothesline, Lane swings back and clotheslines the Bombers down then rolls over and tags in Keirn. Keirn goes to town as he hammers away on the Bombers! He back drops Grey and Grey rolls out of the ring. He drop kicks Regal. Valiant hops on the apron and Keirn knocks him off! Keirn picks up Regal and swings him around for a body slam but Regal's boot hits the Ref and the Ref goes down. Keirn slams down Regal then hops on the middle ropes and crashes down with a forearm drop. Keirn covers but the Ref is still down. Grey comes in but Lane fights him into the corner. Valiant is motioning to the back. Goldie Rogers comes out with a loaded towel. Keirn is trying to get the Ref up. Regal staggers up and nails Keirn from behind. Regal holds Keirn up as Rogers goes to the top rope with the loaded towel. Rogers leaps off but Keirn moves and Rogers nails Regal with the towel! Lane hurls Grey out of the ring and drags the Ref over as Keirn covers Regal 1..2..3! Huge Pop! The Fabs get their titles and hold them high. Valiant is having a fit! Lance: (smiling) Some turn of events as Goldie Roger's interference really backfired. The Fabulous Ones remain AWA Southern tag team champions. Well my guests at this time are Tully Blanchard and the Nature Boy Buddy Landel. Gentleman I'm sure you heard the announcement. You boys will face Larry and Curt Hennig, next week. Landel: Wipe that smile off your face Lance before we knock it off! Never in my life have I seen such sore losers well except maybe for the Armstrong's. Look, I've got a AWA world title bout with Ted Dibiase next month and I don't have time to deal with such cry babies like the Hennig's. Man Tully, this is deja vu. I swear they're just like the Armstrong's. Go down to Continental sometime and you wont believe it. I'm telling you. Tully: Buddy, I truly know what you're talking about. First that big ogre Larry Hennig couldn't handle my success so I took care of him. Then he sends his baby boy and we took care of him. It's over. We win! But no! They have Jerry Jarrett in their pockets and of course what the golden boy Henning's want they get. Well guess what? Next week this all ends. Buddy has bigger goals and so do I. Next week, we're going to make sure neither one of you ever sets foot in an AWA ring ever again. Lance: This arena better get ready because that's going to be one heated contest. I've just gotten word that next week we will have a TNT title match as Bill Dundee will defend the title against Cocoa Samoa. Big show indeed. Our TV title main event when we come back. Commercial Break TV Title Bout 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol (C) vs. The Dream Machine Dream Machine waits in the ring as the boos reign down on him. The fans roar as Joan Jett blasts on the speakers and Austin Idol makes his way out. The fans explode as Jerry Lawler hits the ring and just unloads on The Dream Machine! Lawler is relentless as he just pounds away on Dream Machine. Thundering boos as Bill Dundee hits the ring but Lawler turns around and nails him and proceeds to pound away on him! Dream Machine staggers up and nails Lawler. Lawler fights but 2 on 1 is catching up until Austin Idol has enough and hits the ring as the fans go crazy! WHAM! Idol nails Lawler!!!!!! The fans are shocked as Idol puts the boots to Lawler! Dundee and Dream pause. Idol stops stomping and looks at them. They all smile and hug! Idol picks up Lawler by his hair as Dundee and Dream punch away. Idol slams Lawler down and clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock! Dream Machine goes out and gets a chair. Dream Machine swings down and hits Lawler on his head, busting him open! Dream sets the chair on Lawler's head. Dundee climbs to the top rope and hits a Bombs Away on the chair, crushing Lawler's face! The Fabulous Ones and Cocoa Samoa hit the ring as Dundee, Idol and Dream casually roll out. The fans are still in shock. Lawler's face is a bloody mess as The Fabs and Cocoa call for medics. Lance: Fans, I don't know what to say. That was one of the most gruesome acts I've ever seen. Lawler is getting medical treatment as I speak. I hope to have some answers next week. After the show ends, the Rolling Stones Gimmie Shelter plays Wrestle Storm 84-November 30th-Memphis Coliseum!

