  1. Fair enough. I guess I was just reading it in my head as: Marty: He had great matches! JvK: Curtain call. Marty: He was wicked charismatic! JvK: Curtain call. Marty: DX was the most heelish thing ever! JvK: Curtain call. ...which was annoying.
  2. 405 (tie) - Kevin Nash 2006 Ranking: unranked Points: 80 # of Ballots: 2 Average Vote: 61 High Vote: 53 (Lisa Lewis) Low Vote: 69 Just checked the nominee list and Kevin Nash wasn't even nominated for the project. He really is the greatest backstage politician in wrestling history. ATTICA! ATTICA!
  3. I honestly don't get this. How does the curtain call effect his reputation as a performer? I don't dispute the claims that Michaels was a giant dick, but if you're using that as a catch-all for discrediting his candidacy for the GWE then I'm at a total loss as to what we're even trying to accomplish with it. Not that I wasn't more than a little confused to begin with.
  4. Come on, Tim and I did 5.5 hours straight on our top 50 with energy to spare! Another reason Toronto is better than Vancouver folks! Canuck-on-Canuck crime. Ouch.
  5. Yeah, but with the GWE project over the board needed a shake-up anyway. It's the post-WrestleMania Raw of PWO. New characters and snarky chants. Bring it!
  6. This idea is the legacy I will leave the PWO board. I couldn't be prouder. (*probably gonna wind up with HHH as my new avatar*)
  7. Where did JvK have Low-Ki? Anyone remember?
  8. Done but I had to find one that fit my gimmick Ospreay was under a hood once? Man, the more you learn...
  9. See, I'm the opposite. I LOVE the mega-length pods. My morning has been flying by at work with you guys in my ear. Marty's Cena rant was EPIC. Topped even the Michaels one. I'm almost afraid to see where he goes with the rest. Lovin' it.
  10. By ranked, do you mean only those who get into the top one hundred? No, I mean the lowest guy overall. So get to preppin' that Lanny Poffo avatar, Scarlet-Left. ;-)
  11. Loved Marty's impassioned defense of Shawn Michaels. And no, Marty, you won't be the high vote on him by a longshot.
  12. May I suggest... The original Funkasaurus.
  13. When the bands you grew up on are being mocked ironically as staples of a bad pro wrestler's fictional cover band live set... *grabs iPod and sits in the corner softly weeping*
  14. We should probably just make everybody change their avatar to the pic of the lowest ranked guy they were high voter on. Scarlet letter the shit out of this place and shame everyone. It would be glorious.
  15. I take umbrage with your comment, sir. Honky Tonk getting destroyed by Ultimate Warrior is easily one of the top 50 greatest squashes of all time. Most likely top 10, if not top 5.
  16. Updated with March matches as well as those from WrestleMania weekend, since a bunch of ratings are out and there were a LOT of snowflakes being tossed around.
  17. This would be a pretty good podcast topic actually. Just running through old midcard WWE brand split era acts. Seems like enough time has passed for those to be vaguely nostalgic at this point. Agreed. You could probably spotlight 2-3 mid-card acts for a 1 hour show. Just do quick run-downs of their WWE time and highlight some overlooked matches or angles they were involved with. I'd listen to 20 minutes on Rene Dupree's stroll through the Smackdown midcard if I felt like the hosts were sincere in trying to find value in it.
  18. Not gonna lie, if I saw that on a marquee I'd step in for a beer or two.

    NXT talk

So last night's mostly recap show was kind of deflating. Did they not record any other matches at TakeOver outside of Crews-Samson? Seems odd. I don't know how long Jason Jordan has been toiling in developmental (I remember his jobber days in 2014 NXT), but man winning the belts seems to have legit affected the guy. He was still on the verge of tears for that post-match interview. I think that's been one of the underrated aspects of following NXT: these are mostly people who are within an arms reach of achieving a lifelong dream and seeing them work hard and get that recognition is really rewarding as a fan.
  20. This was a lot of fun. Having two brand new voices for this kind of talk was refreshing. I kinda feel like at this point you could randomly pair up any two people from the project and have them do a podcast on their ballots and I would listen. Having a voice to match to their writing is also an added bonus. Very much looking forward to the rest of their lists.
  21. Tiger Butcher?

    Post-Mania 32 Raw

I wouldn't say "entirely". We are definitely living in a time where individuality is being tied more and more to a person's likes and dislikes in the pop culture arena. People often makes choices - even if subconsciously - to get behind something (particular wrestlers in this instance) that others appear lukewarm on just because it helps them stand out, at least in their own mind. I think we even see it with the GWE ballots where nearly everybody is going to have a few picks that are merely there for personal reasons having nothing to do with evaluated "greatness". We're not likely to see a Hulk Hogan circa 1985 ever again, because the moment a vast majority of people get behind someone there will spring up a sizeable minority who will run contrary just as a way of feeling like an individual. Bryan was such an anomalie, and in truth you can pin a lot of that on the "YES" chants, because they were fun to do in person. I'm really curious to see how Enzo & Cass do on the main roster, because it's been a really long time since the WWE had an act that had that reliable sing-song promo shtick. Mob mentality is a weird thing. On a message board we can all carve out a personality based on our likes and dislikes, and really hold true to what those things are even when pressed by those with differing opinions. Yet put us all in the same arena and we're all probably gonna wind up shouting out "S-A-W-F-T" at the top of our lungs because personal opinions be damned, doing that shit with a packed house of strangers is ridiculously fun. WWE is no doubt their own worst enemy, but I think they're also up against a weird societal issue by being a nationally touring brand. Try as they might, they simply can't predict what crowd they're gonna get on a given night. Part of NXT's "success" is built around playing to the same audience most weeks, so they can book accordingly.
  23. Now that the names are landing I'm starting to have this weird anxiety that I'm gonna wind up the high vote on somebody that I'll have no defense for. Like I'm just gonna wander around forever after, beating myself up over my Rank Of Shame. "I'm so STUPID! Why did I DO that?!" On the flip side, the higher we get before hitting a name that I had ranked, the better I feel about my overall rankings, since it increases the likelihood that I wasn't the lone voter. Seriously. This is oddly exhilerating. Also, my workday is slow.

So does this make Roman officially a heel?

    Post-Mania 32 Raw

Alright, I thought that Codebreaker was it. I'll admit it.