The Freebirds have gone rogue in the AWA! Nobody is safe! Oh man Flowers doesn't want to get on Jake's bad side. He better start getting some wins LOL. Yamada would be an awesome contender to the LHW title. The Polish Prince looks ready for a shot at Piper. Hogan sends Nord packing! Larry Z is in serious trouble. Flowers bad luck continues as Chavo beats him. Billy Jack gets the fall on Slater as him and Texas Red get some redemption. I like that Taylor/Vachon finish. Clever. Guerreros retain against the Royal Family. Polish Prince gets the fall in a big 6 man tag. This sets Wiskowski up as a serious threat to Piper and the title.
-
What a surprise and treat for the fans as Andre shows up and wins a battle royal! Rich turns back the challenge of Rogers. Super Destroyers are rock'n the titles! Great feuds going with Slaughter/Koloff and Duggan/Sawyer. Scott Hall gets an impressive win over Stevens. Miller and Oliver beat RnR for the titles! Oh wait, RnR get them back the next night! We've got a true fight for the titles going on. Dibiase has a long list of challengers here. I would love to see Wildfire Rich go for it.
-
Looking forward to Johnson/Patterson! Great job in making this a heat filled feud. Very good promos. Andre is the king of battle royals and chalks up another one. Backlund seems even more dangerous since losing the title. His rematch with Magnum will be money! I would of paid a lot of money to watch a Road Warriors/Samoans match in 1984. Like the direction your going here.
-
LOL, Mucho Macho was just to much fun. Loved it! Also, great pay off as Gino uses this to his advantage on Savage. Very cool to see Valentine moving back up in the main event scene. Mike Davis is on the roll of a lifetime. House of Humperdink has a strong threat and his name is Tony Atlas.
-
TNT will pick up Carlos Colon and Baby Doll. I will now withdraw from the draft.
-
TNT also picks up the Doctor of Desire Tom Prichard.
-
TNT selects Jerry Blackwell.
-
Oh man sorry for the looooooonnnnng delay. OK TNT will pick Rick Martel
-
Good seeing old Moose Morowski show up. Looking forward to one last run. Bulldogs lay the challenge down to the Assassins. Masks vs. contracts! So much on the line. Morgan vs. Gama will be a classic but watch out for Foley. Bad News gets the win but he might of made a huge mistake taking Hansen's cowboy hat. WOW! Orndorff beats Flair for the title! Icing on the cake as Orndorff gets to beat down on Heenan for 5 minutes. Orndorff will be a great champ. Wild 8 man tag as the faces get the big win. Good grief! That upcoming card at the Corral is stacked!

TNT Wrestling TV @ The Roanne Fieldhouse, Memphis TN 10-11-84 Show opens with a music video of Night of Champions Highlights. Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of TNT wrestling here on the USA Network. Well we just saw highlights of Night of Champions and we will be talking about that throughout the program. As for tonight's show, DJ Peterson takes on Carl Fergie. The Kansas Jayhawks will go at it with The Cuban Assassins. Mr. Wrestling 3 wrestles Ricky Vaughn of Real Deal and boy do we have a blockbuster main event as Curt Hennig goes up against Buddy Landel. Ok please welcome the new TNT champion along with the Dream Machine, here's Superstar Bill Dundee. The boos are deafening as Dundee and Dream brush them off. Lance: You guys caused quite a stir at Night of Champions. Thanks to Dream Machine's interference Bill you're the TNT champ and Jerry Lawler is at home healing. I have to ask what was that all about? Bill, you and Jerry are friends. I don't get why Dream did what he did. Dream: First off Lance, you need to congratulate the Superstar on his great championship victory! What's wrong with you?! Lance: (rolls his eyes) Congratulations Bill. Dream: That's more like it babay. The reason I did what I did is simple. I despise Jerry Lawler! He's nothing but a selfish glory hog! I was out of action for months and did he once call me? NO! You know who did? This man (pointing at Bill) and brother we had some long talks about Lawler. I saw everything he did to try and keep the Superstar down. I was fed up and there was no way in hell Lawler was walking out as champ. TNT needs a true hero to represent as champion. Bill Dundee is that hero. Lawler! You're now just a zero babay. Dundee: (pats the title on his shoulder) Thank you for the kind words Dream. You are a true friend. Unlike that selfish backstabbing lowlife Jerry Lawler. Lawler! You used me from the moment I arrived here. I helped you rid TNT of Jimmy Hart and his family. I had your back when you defeated Terry Funk for this here title and all I wanted was a fair title shot but no I had to beg you for the opportunity. Well guess what? I made my own opportunity and here I am brother...TNT Champ! Dream Machine holds up Dundee's arm while Dundee lifts up the title with his other arm as the fans give it to them. Lance: With Dream Machine watching his back, Dundee might be champ for awhile but I would sure hate to be them when The King returns. Fans let's go to the ring. Super Samoans (Tui and Sakalia) vs. Kent Jennings and Gary Williams Samoans arrived at Night of Champions and helped Cocoa Samoa finally put an end to his feud with Ratamyu's and gang. The fans are really behind this exciting team as Sakalia body slams Williams and Tui follows with a Superfly Splash for the pin! After the match, the Super Samoans cut a promo and say they're gunning for the TNT tag titles! Commercial Break George Wells vs. Teddy Freeman Wells looks great tonight as he's all over his opponent with slams and flying leg scissors. Wells swings Freeman to the ropes and nails him with a flying tackle to get the pin! The fans cheer as Wells heads to the podium. Lance: Great win tonight George. I know the Fabulous Ones were happy that you were there to help fight off Iceman Parsons after he interfered on behalf of the Movement. The Fabs got the DQ win but once again the Movement left town with the titles. Wells: I was happy to help. I don't know what's with..... Cheers as somebody walks out. Lance: Oh my, Special Delivery Jones! I wasn't expecting you. This is a nice surprise. Wells: SD! How are you brother? Jones: (Big smile) Doing outstanding! George, I'm here in TNT and you're the first person I wanted to greet. WHAM! Jones headbutts Wells! Lance: What the hell's going on?! Jones picks up Wells and puts him down with another headbutt! Wells is busted open. Jones picks up Wells and puts him down with a third headbutt! Officials storm out to help Wells. Jones grabs the mic out of Lance's hand and looks into the camera. Jones: For years I was told by promoters to put on a big smile and do some dancing around the ring. I was a damn joke! I was nothing but a puppet. I was ashamed of myself. Then I got a call from Tiger Conway Jr. and he open my eyes to the truth and told me I didn't have to be a puppet any longer. I left New York as fast as I could and met with The Movement. They are my true brothers, they are my family. George Wells is a puppet and we cant have him embarrassing us any longer. My name is Roosevelt Jones and I represent The Movement! Jones throws the mic at Lance and storms out. Commercial Break Lance: I'm at a loss for words after what just happened. I hope George will be ok. Well, lets get back to the ring. Mr. Wrestling 3 w/Mr. Wrestling 2 vs. Ricky Vaughn w/Scott McGhee Good technical bout going on between two fan favorites. The tide turns a few times as both men display some fine wrestling maneuvers. During some chain wrestling, Mr. Wrestling 3 goes flying through the ropes. Mr. Wrestling 2 goes over to encourage him. Vaughn gets a little heated about this and has words for Wrestling 2. Wrestling 2 nods and backs off. Vaughn is yelling at McGhee to throw him back in the ring. McGhee is puzzled by this and doesn't get involved. Vaughn has words with McGhee. Wrestling 3 gets on the apron. Vaughn heads over and Wrestling 3 nails him with a shoulder thrust in the gut and hits a sunset flip over the ropes 1..2..3! Mr. Wrestling 2 hugs Wrestling 3 and escorts him out. McGhee attends to Vaughn. Vaughn gets up quick and pushes McGhee and proceeds to yell at him. They banter for a moment then things calm down as they shake hands and exit. Lance: Mr. Wrestling 3 gets a nice win but there seemed to be some friction between the Real Deal. Fans, next week on TV, the Fabulous Ones will defend the AWA Southern tag titles against Johnny Valiant's Blonde Bombers Jerry Grey and Steve Regal. Joining me now are the Fabulous Ones. The Fabs cut a promo and say they're ready to defend these titles and still have their eyes on the AWA World tag titles. Boos hit as Valiant leads his Blond Bombers to the podium. Valiant: Listen up! Next week your reign comes to an end. You jerks are just poor imitations of the Golden Boy and Mr. Electricity. My Blond Bombers are the future of the AWA and you jerks are just washed up imposters. The Fabs hold up their titles and are ready to fight but Valiant laughs them off and leads his men out. Commercial Break TNT Brass Knuckles Champ Hercules Ayala vs. Sam and Sean Smith Ayala came up just short in his AWA world title match with Ted Dibiase at Night of Champions and tonight he requested to fight two men. Saying Ayala is pissed would be an understatement. He just brutally destroys his opponents! He picks up Sean and knocks him out with a punch! He picks up Sam and clamps on a bear hug then belly to belly suplexes him over on Sean to get the pin! Ayala picks both men up by their hair and hurls them out of the ring! Ayala holds up his brass knuckles title with one hand and clenches his fist with the other. Lance: Oh my, Hercules Ayala is a man possessed tonight. Switching gears at Night of Champions my guests Tony Parisi and Gino Brito defeated the Enforcers Richard Charland and Bob Dellaserra in a loser leaves town match. Well boys now that you sent the Enforcers packing what's next? Brito: Now that that is finally over, Tony and I can focus on the titles. Boos as Gene Anderson comes out. Gene: You boys might be done with the Enforcers but I'm not done with you! Gene just walks out. Lance (puzzled) Very ominous words from Gene Anderson. Commercial Break DJ Peterson vs. 'Cool' Carl Fergie At Night of Champions, Fergie interfered and helped Gary Young get the win over DJ. DJ wanted Carl tonight! The bell rings and DJ is all over Carl! DJ just unloads with fists, swings him to the ropes and clotheslines him down! DJ gets on the top rope. Carl slowly staggers up. The fans boo as Art Crews comes out and pushes DJ off the ropes! The Ref signals for the DQ. The bell is ringing as Crews climbs to the top rope. DJ starts to rise but Gary Young hits the ring and nails DJ with a forearm to the back. Carl gets up. Him and Young pick up DJ and hold him while Crews nails him with a missile dropkick! The 3 of them put the boots to DJ. The fans roar as Mike Shaw and Denny Brown run in! Young, Carl and Crews roll under the ropes satisfied with what they accomplished. Winner of the Match by DQ- DJ Peterson Commercial Break Lance: Ok after what just happened I want to ask these men some questions. Crews, Fergie and Young appear smiling. Crews: Lance, around here it's obvious people need friends. Well I found a couple of good friends and together we decided we're going to run TNT. Fergie: That's right! Just look at us. Pure talent! Young: I came to TNT to make a splash and here it is! Nobody can stop this trio and I'm daring anyone to try! Lance: Ok, it appears we have a new alliance in TNT but it looks like DJ has some friends as well. Back to the ring. The Kansas Jayhawks vs. The Cuban Assassins w/Ratamyus Both teams look to bounce back from their Night of Champions losses and get back in the title hunt. Of course with these teams the match is one hard hitting brawl! It's a wild 8 minute back and forth fight with both teams looking strong. A pier six brawl breaks out. Ratamyus gets on the apron but Jaggers swings Fidel into him, sending him flying off. Dutch clotheslines Angel over the top rope. The Jayhawks swing Fidel to the ropes and put him down with a double clothesline 1..2..3! Huge pop! Commercial Break Lance: Big win for the Jayhawks. Fans next week don't forget, The Fabulous Ones will defend the AWA Southern titles against Johnny Valiant's Blonde Bombers. Jumbo Tsuruta will be in action. The Real Deal will face the TNT Tag champs Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis is a non title bout. Austin Idol defends his TV title against the former champ The Dream Machine. Also just announced DJ Peterson, Mike Shaw and Denny Brown will face Carl Fergie, Art Crews and Gary Young. Should be a great show. Before we get to our main event, we have some special comments from Jerry Lawler, who's at home recuperating. Lawler: (takes a moment) Bill Dundee, at last you showed your true colors. You knew you couldn't get the job done on your own so you get that masked buffoon to help you. Dream Machine is a liar. I checked up on him many times but I was told he was refusing all visitors. Well now I know why he didn't want to see me. Dundee and Dream got one over on me and took the title that I cherish. Bill, Dream Machine, I hope it was worth it (points at the camera) because it's going to be hell to pay! Commercial Break Lance: Ok, we're set for our main event... hold on, it looks like Buddy Landel is coming over. Buddy: Do I look great or what? Come on Lance, it's not easy looking this good brother. (pulls out a comb and feathers his hair) Now after Night of Champions when I beat that punk Denny Brown and won the right to any title shot I want, everybody wants to know which title I'm gunning for. Well that's easy. There's only one title a man of my talent, a man of my caliber and a man of my skill goes for. That's the WORLD title daddy! That's right. Ted Dibiase, you've been ducking me long enough brother and now you have no choice. Mr. AWA will be the next world champ. Bet on it! Excuse me Lance, but I have to put on an exhibition and give this Hennig kid a wrestling lesson. Cheers as Curt Hennig (bandage on forehead from Tully's post match attack at Night of Champions) ) comes to the podium. Curt: Landel, you have a big mouth my friend, so let's see if you can back it up. Put your AWA world title shot on the line, right here, right now! The fans go crazy as Curt slides into the ring with fists pumping. Buddy is embarrassed but he tries to hide it and needs to save face. Buddy: Fine by me! Buddy takes off his robe and hits the ring. 'Nature Boy' Buddy Landel vs. Curt Hennig The bell rings and they have a furious exchange! Curt gets the upper hand, swings Buddy to the ropes and back drops him. Buddy staggers up and Hennig dropkicks him through the ropes! Buddy tries to stand up but falls back down as the fans cheer. Curt goes to the outside, grabs Buddy by his hair and hurls him back in the ring. Curt climbs to the top rope. Buddy staggers up and Curt crashes down with a double axe handle 1..2..Buddy gets his foot on the rope. Curt reaches down but Buddy grabs his trunks and pulls him through the ropes. Buddy regroups. Curt gets to the apron, Buddy grabs his head and snaps it on the top rope. Curt falls on the apron. Buddy swings off the ropes and baseball slides Curt to the floor. Buddy goes to the outside and rips the bandage off Curt's head then pounds away with closed fists reopening the wound. The Ref warns Buddy and he hurls Curt back in the ring. Buddy hops on the middle ropes and crashes down with a knee on Curt's leg. Buddy works over the leg then clamps on the figure four! Buddy wrenches away as the fans cheer Curt on. Curt begins to fight it. The fans go crazy when Curt rolls over and reverses it! Buddy quickly grabs the ropes and the Ref breaks the hold up. Buddy limps up as Curt staggers up. Buddy throws a wild punch but Curt ducks and executes an Atomic Drop! Buddy bounces into the turnbuckles, Curt grabs him and hits a German Suplex but his leg wobbles and it doesn't have the full affect as Buddy kicks out. Curt gets up and limps around then picks up Buddy but Buddy rakes the eyes, swings him to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Buddy swings off the ropes and goes for the corkscrew elbow drop but Curt moves! Both men stagger up and exchange punches. Curt blocks a punch and unloads, swings Buddy to the turnbuckles and follows with a running clothesline then hip tosses Buddy to the center of the ring and follows with a running neck snap. The fans are going wild as Curt picks Buddy up and hits the Northern Lights Suplex 1..2.. WAIT! Tully Blanchard runs out and grabs the Ref by his feet and yanks him out of the ring. Tully quickly slides in the ring and lightly hits Buddy then stomps away on Curt! The Ref signals for the bell as Tully puts the boots to Curt then drops several elbows on him. Tully picks up Curt and hits the Sling Shot Suplex! Buddy staggers up and joins in by stomping away on Curt. Tully runs out and grabs a chair then slides it in the ring. Buddy body slams Curt on the chair. Tully picks up Curt and Sling Shot Suplexes him on the chair! Buddy clamps the figure four on Curt and wrenches away while Tully stomps away on Curt. Finally several wrestlers from the back come out to stop this. Tully helps Buddy up and they arrogantly smile and leave. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, Curt was helped out of here and was in pretty bad shape. I was informed by the Ref that technically Tully touched Buddy first and had no choice but to disqualify Curt. Talk about a cheap deal. I hope Tully and Buddy are happy with themselves. I'm sure we'll have more answers next week. Fans, until then.

Awesome show! Props to you on giving us 2 tag title matches and the hard work you put into it. The Movement retain in of course shady fashion. The Youngbloods put up a hell of a fight and looks like they will get a rematch. Great match! Our next match is another wild one. Love the Watts/Geigel/Cornette interactions before the match LOL. What a match! The Islanders are on the verge of winning the titles until the Spoiler makes a shocking appearance and saves the Midnight Express. Chaos ensues and this one is far from over. The show could of easily ended there but there's more! Kevin provides proof of Bock's affiliation with Hart. Wild brawl ensues! Hart's monsters are ready to destroy Kevin until Kerry helps but there's more! Chris Adams returns and aligns with the Von Erichs! WOW! Non stop action packed show! Huge surprises! Cant wait for that Lumberjack strap match!
-
Young Kendall is ready for the fight. Like the breaking kayfabe moment explaining the Mike Von Erich situation. Makes total sense that Mulligan would want to focus on his son and let Fritz handle his son. Big win for Mike George over Bulba. this was only the beginning for Bulba as he later interferes and pisses of Leduc. Things don't look good for Bulba. Damn, Bass and Bart are ruthless as they give Embry a beat down! JJ and his team give a threatening promo. It wont be long before they have some gold. Speaking of beatings. Atlas is on fire as he takes it to both Sheik and Volkoff! Rufus joins in and a streetfight is next! That will be a brawl! Dory is a master as he uses good ol fashion wrestling to allow him and Mulligan get the big win over Ladd and Boone. Will the upcoming Ladd/Mulligan match finally resolve things? I have a feeling it wont LOL.

I agree with Kev, those last 3 matches were off the charts! Orton and Khan get solid wins as they move on up the rankings. LOL, HTM continues his winning ways. Looks like the Highwaymen and Glamour Boys are going to need a big time gimmick match to end their feud. Islanders look more than ready for their upcoming title match with the Midnights.

Bringing in Morgan as the British Middleweight champ is a great idea. Immediately gets him over. Tito is back! Ariba! Shock of the night, Foley arrives to take Adnan's spot! Talk about a heat magnet in Stampede. His men already get into a brawl with Tito and the Hart Foundation and now Stu is involved! A new chapter in this saga. Awesome seeing Hansen and Bad News brawling. This may never ever get resolved LOL. Oh man who attacked Orndorff??? That might not of been wise because now Orndorff gets a rematch and Heenan will be above the ring. I can only imagine what Orndorff will do with Heenan if he wins the match.

I agree, no better way to end the new year than a Savage/Gino No DQ match! That's going to be epic!

The war between Studd, Brody and Shultz is at an all time high. Maybe a 3 way match is coming. That would be epic! Islanders seem pumped up and ready for the Midnight Express. LOL, Watts says Corny cant get out of the stipulation. Kevin confronts Hart but get attacked by Killer Khan! Hart has assembled a dangerous group of monsters. Strongbow is back and says this time will be different. Glamour Boys finally get a satisfying win over the Highway Men. But it looks like Paul Jones has some interest in the Highway Men. Could be trouble for the Glamour Boys. Oh Man! Windham makes short work of Tatum and sends him packing for a bit. LOL, great TV moment.
-
The violence has gone to a new level in the Rocky Mountains! Bulba nails Rich with the brass knuckles to get the win but Johnny Rich will fight another day. Atlas beats the Sheik at his own game and the Sheik is irate. Man he did a number on SBS with the club! Atlas vs. Sheik will be a war! JJ arrives and is now managing Bart and Bass! It wont be long before they get some gold. Talk about a fight. Dr. Death and Leduc brawl to a double c.o. This one has only just begun. 7 Heart punches!!!! Damn! Ox shows why he's as dangerous as ever as he sends Sonny King to the hospital. This was really well done on TV showing how brutal and graphic it was. What's next for Ox and who's going to want to get in the ring with him??? Kevin gets revenge on Adams but seems like he wants to help him return to his old self. We'll see how this plays out. Ladd gets the win over Manny but the story is after the match as Mulligan and Dory unite against Ladd and Grizzly! Cant wait for that tag match.
-
Always liked the Battle Royal kicking off a show and determining the matches. Brody wins it and gets a shot at Bock. The most intriguing match to me was Barry Windham and Kerry Von Erich. Of course they put on a wrestling classic and go 20 minutes. Good stuff. Brody and Bock would of been awesome to watch live. That no good Studd interferes and costs Brody his chance to be champ. With no doubt this extends their feud.
-
The Royal Family is looking brutal as they put down the Vachons. Billy/Texas Red and the Marauders are venturing into a bloody feud. Taylor retains as he puts down Super Strong Machine. I think Taylor and the TV title is a perfect match. Oh man looks like a new feud is starting as Rose uses the old powder on Bravo then proceeds to give a beatdown. Piper defends against Flowers but the post match was the story as Wiskowski attacks Piper. Piper vs. Wiskowski will be a lot of fun.
-
Great job with the TV hyping up the tournament. Also the plot thickens between Bob Armstrong and Terry Funk. The fans got their money's worth with some dream tournament match ups. Funk is ruthless as he makes it to the finals while Armstrong's odds are slim as he gets the mist from Super Ninja. Brad tries his best but the Funker is just to much as he piledrives his way to the title!! Terry Funk as champion is such a perfect choice in Continental. Cant wait for the reign of Funk!
-
Action packed opening as Armstrong/Bassarab and McCord have enough of MX-1 and the Assassins and take them down in an impromptu match. Flair and Heenan get one over on Orndorff but they might pay for that as a rematch is ordered with Heenan barred! Chaos in the AWA tag title bout! Bad News and Hansen brawl as Adnan fireballs Bret! WOW! Adnan is sending someone more dangerous than him? This is trouble! And once again the Movement walk out with the titles. The feuds are red hot in Stampede!
-
Great stuff with the aftermath of Backlund's stunning title loss to Magnum. I like the mix between Backlund's craziness and Arnold's more subdued approach. A Road Warriors/Moondogs brawl would of given me my money's worth for sure. Like the team of Robinson and Quinn. They could be very dangerous. Johnson retains against Roop in what looked like a classic.
-
Super Black Ninja continues his winning ways. Grapplers and Sheepherders get in nice wins. Cooley and Muraco is a fun match. Looks like Muraco got frustrated and DQed. Oh man I wonder who this masked man is attacking Funk??? OMG/Garvin and Bugsy win round 1 over Devastation Inc. Herc retains against Street. Loving Herc as Southeastern champ. Fantastics and Stud Stable look like they're heading into a wild feud.
